With their defense at ANN not so convincing that it is a mistake they are doing it anyway at its core scamer there is always a way to trick its investors and now they are doing it at its core it is a good catch when they launch on this forum.
It's a textbook explanation of every scammer caught in having fake team member photos. hat he forgot to mention is that they went one step further, they even created fake LinkedIn account using that photo, and that can't be a mistake of a lazy and incompetent web developer. I mean, how can you use someone else's photo by mistake when you are creating your own LinkedIn account? You never looked yourself at the mirror?

Even though everything is clear here now, just wanted to share response (he agreed that I can share this) from a real person behind photo used, and as suspected, he has nothing to do with all this mess.

The website can no longer be accessed and this is indeed a matter if it has been reported immediately to Google so that it is followed up more quickly.

Everything they do is bad even I can see this already and I fully support the flag flying at the OP.

Hm that's weird, when I was making report there was no message like that, not on  my mobile phone, and not on PC. And now there is.
Most probably someone have already reported about it or google have detected the malware on their script after your first visit. Now i think its being more important highlight the matter of active malware on their website rather than their fake team. I don’t think they will confess honestly from their end that they have stolen other people’s identity from interent and using that as their team member. You have done impressive work by detecting them right after their ANN publication on forum.

Flag supported from my end and user profile will be tagged shortly.

What's worse is if you click on the link to their website or white paper (the first one, the second one is just a .jpg of a fancy white paper cover, lol), you get this message:

So yeah. Complete scam. The thread and OP should probably be nuked. Weird because they put an awful lot of time into developing it, and you busted them right away, LOL.
We got some answer regarding fake photo. As always, it's yet another case of "mixup". I mean how it is possible to use another man's photo by mistake, they don't know how their CEO looks like? Those incompetent web developers always ruining such a promising projects :p

The pictures of the team members were mixed with the pictures of the production members of the exclusive game on the site's server

How convenient to "mix" that picture  and use it on a three different places: whitepaper, website and LinkedIn profile.  They already removed the picture from all those places, and since I don't buy that explanation I am raising a flag against them, please support the flag and tag OP.

One could send a email to the actual email of Julian as listed on the website and ask if they know about this project or that they are using his name to scam others. My guess is that the project would be a scam anyway but lets keep the skepticism awake.
Even though I am sure beyond reasonable doubt that they stole photo for "Julien Blair" from Julien Gauthier and that he has nothing to do with Gchain, I actually sent him email, asking whether he is in any way connected to this or not. I also asked @Gchain about that in their ANN, but even though they were online when I asked them that, they are ignoring it for now. If they keep ignoring it, flag will be raised soon.

Few things doesn't add up here, for me to believe them:
  • Photo altering. Why would they reverse the image instead just using the same one like on Julien Gauthier website?
  • Why would Julien Gauthier change his last name to Blair?
  • Brand new LinkedIn account for Julien Blair where he mentions nothing about all his extensive experience, while Julien Gauthier as part of ILM worked on some top movies like Star Wars. Beside that, Julien Gauthier has his own LinkedIn account (I just added it) where he mentions nothing about Gchain.

Ill update this thread when/if I get a response from Julien Gauthier.

If that would be followed up we can use that as evidence to open a flag against the project.

What happened: Gchain used fake team member photo for their CEO. More precisely, they used photo of another person, and on top of that they made LinkedIn account for that fake team member.

This is "Julien Blair", allegedly Gchain "CEO and Lead Blockchain" . They even made brand new LinkedIn account for him, to appear more legit. He is also the only one with LinkedIn account, all other team members have the icon, but link leads nowhere.

Person on the photo is actually Julien Gauthier, professional artist that is working for ILM (Industrial Light&Magic, leading visual effects company). Picture taken was from his own website. Gchain just rotated picture and made it black&white, probably trying to avoid detection by reverse image search.
