We have three people who have been scammed. Aayush, Thedore1, Micky and I bet there would be a lot of others as well. I will get the FIR filed in Delhi so that the issue gets a bit expedited. Everyone can mail their documents and communication with this scammer to Aayush or you can mail it to me directly as well. My mail id is [email protected]

Happy Hunting the Scammer!!!! Cool

I was not scammed by him, i nearly scammed the scammer Tongue

I am really sad, he never tried with me.

This idiot tried to scam me twice. I have his BTC address and phone number. True caller says that he is based somewhere in Chattisgarh (Number: 7836923038). He gave me his email address: [email protected]
his BTC address is 14ivd4ePwYA6ciSwxMxuLdMJdpqNuPbfip. Looks like he has scammed people of 118 BTC when you check the transactions on blockchain. He is gambling with the money currently.

He also tried to impersonate Anup from LB, not sure if that would further add up to charging him under more sections of the IPC! I have the whatsapp log of my conversation with him.

The last time ayush tried to take action, the cops chased him away, hence couldn't we call the guy at odd times of the night to disturb him? Maybe flood him with messages on whatsapp and otherwise? I know this sounds childish, but what else can be done when the people who are supposed to protect us from such anti-social elements are shooing us away! Sad

Looks like a lot of fund to this address is from gambling sites. Are u sure 14ivd4ePwYA6ciSwxMxuLdMJdpqNuPbfip is his address ?
[/quote]

This was the address that he gave me when he thought that he had convinced me that he was anup from LB. When you raised this question, i just went back to check and ensure i had the address right and it was!
Unless our man has sold his wallet to someone else, i think that is his BTC address. Scammers generally are big gamblers from what i see.. they take a chance at being caught and put behind bars Smiley

He probably would just switch off his phone at night.  Cheesy

Doubt this, a scammer has no time of operation like a 9 - 5 job Wink. From what i hear, he has scammed people abroad as well. He contacted me around 12:00AM IST to try and scam me!

Maybe I have been sleeping under a rock .. but ... what exactly has (s)he done?

subvolatil, can you update the OP with links and some summary of the case? Generally people will be more interested if there is info and links to stories from victims.

I thought  every one knew who this  guy was. Basically this  guy scams any one new to bitcoin and runs away with their money, We believe  there are more of his victims that have not come  forward.  any ways i will link to  the scam  accusation from the reputation thread.

Guys I think all the people who have been scammed at some stage or recently should post the name and details of the scammer, if any. Just by appreciating the effort it wont do any gud. Subvolatil has already made his contribution and so should others, if not in bounty then by listing the scammers. I would try my best to hunt these guys down with the help of knowledge and force of courts. I would want the victims from Delhi (Specially) to step up and tell about it.

This has been  a  long time coming.

the community  needs  to  stick  together and protect it self from bad actors. We need the  scammers to know that they  try to  scam anyone there is  a  community  willing to  get  justice.

I will again reiterate that i alone can't do this, and requires the community to step up and protect each other. I will spark the light, but we need to kindle this flame into a raging fire.

a strong community would mean a strong and prosperous bitcoin future for all.

It is interesting to see that the Indian Bitcoin community is standing together to prosecute a scammer. I wish this sends +ve signal to the authorities, if they are watching this move.

I agree with this completely, if we do not do this, then it is an invitation for someone to come in and regulate and that would suck.

I see that people want to get rid of scammers very much Smiley

I believe a dark days for scammers are on the way. When we will unite there will be no posibility to just scam and walk away.

We will hunt you. We will find you. You will pay.

No remorse! No regret!
