OP, you should provide what's the name of the account that was sold to you so the DT members can tag them to render the account useless.
What will happen if anyone/DT tag the account which has been sold/bought?? If you think that it will decay the reputation of the account then I want to let you know that the id is "emmnazady". Probably you have not read the OP. If you read, then you could know the username as well as you could know that the account is already banned.

Why console the OP? And also ask him where and from whom he bought an account? If he himself made a mistake in the purchased account, then I have no doubt he will go back to the seller and buy another account. If he was deceived, then it is worth applauding. After all, what he wanted to come to the forum with is deception. Justice has triumphed, but the funny thing is that the OP asks for help from those whom he tried to deceive himself, impersonating another account.
The OP's account is also purchased, but apparently, for the one where he planned to participate with her, it is not enough to have an old registration date, so the OP had to fork out and buy an account at a higher price.
But something went wrong Smiley  Grin Grin Grin

Haven't you noticed one thing in the case. The OP told everything but he is hiding the seller identity. He is not telling the seller telegram id or the seller bitcointalk account.
What could be the reason for this ? May be he wants to buy another account or something  Huh

actually the account has been disclosed @dkbit98. and also confirmed by the OP. as well as tags that are already attached to traded accounts.
I would like to bring in notice that i have been scammed for 230$ on buying the account.
Are you talking about this account emmnazady?

Yes

however, with the money the OP has already spent, no one can guarantee a return. except for the buyer himself who will return it with humility.
Thank you for the clarification, good thing that a tag has been added on it to prevent any form of exchange of owner. There's no guarantee that the money will be returned, pretty sure that the person that sold it had that in mind already and they know that it's what they're going to do when the sale of the account gets disclosed.

Consider contacting police or hire private investigator, although it's likely you'll waste your time and money.
I don't think the police would help ~ If you give crypto to anyone unknown person online, it's gone forever. The important thing for OP is to learn the lesson and stop trusting people online.
I agree police on many country won't help in such cases, but what other option does OP have?
Sometimes it's best to take your losses and move on. This is one of those cases. Even if the police would entertain OP (which isn't likely), and even if they find whoever scammed him (which is very unlikely), the scammer is probably in another country and it's equally unlikely for the police to make an international case out of this.
TL;DR: see bold parts.

In a way OP is lucky: He learned a valuable lesson that others have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for, and he got that lesson at a relative bargain!

I'm not sure, but I don't think the seller scammed OP. If he was willing to scam him and run away with the money why would he send him the user credentials in first place!
I believe the Cryptios or the forum software locked the account because of suspecious activities.
Here is a similar case:
Well spotted! It appears that this account has indeed changed hands as the email address was changed on July 22, 2017, alongside with posting and IP patterns. I've now locked it! In the meantime, DT members can go ahead and paint it red until (and if) we determine the real owner.

Thank you for bringing this up!

OP shot himself in the foot by exposing the bought account instead of claiming it back. Has justice been served?!

I am not begging, i am seeking justice.
Strange your forum forbids begging but allows scams.
Justice? Here is your Justice,

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
And;

19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).
The forum discouraged you from buying accounts, did you follow that? Forum told scam or possible scam isn't moderated here, did you follow that? You ignored both warnings. How does the forum allow scams?

Tell me how can prevent accounts sales? It would moderate in the forum only if the admin wants. But seems you deal via Telegram, so how the forum admin could moderate Telegram? How the forum will detect you are going to buy an account. How forum will detect sellers will scam you? Give me an answer then I will raise the question.

I don't think the police would help us in any way if we are scammed through social media and above that if crypto is involved in it. At least in my country, no authority will help in such cases. If you want to ask for justice then you should calm with a clean hand. But you have come and asking judgment while you hand is like a garbage. So, it is not a perfect decision of you. If you came here with a scam which done with you on a legal trade then people on the forum could be with you. But you cam here after buying an account which is unethical.

LoyceV, can you please return my money ?
No I can't. What makes you think I have your money?
No, you do not have my money but i see you are a admin and a good person who helps others.
I'm not an admin, and I'm not in business of compensating people who claim they gave their money to a scammer.
You really have to work on your observation skills, which might help recognize an obvious scam before it happens again.

I am not begging, i am seeking justice.
Justice would be getting it back from the scammer. What you're looking for is a donation, and even if someone would give you $230, that's not justice, it's just moving the damage to someone else.

how did you find the seller, and what made you trust a random stranger on the internet with $230 worth of untraceable immutable internet money?
I get the feeling this has nothing to do with the forum "allowing" scams. If you got scammed on (what looks like) Telegram, complain to them.

Strange your forum forbids begging but allows scams.
If you are acquainted to this forum and know what is going on here, you will know that scam is handled perfectly. Scam is not moderated, but scam posts or contents are usually reported and removed by moderators. A user can be flagged, if truly it is a scam account. Others will support the flag and it will appear to other users how the user is a scammer and what has resulted to the flag can be clearly click on and see.  Another is giving of negative trust to the accounts that are not reputed but also that can be used to scam, just like yours so that other newbies can know how 'about buying and selling Bitcointalk account' can result to scam in many ways.

If you are requesting the admin to give you your money when they weren't the one that scammed you. All I noticed is that you are indirectly begging, that is against the forum rules which can lead to permaban in your case.

You are breaking forum rules now,
7. No begging

Begging isn't allowed in the forum. Why do you feel someone else should give compensation for your fund that you have been trying to use illegal way? Anyone from the forum forced you to buy an account? Why admins or forum users will help you? It's just nonsense expectation.

By the way, LoyceV isn't an admin. Yes, good person and helping others always. But not enough good to help account buyers as far as I know.

So Sorry. This is just what account sales can result to, you do not know the identity of the person that scammed you (if truly you were scammed).

People can try their best to teach people how to avoid scam, but it would be hard for someone to pay/help a stranger all because the stranger was scammed. If this is what you meant. And there is no solid evidence that you were even scammed

All I can advise you is to just let it be a bygone, forget about it and move on.

Aren't you bitcoin's CEO? Ouch, you gave me the wrong impression aswell... Stop fooling around and cancel the transaction already Wink
What will you say next, that we don't speak the same language?  Tongue
--/joking--

@OP: bitcoin is irreversible and not governed by anybody. The only one that can give you your money back (at least, refund an equal amount) is the person that scammed you. If this wasn't LoyceV, there is nothing he can do.
You trusted the wrong person and got scammed... It's perfectly fine to open a scam accusation here, but all we can do is tag the scammer so others get a warning and he cannot make a lot of new victims (at least, if the scammer is a member of bitcointalk and you provide strong proofs). You could also go to your local police office and file a complaint, but the odds of them caring AND having the knowledge to even understand what happened to you are small (very, very, very small).

I'm sorry, but not sorry. Buying Bitcointalk account isn't advised thing to do. You accepted risk by buying account from random stranger without any precautions like escrow. There is not much what we can do now because we don't know any details about scammer and username of his main Bitcointalk account. Only thing which can be done is tagging account which was sold, but nobody will not return you $230. Accept it as expensive lesson.
Wait, is LoyceV the account seller?

That'd put him on the naughty list for sure.
This thread edcalated into quite unexpected direction. What else we don't know about LoyceV yet?

You are searching justice while you have tried to buy an account from a long time and for that reason you have got negative trusts from defaulted trusted users but on that time you have not learned your lesson but you have now learned lesson and it is the perfect judgement for you.

Before being sympathy on the buyer (OP), we need to see this account history. It was registered in 2016 with two posts only. I don't think he could be a newbie in the forum. This may be an alt of any farm accounts.
I guess I wasn't clear: I'm not sympathetic whatsoever with OP's predicament.  And you're probably right about him being part of an alt account farm, though I'd love to see more evidence on that point before casting judgement.  But that's what account farmers and campaign/bounty participants who cheat do, right?  They buy accounts to add to their collection, with older, more ranked-up accounts commanding a premium.  If OP was an experienced account buyer or seller, though, you would think he'd be a little more savvy about sending money to someone he didn't know for an account.  Who knows?

I'm trying to get a first-hand view into the mind of an account buyer here Cheesy
Sheeeit, LoyceV.  This wasn't your first opportunity to do so.  This was probably your 10,000th.  Surely you can just use your imagination or go with what I wrote about the dollar signs in OP's eyes if you're really curious.  It's not likely OP is going to return to satisfy anybody's curiosity about what was going through his greasy head when he decided to buy an account from a total stranger on whatever platform that was that he used.  It had to be greed and a touch of ignorance.

C'mon LoyceV, you've seen people do that and worse a thousand times on bitcointalk.  When it comes to getting a Sr. Member account in the era of merits, I bet OP had big cartoon-type dollar signs in his eyes when he thought of all the money he could earn by getting ahold of one and enrolling it in a signature campaign.  I hate to ever say I like to see people get scammed, but in this case I'll just say that this was an expensive lesson for someone who was engaging in a shady practice and I'm short on sympathy for people like that.

This is an example from where account traders should get a lesson. By the way, I am wondering why do you need to buy an account? You are already a member of this forum. Why its necessary to buy an account? Signature campaign? It's quite impossible to join a good payment campaign with a good manager with a sold account. Only spammers try to buy accounts. Eventually, the account would be worthless even you succeed to make us fool.

That's the point.

The most likely scenario is that he wanted to make it profitable with a shitty bounty campaign or shitty Bitcoin paid campaigns like the 1Xbit one. A good forum member, who is a decent poster, no need to be exceptional, can make a good extra income with signature campaigns without the need to buy accounts.

Sorry OP, no one is going to feel sorry for you for being scammed when buying an account.

Had you attempted to reset your password via a secret question? If so then it's your fault. Usually, an account is locked when someone tries to reset the password via secret question. If the attempt is held by the seller, then you were scammed. This is expected actually when you try to buy an account. Although account trading isn't against forum rules, it's highly discouraged by the community. There is a risk of getting tagged always when revealed a sold account.

I did notice a lot of changes on BPIP website for his profile, indicating that account probably changed hands maybe even several times.
Instead of wasting money being scammer and risking to lose money, better start fresh and build new account yourself, like most of us did.

Account sales are allowed but should be discouraged according the the rules of this forum. This is exactly the reason established members always give negative trust to account sellers if known.

You have bought a banned account, that is the issue. So sorry for the loss, you have truly been successfully scammed if truly it happened the way you explained, but nothing to prove that.
