From what i understand the person was likely someone who went to school in the usa and has a degree of software engineering and is likely  between 40-56.

Id say the chances it could be someone of Caucasian decent would be a top contender but it could be someone from a pacific island country such as japan.

Also a place someone could have gained a decent amount of income to not want to cash out million of dollars of coins their holding.

The name is a pure Japanese name, so it mean he will be from Japan, as only Japanese like their names to be from Japanese words, none of the other countries' people like their names to be from Japanese. So from the name we can easily find that Satoshi is from Japan.

i think so but considering the fact that BTC is not popular as much as in European counrtry, I'm now confused if that name is just an alias so that he might cover his true identity because we all know that BTC has negative feature at the early stage when it developed and release. I think the devs is not careless to choose that name because it is obviously a vulgar name, And as i proof that the dev is not careless on his moves, Until now he is not been identified.  Cheesy

I think that he is right, that is not public. It is not known how it or they react society. if they decide to be incognito, then it must be respected

he is one person, with have eyes, lips, hair, can write with keyboards. satoshi nakamoto don't want his/her life to discuss, he wants to be in behind of the scene and watching all of this happen.

All of us here in this forum we know that there is only one person behind who is responsible for this thing and that is Satoshi nakamoto.
I agreed also that this person doesn't want his/her life to discuss, and thats the question really don't know Why? so I think the creator of bitcoin is very simple or low profile person. BUt in my assesment for me he's an asean type of a person. Smiley

Satoshi nakamoto is anonymous there not nationality
the flag nationality in crypto curency leading in the world

Yeah, satoshi identity is unknown and therefore nationality was unknown. For me personally it does not really matter, the important thing is that we were lucky to know bitcoin, which he created.

its not important whether what he/she's nationality or citizenship is, besides bitcoin became popular or well known without his/her complete information, because the community patronize it so well due its lots of advantages of having it in ourlives. Cheesy

Bitcoin transcends national borders. Satoshi Nakamoto would not belong to any country. He/she/they would be on the Refugee team.

Athletes that joined the Refugee team comes from somewhere but they are not been choose by their country because of many reasons so they are listed to the Refugee team. I think that he or they are very anonymous for us but someone should know them until now, my opinion is that he/they should be from U.S or from China. But still the Satoshi Nakamoto's identity's mysterious we can only speculate.

Satoshi Nakamoto is the nickname of the person who created bitcoin. He wanted to remain anonymous and didn't want a lot of publicity for himself. Let's leave it that way as this was intentionally done by him.

Let's be creative guys, stop with all the "Bitcoin is borderless" just for this discussion. If he is a human, he or she has to live somewhere... and that puts him or them in a specific area on this planet. I

am convinced that he must be UK or USA but they live everywhere these days.  Roll Eyes ... I doubt that it will be CW from Australia, but that is a debate for another thread.  Wink Cmon be creative and give

us the Satoshi group nationality.  Roll Eyes

The name refers that he is Japanese , but I don't believe that this name is the real name of Bitcoin creator , also I think they are group of people not one person .
maybe Bitcoin in the beginning was useless for the governments , but when the market cap reached 10 Billion Dollars , I think some governments or big financial companies started their own attempts to control Bitcoin or exploit it for their own benifit , so I believe that some governments control by Bitcoin now .

More likely arrested  for not paying taxes from his million coins stash. Especially if he is really resident from UK or USA as most assume, as these countries have little tolerance when someone dont pay proper taxes. And Satoshi Nakamoto posts suggests he is indeed native english speaker and the Japanese name is just pseudonym.

If Satoshi is a resident of the UK these rules apply

For VAT purposes Bitcoin and similar cryptocurrencies will be treated as follows below, this in no way reflects on how they are treated for regulatory or other purposes:

income received from Bitcoin mining activities will generally be outside the scope of VAT on the basis that the activity does not constitute an economic activity for VAT purposes because there is an insufficient link between any services provided and any consideration received
income received by miners for other activities, such as for the provision of services in connection with the verification of specific transactions for which specific charges are made, will be exempt from VAT under Article 135(1)(d) of the EU VAT Directive as falling within the definition of ‘transactions, including negotiation, concerning deposit and current accounts, payments, transfers, debts, cheques and other negotiable instruments’
when Bitcoin is exchanged for Sterling or for foreign currencies, such as Euros or Dollars, no VAT will be due on the value of the Bitcoins themselves
charges (in whatever form) made over and above the value of the Bitcoin for arranging or carrying out any transactions in Bitcoin will be exempt from VAT under Article 135(1)(d) as outlined at 2 above

However, in all instances, VAT will be due in the normal way from suppliers of any goods or services sold in exchange for Bitcoin or other similar cryptocurrency. The value of the supply of goods or services on which VAT is due will be the sterling value of the cryptocurrency at the point the transaction takes place

Satoshi Nakamoto cannot be a refugee. Refugees are poor, and they need to work long hours in difficult conditions to make it, whereas Satoshi Nakamoto must have had a peaceful environment for a long time to think about BTC and to create it. So he was a pretty well-off guy, but who should cares about his damned nationality? His creation doesn't have borders, let's not give him a birthplace to create some sense of location.

I believe he is from the space, because bitcoin isnt from this world, and is slowly making the revolution and returning the power to the people, something banks and governements has nowadays. I dont know really and got no way nakamoto should be japan or chinese, but maybe a person just choosed those to be related to there and not to his or her reall identy.
Yeah, I have the same idea too, maybe he’s an alien from outer space or some high-developed civilisation and he came here to help humankind by bringing bitcoin which maybe is from his world to us. It’s just my prediction as I am a true believer of alien life.

In my opinion moon was built by alien to bring human life in earth. Bitcoin may be an modern day witness of alien help.

I heard the English he used was mainly the "British" style, so I bet he must be from one of the Commonwealth countries- Australia is one of them (where Craig was from!).

I think the use of a Japanese name was to add more "mystery" to the identity. Almost all Japanese use the US style of English so I think he is not a Japanese.

the entity behind the pseudonym satoshi is a single person. by this i mean only one person at a keyboard was typing emails and forum posts in the name of satoshi

.. but that does not mean he worked alone
ofcourse he worked with other people.. hal finney is the big name back then of someone he worked with, amungst others.
they just used their own pseudonyms

as for nationality. though he spoke english. it was more british rather than american, canadian, etc.

So I was watching the Olympics and I was thinking.. if we had to choose a nationality for Satoshi, which would it be and why? Would he, she or they be from the same country or possibly from a

group of countries. Let's debate the merits of Satoshi being a group and not a individual for this debate, it just makes things easier. I know some people have looked at his post history and the time

zone in which he posted and also at his writings, but could this be a collective mind, coming from different countries? Let's discuss.  Grin
