Maybe mtgox is not a one man army and Alex could ask his teammate to handle the case?

That's a better suggestion than implying he can't have any days off because of random scams, so at least you're thinking more rationally now.

You took some days off while potential customers might lose thousands of dollars on this scam?

So he's not allowed a vacation because of some random phishing website?

Besides anyone who falls for MtGix needs their head checked.

I had to laugh at the 100 bitcoins for only 449.00 and get a 6 percent discount... I wonder how many suckers actually purchase these?

Also, I noticed that their logo is very similar to MT. Gox logo..

Its obvious that these guys spent a lot of effort at getting this site up and running. I hope Mt. Gox wins the battle...

AR
Still up and running.

Sorry I took a few days off (needed holidays) I am back on this and contacted the Hosting company (In Korea). Waiting for their answer.

Both Mt.Gix and Mt.Gax have been spamming r/bitcoin and r/bitmarket on Reddit like crazy. It's a shame people are falling for it.

I am having a lot of fun in chasing them lately  Grin ... Each and every time they are shutdown within 24 to 48hrs...
Can't you ask INNIC to revoke such domains via a trademark violation?
probably not, because there is a significant difference between mtgox and mtgix.

I will have to check.

Mt.Gox_Alex 's bravado is a bit over the top.

MTGox has every right to defend their trademarks in a court of law, and upon being awarded the verdict, may petition a judge to enter a cease and desist injunction and domain ownership transfer, but at what cost? Odds are they dont even have 2 dimes to rub together like most other scammers. Now it might be worth it if they have deep pockets.

The better direction mightn be to attack their financial services vendor relationships. Eventually they will run out of any willing to do business with them.

Or send google or IE to report it as phishing? That would be cheap and quick enough

Away on an extended break
www.mtgix.com is a scam - so far as i can see

i have tested it to buy 1 btc, but before finishing i realized that they have cut my BTC-address, which i had to copy in for buying, up to 2 signs at the end...

then i would have got some laughter but no coins, if i had payed for the one btc with PayPal Wink

It is a pure, complete scam. The owners (presumably some students in a Chinese university) have made a few similar scam sites (mtgax.com etc) and spammed their own site here on a regular basis.

Well, who would trust a site whose name and logo are an obvious ripoff of a known site?

Thanks for the heads up anyway.
