Numerous fraudulent Twitter accounts have messaged me about an airdrop opportunity. Although I was almost fooled by this claim, later I realized that legitimate opportunities need to be concealed in order to limit the number of beneficiaries. Rather than falling victim to this apparent airdrop opportunity, I realized that it is crucial to be cautious and verify any website links provided. I also realized that I needed to compare social media links. If you frequently trade cryptocurrency and follow many influencers, the number of followers on a particular account could indicate its authenticity in this era of airdrop awareness.

Twitter users are among those who are very active, so several accounts were tagged by the fake arbitrum airdrop scammer (thankfully, several fake arbitrum accounts have been banned), fortunately the big news media helped spread the word about this case and saved many people from this kind of scam.

This is the kind of work that we expect from the media, to prevent scammers from scamming crypto users by creating fake crypto websites. The Arbitrum airdrop news was such a hot news in the crypto market that everyone was trying to get this airdrop in any way, as a result of which scammers were trying to get access to the wallets of crypto users by creating fake airdrop websites.

Many crypto users will be alarmed after this fake airdrop is written in the news media.

telegram has become a haven for scammers (i also get messages pointing to the hallowed arbitrum site that you mention) because of easy and simple access, almost every day i get messages from people who claim they are developers of a token project or a trading signal group, investment.  i'm sure they make thousands of fake sites every day and there are 1 or 2 newbies that they manage to trap, for that you need full self-awareness when opening a message from someone we don't know.
Not only Telegram, scammers are using every means to reach crypto users. Currently, many fake websites are appearing on Twitter, which has created a dangerous situation for crypto users who use Twitter. Scammers think of their next scamming strategy every day and continue their activities to create phishing websites. Scammers spend money every time they create a new website because they get their desired victims. So now crypto users have to be more careful to avoid the traps of scammers.

After each new project is launched, scammers create fake airdrop/giveaway websites using the name of that project. Twitter has become more and more popular for scammers these days, as I have seen an increase in the activity of scammers on Twitter these days. Therefore, before trusting anything found on Twitter, crypto users should check and confirm whether it is genuine or fake, so that they can stay away from scammers.
The price of ARB at the time of writing this post reached $1.35, so most scammers want to get these coins that have a good value and are listed on the platforms for free, or they want to steal the entire wallets of the victims. Twitter has now become a club for scammers so that scammers can even buy a blue mark, so If a person does not have time to review the airdrops that he will participate in and the links that he will open, he will undoubtedly lose his funds due to the large number of fake accounts that impersonate the name and domains of official projects.

There are some fake links like this on Twitter that are telling people to claim Zksync airdrop before launch,  Cheesy Grin Grin I know this is fake and people have lost their arbitrum tokens clicking on random links on Twitter, I don't know what the team is doing that these scam links are running around freely on the platform.

I managed to find a few more fake airdrop websites:
Note: I replaced all of the valid links with their respective archived versions!

Please take a minute to also report the above websites to their registrars [you can find their names by clicking each of the creation date links].

BTW, there's one more in the following thread: FAKE ARBITRUM PRESALE AND AIRDROP ONGOING (NEVER JOIN PRESALE)

Not only Telegram. Twitter is also full with bots. I interacted with a couple of posts regarding the ARB airdrop and for the next week I was getting tagged in scam tweets, promoting fake links. I've never reported so many posts in my life, sadly none of them were deleted.

Scammers use all kinds of social media to promote their fake websites. There are even some referral link promoters who promote various types of scam websites without doing any research in hopes of getting a commission.

Arbitrum airdrop is now the most hyped trending news, as a result of which scammers are using this news to create scam websites.

Airdrop hunters should be cautious about this especially those that have missed the actual participation before the release of this airdrop. ARB has been released today and still there are hunters that would long to have it and blindly believing that the participation is still on going. I saw those eligible receivers that have already sold this coin and I'm sure that there will be people that might think that they've really missed a chance and when they see a fake airdrop claim like this, they'll rush to provide everything that's given by the scammer's tweet and post.

They always upgrade and get along with what's the trending project that's on the market and they never miss that opportunity since they're also part of the community. They track every single project that's getting a lot of attention and they will be there no matter what project is that as long as there's a little chance that they can catch a victim.

Someone sent me a link on telegram to claim free Arbitrum airdrop yesterday and as I look the link carefully I saw this https://arbiitrum.foundation, if I am one of those newbies who are impatient it is possible that I will fall for this scam, for the fact that the name is almost identical to the official link will make someone become a prey for this scammer.

We need to cross-check links very well before opening them, and the most dangerous links comes from unknown personnel either through mail or through PM, so do not try opening any link that's sent to you from strangers.

Scamming by fake Dapp websites is becoming more and more dangerous lately. Once you grant access to these kind of websites that use smart contracts and Dapps you wallet get drained instantly and forever. Working as a community manager i have to deal and warn users all day about these new scam and the problem is they fork and make copies of every successful project and they create same pages and everything to make things look as the same original project. Sometimes they get verified with the blue mark on Instagram or Twitter which is a very worrying thing as many victims fall for it and it’s not possible to catch the scammer.
The same case with this Fake airdrop people must be careful before giving access to wallet from any Dapp and web3 website.

Arbitrum has become a hype as big announcements keep happening including from several exchanges announcing it will be listing on March 23rd in a few days, of course this is being taken advantage of by scammers trying to get in on this hype situation and it's clear what a lot of this is spreading is on my social media twitter seen so many fake accounts promoting ARB airdrop that are eligible and all they want is to link to phishing sites and they can steal your assets.

Beginners have to be careful for those who don't meet the official requirements to be quite silent because if they act and are greedy they will get caught in a fake airdrop, if you want to have a token then just buy it on a well-known exchange, of course you don't fall for FOMO.

@OP I'm pretty sure this thread was posted in Scam accusations section, what's the reason you move this thread to Beginners & Help section?
Yes this thread was originally posted on the scam accusations board. But I moved it to Beginners & Help section to reach more to the newbies. But now again this thread has been backed to Scam accusations. So that was the reason for moving this thread, nothing else.

Are there still people on a chase after airdrops as before, i think most id them were just a waste if time for niw except for onky the beginners who are always in a look for it, more care has to be in place when hunting for airdrops before it got one hunted first, they have developed various measn to just scam people through this approach and only few are reliable and that's why many have abstained from it by all means.
Arbitrum will airdrop ARB tokens to their users but the airdrop claims have not yet started, and scammers are taking advantage of this opportunity to target crypto users who will do anything in search of free money. So it can be assumed that some crypto users will connect their wallets to this website for free money and lose their money.

we should be very careful with all this kinds of scams, no one from anywhere have or has a free giveaway of air drops to give or share so let's not be decieved by all those post and links it just a means of getting access or stealing the victim's account. So i urge and advise us all to be careful and be cautious of all this kind of post or links...
Nah you're wrong, there's a lot new project giving away free coins by just posting your address or done their small task. Some of them legit for distributing their coins, but coins are worthless. But to prevent from this, just avoid all shitcoins who want to distribute an airdrop.

I did a little search and found out that that's not the only scam site, I'll provide a list of the site I found and some profiles promoting it.

Scam site: arbltrum-foundatlons(.)com
    Profile promoting it.
Scam site: arbitrum.studio/airdrop
    Profile promoting it.

There should be more but at the moment these are the only ones I could fish out.

Good work OP.

This is just one known among them, their can still be plenty of them. Newbies that do not know about fake domain websites are still getting scammed because they are connecting their wallet to the fake URL.

People should know that they should connect their wallet to the right site, not the wrong one. See the one I read of recent about Blur, it was not even one fake website, but plenty of them.
