So what happens when Bitcoin hits $100,000, there are only 6 spaces, it will need 7.
Does the space marked BTC/USD change to the $ sign and leave the six spaced for
numerals? I really hope they havent overlooked that...

It shows a few different images of what it can display but none show the very first
space with a $ sign on the github page.

Very cool Bitcoin clock, and best thing of all - it's open source.
You posted github link for version 1 but latest updated version is V3.
I wrote about it in forum when I first heard about it a while ago, and I think it's better than stuff made by nvk lunatic company.

Back in 2021 I started a topic about DIY Bitcoin Clock, and this was updated in January of this year after I saw clock made by Djuri B:

Very cool clock. I’ve seen many of these come and go over the years but they’re all excellent products. I have a spare big screen I use to show financial charts in my living room, but if I didn’t, this would be a nice alternative to have. Would probably be good for an office at your workplace too. Beats getting yelled at for chart watching.

This is the store that sells it and here's the blogpost about it: It's in Dutch

and this the direct shop itself:

Yeah this clock is quite large. It measures 22x8.5cm or 8.6x3.3".

It's been running 1 week now and I've set it to show BTC/USD permanently, but with a LED flash every time a block is mined. Unfortunatelyu you cannot set it to show blockheight for xx sec and then return to BTC/USD. (or I did not find a setting that does it).

I have no clue where it gets the data from. But a setting is active that says 'use BTClock data source' and not the Nostr datasource.

When I first saw the image I thought it was the Blockclock Mini sold by Coinkite but this is a different product, which might have been inspired by the Blockclock. I’ve considered buying one before but then I saw the price and it didn’t seem worth it for what you were getting. Even the micro version of the Blockclock is $200 and it is just a tiny device made of plastic.

It is nice that there is an open source alternative that is being sold at a more affordable price.

That BTClock looks really slick! I’d probably go the fully assembled route too, as I’m not the most DIY-savvy when it comes to electronics. But it’s awesome that they offer both options for different preferences. I’d love to hear more about how it works. Have you been using it for a while now?

Out of curiosity, did the local website you mentioned mention where the clock pulls its Bitcoin price data from?

Indeed a nice looking clock! i like that there are customizations for it such as changing to halving countdown, fee rate, etc. Though I'm not convinced I would spend 200+ bucks for it-- since I can't assemble it myself lol. Then again, they're using e-ink which I suspect reasonably bumped production cost.

Also, I think the regulars in Collectibles board might like this enough to buy  Cheesy

I also bought one fully assembled.

This is its local website:
The image is quite blurry, instead of imgbb, use talkimg.com. The images it processed and posted in the forum are clearer and better. I can't read the website and it seems a good clock for just being updated on the price of BTC. I am interested but lack details on where it can be availed because of the unclear image you have posted for the local website. For sure that it has to be connected to the internet to get updated for its price and aren't there any security concerns about that? I'm not that techy guy at all but I'd like to have it placed somewhere in my living room.

That's really nice clock. But no way that I would assemble it myself, that's not my stuff. I don't even have 3D printer to print case. If there would ready to use clock to buy, I'm sure that there would be demand for it.
And dumb question - from where it takes data about BTC price?

Check this out. Bitcoin clock, ticker, and much more.
Some dutch guy makes it. Really nice. Uses e-ink screens to display data. Assemble yourself or buy a fully operational unit.
