Scam happens and are real,if we are never been misfortune for any doesn't mean they don't exist, we should always make sure that we don't get hunted by one out of our careless mistake, also we have to monitor well things we do online, some of us have made ourselves more vulnerable to these scams through various dealings we go through online even without our conscious effort about knowing them to be scam.

Just like wetin the op talk, if you observe the kind of people wey dey fall victim them too get big eye and them think say free offer still dey again, there's nothing like free money or free juicy offer and my issue is, if this offers dey really work them for no share the update, some people wey don fall victim go still fall victim if them no change that impression of free money and those scammers no dey ever rest every time na new method and strategy to take scam, who believe say them go fit hack WhatsApp but now na wetin dey reign.
Sometimes no be who smart pass dey escape scammers and na to  pray make them no see us cause scammers can call as a friend or relative to trick and people dey always send money before asking them questions to confirm, I read one topic on this local board and the op discussed about the new method wey scammers dey use and the person call as a friend, the funny part na how them dey take get people numbers anyhow and your point make sense because some groups for whatsapp no get any value but scammers dey hide inside the group.Op thanks for your reminder concerning the scammers cause as them no dey rest e good to dey remind ourselves about them.

Although hack and scam are different but in some cases they are interrelated in the sense that someone can scam you in other to hack your accounts for example those scammers wey dey call person for phone say their ATM get issues say make them send some details wey dey contained in the ATM card so as e be say them they tell their victims say them they call from their bank, person wey no no go just give them your details they use am gain access to your account so that's how I see it as interrelated.

Now, it's very unfortunate that scams and hack have been so rampard within our environment because always on daily basis people dey fall for these scammers and hackers and the strategy wey these scammers are hackers dey use no dey easy o, me on how I wise reach I no believe say person go fit scam me but las las them scam me wey be say I look myself for mirror come dey imagine weda na me be dis so make every body dey careful abeg the rate of scamming and hacking people's accounts too much now.  What of the current one wey we hear say them hack United States SEC account for Twitter, so dis people no get joy at all.

Some of the reasons wey me I found out say na him dey make people fall for scammers and hackers na desperation like something wey person tell you, you no go calm down verify the information for another source you don rush go do am quick quick thinking say you dey wise but las las you go come see say na you mumu pass.
It is very important to digest any information you hear be it on phone, newspaper, radio, television and the Internet like just calm down small check well before you enter.

Another thing wey dey cause scams and hacks more especially hacks now a days is logging in your details in some devices that reveals your details to malwares and these malwares fit expose your details to hackers like e get some site wey you go wan log in them go say make you use your email address or Facebook account details take log in, I've been a victim of these Facebook own if no be say I dey fast enough na so I for take lose my Facebook account so make we disregard sites wey dey ask us to use our Facebook, Instagram, twitter, email addresses to take log in their own websites, by so doing we go they escape all these misfortune hackers and scammers Dem small small.

Now, in conclusion, scam simply refers to an illegal or fraudulent business aimed at collecting money or other valuable from someone convincingly without the actual knowledge of the victim while hack means a way of gaining access to people's privacy forcefully by malicious means without the prior knowledge of the owner.

Hackers and scammers they everywhere for Naija they find whom they go collect in money or details to use do their bad dealings, and then they improve to come out with the best strategies wey people never know so that their work go they easy for them. Make we they put our accounts them for an extra layer of security like the 2FA authentication so that hackers will find it hard to access our accounts, and make we stop to they use one password anytime we create an account, and make we no they save password automatically for google account so that if they hack our email, the hacker no see our password to use login for the places wey we used that email create accounts, so that they no go move our assets. If person tells you say make you invest 10k to get 40k in the next 2 hours, just no say na scam be that, if na true na in families in go first introduced for the business. And the reason na because I back am up with Gmail that's why them no fit termper am.  And I Don also know the cause of the other ones wey them hack.

OP, this topic na discussion wey I they always pick interest on top. Plenty of us still they fall into petty scam activities in this era of today. Up till now formats like that of WhatsApp hacks, phishing sites still they exist. For Naija now the one wey they trend pass others now na e-mail spamming. Na wetin we dey hear for street say boys they use scam people be that and the process have been upgraded over time in the sense that if they cast them for one format, they will swiftly work towards transforming to another format.

For hacking. We just have  to stay away from malicious links wey full internet. And yes, person go say how we go take no say link dey malicious. Dat wan na true because some time e dey hard to detect this kind link sef but we have to be smart. Any link wey dey tell you to click something and accept you gats dey careful make u no go give wrong permission to hackers enter ur device. Also any link wey u received say issue dey any of your online accounts say make u quick do one or two put ur password to retrieve am, no rush. First go the original website, then try log in for your self, make u first dey sure. Most website dey get data leak and na through this link name scammers take dey collect our data come send message give us. In all, we need to be careful when using the Internet as na bad people na many pass.

Omo my guy this thing way you talk na true scammers way full ground no be here na so they send me message say I won 64k I call the number na different people I just they follow talk and they later tell me say make I send my account number and my account card ahhh I was like why? And for what reason they try wan convince me I was like oga no I don’t want so omo the scammers they come in many ways and if we are not careful many will fall for this.

Thank you so much op, mos of the times the reason why people are being scammed is because they lack knowledge on how scammers works , but it is very important for people to educate themselves to understand how scams works, Ignorance has been the major reason why people have always fall for scams.  I could remember the first time I came across scam I was convince by the scammer but I was so lucky that I was not in rush by the time I think about it I was able to understand that it was a scam.

Scammers full ground wetin no nice and we need de very careful not to be a victim of there dubious means.

Their is one I encountered on my WhatsApp last week and when I looked at his approach towards me, I just laugh because him no know who him de deal with.

The guy man de tell me say him go introduce me to bitcoin reading not k owing say my eye don clear for that side, come say if I send am 20k say him go send me 40k after trading in the next 2hrs come de full my phone with already written messages when we very easy to dictate, I just de laugh am from my end.

The funny thing be say him to use pastor register that WhatsApp come use picture when person wear suit as the dp just so I can believe him easily.

The thing is that as long as you are dealing with a stranger in the online space, no matter how legit they present themselves eh, don't believe them first, if they are trying to persuade you for no just reason, just block them and move on if not you will cry and shy your harsh story in the forum and the only thing we will jointly say will be sorry
