Discover Satoshi’s Hidden GameSatoshi’s Hidden Game is a podcast documenting the journey of restoring all features from and modernizing Satoshi Nakamoto’s original Bitcoin v0.1.5 code to create Bipcoin a Bitcoin with the poker game and marketplace that Satoshi started but did not finish.
In the podcast we do code archeology and try to get in to Satoshi’s design thinking, not just from the code but through intense study of his left behind communications and documentation.
The podcast is a journey with the end goal of creating a modern version of the last pure Satoshi Bitcoin code. I will try to stay as close as I can to Satoshi’s code while adding Post-Quantum cryptography, Segwit, multi-sig escrow, and restoring the in node Marketplace and of course the decentralized Poker game that Satoshi started to implement.
So I’m planning to / trying to release a new episode every Sunday. I am in parallel with doing the podcast writing the code. So I’m not sure how many episodes it will take before I have a finished Bipcoin platform, but let’s have fun during the process

.
But what is Bitcoin Poker?
Bitcoin Poker is a P2P Cash (Bipcoin) and a decentralized poker implementation, utilizing blockchain platform designed to bring provably fair, decentralized poker to life.
Built directly from Satoshi’s original Bitcoin code, the project introduces:
- Built in Rust as I believe Satoshi would use Rust in 2025.
- Post-quantum security with Blake3 cryptography.
- A trustless Marketplace for buying, selling, and trading BPC using multi-sig escrow.
- A peer-to-peer network for decentralized synchronization and gameplay.
- Innovations like provably fair shuffling and secure gameplay.
The idea is to restore Satoshi’s unfinished features while modernizing them for a world where security and decentralization are more important than ever.
Podcast Episodes
🎙️ Here’s what I have covered so far on Satoshi’s Hidden Game:
Episode 1: Satoshi’s Hidden Poker CodeWhat if Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, built more than just a decentralized currency? In Bitcoin’s earliest code—versions 0.1.0 to 0.1.5—there’s a hidden poker game. In this episode, I dig deep into Satoshi’s original 2008 code and explore the mysterious poker references buried within. Was it just an experiment, or part of a bigger strategy to incentivize node operators and early adopters? Join me as we analyze the comments, coding style, and clues Satoshi left behind—and begin our journey to reimagine and modernize Bitcoin Poker for 2025.
Episode 2: Satoshi’s Hand – How Online Poker Shaped BitcoinDescription: In this episode, I explore the surprising connection between Bitcoin and online poker. During the mid-2000s, the online poker industry faced challenges like regulatory crackdowns, trust issues, and cross-border complications. Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin offered innovative solutions—censorship-resistant payments, provably fair gameplay, and decentralized hosting. Dive into how these challenges may have influenced Bitcoin’s design, and discover the early poker-related features hidden in Bitcoin’s code. Plus, learn how BipCoin Poker is reviving this vision for a modern decentralized poker experience.
Episode 3: Modernizing Bitcoin v0.1.5 - Porting to RustDescription: In this episode we walk about the code modules and the design thinking going into porting Satoshi's Bitcoin Code to Rust, and the new post-quantum encryption choices.
Episode 4: It's About the Incentive! Fairer Mining with Blake3 and Balanced Blockchain EconomicsDescription: What if blockchain mining wasn’t just about how fast you solve puzzles, but about fairness and accessibility from day one? In adding a decentralized game function to the nodes we are adding an additional work type. We have mining, the puzzle solving work that introduces new coins to the world. But we also have the hosting and management of poker tables that needs to be considered.
Episode 5: Designing the MarketplaceDescription: This episode explores the design of the Bitcoin Marketplace, built from the marketplace functions in Satoshi Nakamoto’s original Bitcoin v0.1.5 code. We discuss the integration of multi-sig escrow for trustless transactions and preview the upcoming Trading Module for creating a native BTC-P economy.
Episode 6: To be released January 26th
