After reading your replies, I will have to admit that I didn't thoroughly think about it, and you guys have a valid point indeed. I got this idea from another forum, and unlike Bitcointalk forum, that forum disallows multiple accounts and the use of proxies and VPNs which makes this system perfect.

Then you should lock this thread before the signature spammers see it and gave their respective opinion regarding this matter. Im sure you got already answer that you want.

But scammers list is a good idea but your suggestion regarding trust system will make this forum in chaos. Thanks for opening this kind of suggestion. I got some pointers on the answer of stuff. Smiley

In each user profile, there is a number and that number represent the number of scam accusation opened against him (It would be nice if this figure
appears in RED color in the Postbit as well) and those numbers are collected from the Scam accusation sections.

What's to stop trolls just repeatedly opening up scam accusations against you? I don't think there's really anything wrong with the current format of opening up a scam accusation and letting the community weigh in and both parties to explain what went wrong and why so I don't think this is needed and would likely just be abused.

the forum will be full of member with red trust if this gonna happened. And i search about OP. and i found out that he always start a thread of discussion and many accusation.. can you please lock the thread you started that have a 10 pages and above.

i think if you want to make database. make sure that you list a legit scammer and not the accuse member. because it can be use for extortion in other member.
that's all.

How It require constant updating? The forum software should do all the work, from getting info from the Scam accusation section to everything else.
As for A, I honestly don't think It requires much work, just another column in the user's table for the value for the value in user's profiles + a method to read the UID from titles, and that's pretty much it.
So you're telling me that every scam accusation is a valid one? I don't think I need to tell you why that is bad. The problem lies in the automated process which can be abused:

In each user profile, there is a number and that number represent the number of scam accusation opened against him (It would be nice if this figure appears in RED color in the Postbit as well) and those numbers are collected from the Scam accusation sections.
A newbie or two open several threads about you, and there you end up with several (invalid) accusations labeled in red on your profile.

As Bitcointalk is one of the forums where scammers don't get banned, and sometimes If a DefaultTrust user misses a post in the Scam accusation, the scammer won't get any red trust.

Then notify them.

I was thinking, in making a scammers database (I'm not sure If the name fits).

You can do this yourself by creating a thread and keeping it up to date, but you'll soon realise how much work it is.

I dislike the idea because:
A) It requires a lot of work.
B) It requires constant updating by the staff members (or admin), whereas it was stated that we don't moderated scams.
C) It doesn't do much, as we already have DT for that.

Alternatively you could start up a thread called e.g. "[User Generated] Database of known Scammers" and keep track of this yourself. Just make sure to make it self-moderated.

The only issue I can think of is that users won't follow the format to post the scam accusations but once again ... I think this can be solved by forcing users to use a proper format to be able to post.

To make things cleaner, It would be better If there are two separate sections for both users & services In the scam accusation section but I guess It still could work even If we keep the section like it is right now.

The idea is for users mostly but could apply for services I suppose.

To make this work, users should post in a proper format where the UID of the user is included, something like (title of the thread):

UID:35 - Scammed me 500$ PayPal (not , theymos didn't scam me  Roll Eyes )

In each user profile, there is a number and that number represent the number of scam accusation opened against him (It would be nice if this figure appears in RED color in the Postbit as well) and those numbers are collected from the Scam accusation sections.

There should be also a button in the thread where the scam accusation can be marked as "settled" If whoever opened the scam accusation wants to withdraw his accusations .

I'm not sure If the idea is good or bad , so I'd like to hear from you guys. Idea is very basic at the moment but could definitely be improved .
