Possibly to justify their upcoming 5 year guarantee: 2 X 3 = 5.  Roll Eyes

I think you need to check your math...

Their site is hosted here:

Sometimes hosting companies have a terms of service and you can get sites taken down for breaking them. I don't see anything obvious and don't have the time to look right now.

Interesting how their certificate is a 3 year but they only registered the domain on Dec. 13th for 2 years.

PWNED!! (What a dumbass). The "Indonesian's" ISP has the rest. If we had the buyer, the prosecuter could get busy in less than a month.

Well already done a check on a few things their business is not registered and at that address it is part of the hotel, room rental and to put it blunt that room is not hired out or leased to anyone. They also said that this is not the first time someone has made this inquiry into CPC Electronics. I went into speak to one of the supervises at the customer service desk and showed them the website and a few other things and lets put it this way they where not impressed when they seen their business address been used and said leave it with us. Now am not sure what their doing but maybe they have a mail box or something their. Ill have to do a bit more investigating.

Also sent in 4 emails and no responses from them. Come Jan I will be making an investigation through FSA and also office of fair trading.

Seems their business is also illigaly trading http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//companysearch?disp=1&frfsh=1356283429&#result

No business information for them and all business must be registered to have a limited or sole trade number if their a shop selling products.

CPC 5.2 GH/s Miner $139.00
5.2 GH/s SHA256 Bitcoin Miner
Power consumption 70W
Dual boot with Windows and Linux
Configured with popular mining software

This is my favorite one.  $139, dual boot configured, so you get a windows license too (windows 7 probably right) Tongue !!!

Gotta love the specific #s  Cheesy  5.21857238 GH/s

At least it's an obvious scam.  It'd suck if they had made it more believable, but that gets back to why scams are sometimes intentionally bad in order to select the biggest suckers who will follow through Sad

So you must get 8 5970s included in the rig lol

If they make it 16 5870s, I'll totally pay the 139$ Cheesy  (just kidding, anyone who's reading this and not knowing that this is a scam) Tongue

Tell me why?

If you don't understand the difference already then there is little point in trying to explain it to you.

Looks like a scam, but seeing as I'll be in Manchester next Friday I'll go and have a look at the building they claim to be in just for the hell of it.

So no different then the main 3 asic companies here on the forum then! Unless of course you can show me proof they have an actual product. Nah. They dont either.

Honestly tho, their faq is hilarious.

Nice trolling attempt, but I know no rational individual could actually believe that a blatantly obvious scam with photoshopped PC cases is "no different" to, say, Avalon.

0/10.

Tell me why?

The only reason it is different is due to fpgas being sold before. But thanks for showing that. We have seen a lot of shady stuff so far. For some reason people give out a lot of trust around here to others in the name of greed.

Check out their FAQ:

Quote
Is your hardware based on a custom ASIC chip?
No, the hardware is comprised of AMD GPU stream processors on VLIW-5 architecture

Hmmm. Seems legit.

I find it funny that they bothered buying an HTTPS certificate valid for 3 years.

Do they think that they will still be running their scam 3 years from now? Or do they think some potential customers will see the 3-year cert and think "oh surely they must be legit as they have a 3-year cert"?

Probably some deal from the cert issuer and that was cheapest

You don't believe BFL will release an ASIC in the short future?

While the odds are high they will actually deliver I do not think they actually have a working asic device at this moment.
So in a way they are alike at this point. All hot air with no product to demo/display/etc...

But I do think the odds of one of the three asic companies failing due to a misstep is higher then 1%. It has happened to companies
in the past and I see no reason why they are different.
