Yes that is what I heard about his last whereabouts as well. I'm happy though because Bitcoin needed to keep it's anonymity factor to the creator otherwise it wouldn't be what it is today.

Satoshi went silent right after some members here promoted it to wikileaks in December 2010. He didn't want to draw negative attention. Has he been silenced by CIA or is he scared? Why is he silent now instead of promoting bitcoin?

I think what Satoshi did is absolutely right. Satoshi gifted us his invention and showed us the way of decentralized economy which is indeed a rebellious idea and the governments will try to hunt him down because bitcoin talks about the shift of power from the government's hand to the people. So it was wise for him to remain silent. A person who gave us a tremendous currency like bitcoin, deserves a decent and peaceful life. I am sure that the enforcement agencies will run behind Satoshi to put him behind the bars, if he reveals himself by mistake. It's better for him to remain silent and live in peace. Respect!

Very interesting idea. It has some fishy parts.  I will keep an eye on this.

Well it's pretty understandable that Satoshi would just go away after this, he is the creator of Bitcoin and wouldn't want to go ahead and get in some insane legal trouble due to his creation. Governments and banks are going to want to practically torture him to crack the Bitcoin code, which he probably can do.

So for the safety of himself, and his family, and the community which he built he went away.
