probably purchased with a stolen credit card gotta be more careful

At the time of my research, librty was also selling a method in these forums that he claimed to NOT be black hat, and one that user Gyfts reviewed and verified to be legitimate. I had assumed that he was using this method, and that they were likely not purchased using a stolen card.

 When will users learn to use escrows or at least view the trust rating of the person they are dealing with first.

I did my research. I examined librty thoroughly for a long time before entering a deal. At the time of my deal, he appeared to be a trustworthy user. Following my deal is when other postings appeared that accused him of the same thing, and is when the negative trust was posted to his account.

I am new, and so I 1) did not fully understand escrow, 2) did not think that it was worth it for only $20, and 3) got the impression that since I was new and librty was not, he was unwilling to do escrow.  Sure, this was probably a sign of what was to come -- but I decided to take the leap and trust for the $20.  I had already waited about a week for the BTC to be deposited into my Coinbase account (I did not have my debit/credit card linked at the time, and so the BTC purchase was not immediate), and did not feel like waiting much longer to deal with escrow.  Again, this was my mistake.

What happened:  I attempted to purchase an Xbox Live code from user librty for the price of $20 for 12 months.  When I sent the BTC through Coinbase, librty responded with a code for Xbox Live via PM.  I immediately chatted with Microsoft to confirm that the code was valid, but upon chatting, discovered that the code was "deactivated."  I attempted to contact librty in order to let him know and to receive a new code, but librty has yet to respond.

I apologize that the images are links and not embedded in the post, but I cannot figure out how to embed them.  Clicking "Insert Image" sadly does not work...

User librty has logged on and almost positively seen my message, and this also shows that he has not logged on in a few days, perhaps due to the negative feedback that he is receiving.  Note that there is now negative trust due to other scams:

Time difference included from my clock and the forum (does anyone know how to fix this??), in case anyone is comparing the times of the PMs, Microsoft chats, etc.:
