The next BTC or ETH killer or any other word like that to attract your investment through any of the underdevelopment projects is nothing else but a scam.

It was hard for me to believe that in 2021 and 2022 a fellow of mine said what do you do these days I said nothing just a bit active in the crypto market he said I'd created a crypto earning group can you join I said why not but when I get to know that in that group people are talking about the main team and earn through the networking I was shocked haha as most of my local would know from 2018 to early 2021 there was the craze of the adds earning aka Pyramid scheme earning projects.

Haha, and that was happening in crypto too where people were crazy to make money from crypto but it was nothing just a scam scheme by using a different payment method.

Scammers are everywhere, be it bull or bear season, but it mostly become rampant when bull season is approaching. And the best way to get rid all of them, educate yourself from the different signs and strategies of scammers because that’s the only way you will recognize if that certain thing is a scam or not. Beware of too good to be true offers, and be skeptical when someone promises of guaranteed gains as there’s no such guarantees in all investments that carry risks.

This particular period is when the crypto scammers are most active and believe me they are at it more than you can think of, be if any kind of method they try to come at you, just stay focus and stick to the initial plans you had because where they start to get hold of people is when you are not certain and you start entertaining the idea at which is presented at your then that's when everything starts to get bad because a curious and naive mind would always want to try out things.

Scammers are always active at all times, but they often get opportunities during a bull run due to the influx of newbies entering the cryptocurrency industry without a certain level of knowledge. The truth is, even if someone is new to crypto, if they are not overly eager to make money quickly, they will hardly fall into scammers' hands.

One of the main reasons many people become victims of scammers is their mindset of getting rich quickly. Many scammers use the tactic of promising multiple investment returns. One way someone can avoid scammers is by staying updated on the tactics scammers use. Without knowing the methods scammers employ, anyone can become a victim. For example, someone might send a suspicious link, and if it is clicked, the scammer may gain access to their wallet. That is why it is crucial to avoid clicking on links carelessly.

This time around is good for each an everyone to be very careful with the scammers, because I can see that this days the scammers are getting worst by getting access of the people property if even though a person think his wise is smart the scammers are very smarter than, since their always on their research every blessing day on how they can get to access to the people’s wallet.

But I think if we try as much possible and secure our private key of our wallet in a cool place that nobody can able to get access to it accept you the owner, there’s no way a scammers can get easily to hack our wallet the problem of some people is that some people are very careless; that’s why most of things happen to then I think it’s very important for to learn on how to guide our wallet during bull time.

Scammers knows during the bull market that a lot of newbie investors would come into the market seeking opportunities to make money, especially they come looking for coins that would make them 1000x, so here the Scammers comes in with those crypto projects promising people 1000x, and guess who their victims are gonna be? Mostly the newbies, and some greedy old experienced investors.

As new it's advisable to stay away from memes and shitcoins and only Buy Bitcoin until they get experiences to invest other cryptos like SOL, XRP, BNB and ETH.

There are so many scammers in the bull season, there are many opportunities to get rich in bull season too.

The current hype where Trump and Melania create their own meme coins with name "Official" and then their name, there are many scammers create another meme coins with name "Official" and then the popular person.

There are Official Elon, Official Vitalik, Official Barron, Official Simpson etc.

...Currently their are surge of different sites and channel that are crypto related and many newbie are out there looking for that one step that would get them rich with them totally forgetting that no crypto project is a get rich scheme especially not BITCOIN...

Obviously, you are making this conclusion because you yourself have recently become familiar with cryptocurrencies and, accordingly, everything is new to you. Scammers are always active in both a bear market and a bull market, it's just that newcomers who end up falling victim to scammers are the most active in a bull market.

The best thing to stay safe from these scammers is for you to always do your own research and not to rely on the the crypto channel or group you found yourself.  In crypto channel their are many people whose intentions, and these are just channels that are not being regulated, anybody can be there to do whatever they like.

One thing about crypto if you engage with people online which you don't even know them, their are good possibilities that you may even end up getting scam. Do your own research and get good understanding to do things for yourself and to make your own decision because  cryptocurrency is personal, you have to protect it yourself.

  • Last but not least - if you own cryptocurrencies, store them in hardware wallets or properly made cold wallets if possible. Never save your backup online or as unprotected data on your computer/smartphone. Also, forget about downloading pirated software, cracks and multimedia from the internet - in most cases, viruses and malware that specifically target your wallets are hiding there.
If they are to use an online wallet, why download softwares in same device. It should be air-gapped atleast.

If you think about the fact that many people use their CEXs accounts to store cryptocurrencies, and at the same time use desktop wallets, it's not surprising - because some trade on a daily basis and it doesn't make sense to withdraw coins to desktop wallets every day because it's simply too expensive.

What is only correct in such cases is to keep most of our coins in desktop/hardware wallets, and only what is necessary where we trade. Of course, the alternative is to use DEX, which gives us much more control over our coins. Cold wallets are the safest, but I think that such a setup is only practiced by those who have coins of very high value - because although an airgapped wallet is a great thing, for some it is not entirely practical to sign transactions on offline devices and then transfer them to online devices and broadcast them from there.

Too many people still think that nothing bad will happen to them until it does - and then in most cases it's game over.

Funny enough that even when our critical mindsets must have whispered us that a so called introduced coin is a scam, we sometimes out of ignorant plays deaf towards the suspicious thoughts just as said... Out of curiosities and desperations to get not just rich but a quick rich would then be a daring of them to invest their money as being instructed and presented by the scammers.

I don't know when people especially newbies would have that believe that not every things that glitters are gold because to my best of knowledge, these victims to scams are people who are muchly attracted to hyping opportunities such as the shit pump and dump coins.

There is absolutely no safe tool of your funds especially chasing after incomes that is better than the endeavoured of making researches and consults about an opened opportunities before keying in to invest your fund on.

Based on my research, one secret to investors fallen victims to scammers is when they want to take their relatives and the public unaware to overnight get rich. So they refuses to enquire before investing their funds and later on the regrets every of their greedy and ignorant actions.

Crypto scams have a hundred faces. They vary so much so that some of them make you poor while some make you rich. Crypto scams aren't just those who pretend as official support staff of exchanges, or those who ask for your private keys, those malicious links in emails and other private messages, or services offering x100 ROI in a matter of days, and the like.

Crypto scams could be in the form of Trump Coin or Melania Meme. Such scams abound during bull seasons. And if you're foolish yet lucky and not so greedy, you could actually make some quick and easy money.

It is nice you have brought up this topic for discussion and to remind us of the season we are currently in. As we all know, the bull season is always very attractive to both scammers and investors and both always want to take advantage of the opportunities when they avail themselves as investors are always on the losing side of it all due to scams.  We just have to be extremely careful with projects we deal with, we should take time to do our proper research before attempting to invest in any crypto project.

Another thing we should avoid is unsolicited messages from unknown accounts to our dm. Scammers send random messages to people with phishing links which if clicked by the recipient, grant or steal information from the account holder to the scammer which they use to undo the person. Do not respond to pms you have no clues about and remember if you belong to a telegram community, know that admins and mods do not pm first so if anybody pms you claiming to be a mod or admin to help you out, tag them on the group you belong in common and block them instantly.

Do away with fake signal groups as that is another way they get at people, they promote fake projects and lure people to invest, hold, or buy the tokens they are calling and after that, they sometimes delete the group or block and remove anybody who discovers their tricks and wants to expose them and their secrets.

Lastly, one thing I would advise is that investors should always have patience because, from the little research I have done, patience seems to be the issue with investors as they are in a hurry to invest forgetting that there are things they would need to put into considerations before investing their funds but for the fact that they want quick money and see the market in a bull they fail to acknowledge the fact that the market is volatile and anything can happen. Patience is all it takes to get things rightly done if you must succeed in the crypto space.

They are all over the market, even in bear market you cand find them plowing and looking for victims, specially those who are not technically inclined or shall we say those who are elderly because this scammers knows that they can really take advantage of their age.

As for this market, yeah, too good to be true offer, or those who ask you to download something in your pc or laptop. 99% this are scammers and trying to install some kind of malware into your system. And sometimes they go and email us, they know where and how to get our crypto base emails and once you just lost focus for a minute and click it, then it's over. So we really need to be vigilant and be self-aware of this kind of attack vectors from this cyber criminals.
Maybe they didn't notice that there's no exact market condition does this scammers will take action. They are just there waiting for opportunity to attack their victims that's why people need to know how to deal with situations also the offers they might possibly seen online.

Also its really good to anyone if they know the different schemes used by scammers and for sure that this is helpful for them not to fall from any type of scams spreading. Although we cannot deny that maybe we feel that scamming attempts increase in bull season since we maybe see the numbers of project raised this is why its good to verify always if we are dealing with good projects and ask for feed backs if they are doubting or totally not sure on those things that catch their interest.

Well thats because many wanted to be rich and change their life. Me too sometimes Ive got hopeful to some of the crypto Id encounter and becoming bullish that this might be the game changer on my life. Everyone has that on their pace of their life clinging to that belief. But we must be cautious on what we should do cause its always a risk and there are some who will take advantage of newbies and beginners.

I guess this particular season can be given special treatment in terms of warning because the surge this period is way bigger than every other period so this particular sounding of warning to users with social media accounts can steer up a seed in theit action for them to be extra careful of things they do especially when it comes to the Elon musk platform X and telegram which somewhat like a community for them.

Scammers are always active, but whenever we are in a bull run, we are going to start seeing new people joining the crypto space, and we all know that newbies are the people that scammers are always targeting, because they are the ones that are easily going to fall for their tricks. People that have been in the crypto space for the long term will already have experience about most of those strategies.

When the bull run starts, we are going to start seeing different trading signal groups. We will start seeing different people creating groups, claiming they are professional traders, and will request for some money before the person will be added to the group. We are soon going to be seeing different scam coins entering the market, and after making their money, they will dump it on people, we just have to be careful when the bull run starts.

Anyone looking for an easy way to get rich in the crypto space is definitely going to be scammed at the end because they are going to fall into the wrong hands, thats  when you are going to see some of them putting money in some exchange that has promised them a high return and will call it a bitcoin investment, and at the end, they will end up being scammed.

How to easily protect yourself from online scams?

  • To begin with, don't tell known and unknown people that you own cryptocurrencies, because that way you draw attention to yourself and become a potential target.
The idea that prevention is better than cure is great. Your first step to being safe is not to be a target. When anyone knowingly or unknowingly exposes themselves that they own bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, they become scammers target.

  • Furthermore, do not believe in fairy tales and stay away from social networks as much as possible, especially in the context of any investments.
Simply put it that, no one should trust any random social media guy for investment advice or opportunities.

Its the scammer's favorite season if you have social media and are active on cryptocurrency. You will see tons of ads related to cryptocurrency, like an exchange where you are invited to download and get bonuses for installing their software.
These scammers spend a lot of money on these ads because they know that its the season where greedy investors are turning blind to what they see.
Two sets of people are making a lot of money here, and its not the investors but the scam developers and hackers, so if you don't want to be on their list, educate yourself on how these scammers work.

This particular period is when the crypto scammers are most active and believe me they are at it more than you can think of

Scammers are always active and at the evil they love doing, because they don't relent for anything until they achieve their targets to scam, what is only different here is their routes in which they use as entry points, and that is why we also have to be always updated on the latest techniques used by these scammers to lure and deceive people until they hunt them down, once we are informed, we cant be deformed by them.

And some ways you get to know these things are scam is when what they promised is too good to be true,

I think the kind of scammers outside for hunt nowadays have gone far beyond using this kind of tricks, because they know that it has already been casted, people no longer fall for such as its now a common criteria to look in for, scammers have now advanced in what they do, they make it looks more real by being adding professionalism in what they do, so that they make it looks real or identical to the real one you might thought of.

Crypto scammers can be active anytime because they know that newbies are coming every day, and some of these newbies are joining the crypto space not because of the love they have for crypto, but for the love of money, which is ok, but they are always eager to make it quick, and since crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme, they end up falling victim to several scams.

And some ways you get to know these things are scam is when what they promised is too good to be true, some of us lie to ourselves so we get to believe what is being presented at our front because greed and curiosity wants every part of it to be true.

Currently their are surge of different sites and channel that are crypto related and many newbie are out there looking for that one step that would get them rich with them totally forgetting that no crypto project is a get rich scheme especially not BITCOIN.

Please let's stay guided and be careful not only hyped up because the bull market is close by the corner because the good wishes can turn out to be something different.
When a newbie is after making quick money, they will be willing to accept any offer that will give them a huge return, not knowing that it is all a trap for them to lose their money.
Greed is the main factor that is affecting both the newbies and some of our traders or investors, which is what is leading to falling victim of scam because scammers are everywhere, willing to also make it quick.

If I am not mistakenly I have shared something like this before and we need to be very mindful with the way scammer are using different methods to attack and steal people's funds, we need to be careful with the way they introduce us to some sites which might be trap for people to fall victim and we should mind how we connect our wallet online and jump into making quick investment to make profits.

Each day scammers are developing new ways of stealing from people. That is why we should always update our knowledge regarding security. Greed is the common reason why people become victims. And during the bull run more people rush to invest in the crypto industry. Many of them see the crypto space as a get rich quick, which is why it is easy to scam them. I usually suggest to newbies to focus only on Bitcoin investment until they have had enough knowledge to navigate the complex altcoin sector. Using a hardware wallet is also essential and for those who use online wallets, they should be careful of clicking on suspected links. It will be difficult to scam anybody who is not greedy, hence let's do our research and not always be moved to invest because of large or quick returns.

There will always be scammers almost every year, even in the bullrun season there will be more, I can already anticipate.

Too good to be true? Then this is like a ponzi scheme, you don't want to be offered an investment with an unreasonable ROI.
Avoid the usual memecoin trade, the developer will take profit in community purchases, so it is difficult to find diamonds in memes.
Do not publicize your crypto asset ownership because there have been many cases like this where they were stabbed or blackmailed to get your assets.

So be careful, because in the crypto world you don't even realize you're being scammed.

If you think that investing in cryptocurrency is a get-rich scheme and you let your intention known to the investing community, you are an easy target by scammers. I have seen so many newbies asking what memes will give them profit openly, not knowing they are being watched, and will soon get an invitation to invest in one meme.
Scammers are good at convincing people, shilling their coin/token, and creating FOMO, so if you show your greediness, you will soon be out of luck.

They are good because they know exactly what you want and need and they present it to you because they know you will be too naive to even know its a scam and so many times these eager minds have fell victim because of the lack of research and ofcourse the thrilling urge to actually make money on a very quick instance which is the cause of every downfall of someone who thinks making money is as easy as ABC.

Then the rise of many telegram channels promising newbies that they will make money if they join their Airdrop channel. Another scam channel for new entrants. When they get scammed, they will make the excuse that it is crypto and they were told to invest what they can afford to lose.

Very true as this is the phase when every youtuber or influencer because crypto expert and you get to see so many crypto schemes promising good returns but trust me they are scam and we should control our emotions and learn from the past because no matter how much ever we create awareness o lli see people falling bait to fancy scams. It's better to stick to the basics and no matter how little or no profit you earn it's better to learn trading rather than joining any scam channels. Telegram has been a key channel for them to reach out to peole to find targets.

It is not easy for any beginner in any field to be accurate and able to pay attention to every detail. The field of crypto in particular is not easy to understand its basics and its rules (protocole) in a short period of time, especially if the person is eager for quick profit, it is easy to scam him.
In many cases, it has reached the point that people who have made profits are tracked and bargained for their lives or possessions in exchange for paying a ransom or giving their private keys. The matter may turn into a risk in many cases if the person tells everything to strangers and on social media, making it easy to monitor and target him.

Most scams are traps for greedy people, the crypto space is often filled with many too good to be true opportunities. Not only newbies, but even experienced people in the field of crypto fall to the temptation of trying to get rich quick and end up being scammed.

Here are some common red flags you should look out for when considering new crypto investments:
  • Promises of quick and easy profits with little to no risk
  • Pressure to act quickly, often with urgent or time-sensitive offers
  • Vague or missing details about the project, team or technology behind it
  • False claims of endorsements or fake testimonials to make it seem more trustworthy
https://www.bitpanda.com/academy/en/lessons/how-to-spot-and-avoid-common-crypto-scams/

I also think you should know about Rug pulls and how it affects investors.

What is a rug pull?
The term "rug pull" metaphorically describes the act of pulling the rug from under someone, leaving investors destabilised. In the world of decentralised finance (DeFi) and cryptocurrencies, a rug pull is a scam where project developers withdraw all funds from a project and abandon it. The project loses its value, leaving investors with worthless tokens or coins.

True, I recently received news that Linux and macOS users should also have keen eyes, no matter how many people here talk about the best and safest systems. Fraudsters are actively developing various viruses and spies, not only for Windows systems. As the news says, "Fake Homebrew infects macOS and Linux machines with a stealer." Many Linux users love free software. "Criminals use Google Ads to disguise themselves as the Homebrew website and distribute malware for Mac and Linux, which steals credentials, browser information, and cryptocurrency wallet data." Therefore, it is necessary to regularly follow the news about various cyberattacks, viruses, and ways to secure your gadgets and devices.

How to easily protect yourself from online scams?

  • To begin with, don't tell known and unknown people that you own cryptocurrencies, because that way you draw attention to yourself and become a potential target.
  • Furthermore, do not believe in fairy tales and stay away from social networks as much as possible, especially in the context of any investments.

Bull or bear market, scammers are always there, and wait for chances to scam greedy people who have more greed than enough to be scammed, too careless and too unknowledgeable as well as lack of experience.

Between bear and bull market, bull market is a more perfect opportunity for scammers to do their jobs. Check their Github activities, commits, and you can see part of their project activities and quality.

Altcoin season, scam altcoin projects will appear. Check their Githubs first.

Most of the scams will not have a Github repository. They have closed-source codebases designed so that nobody can audit the code and see when someone might actually rug-pull the project. It is easier to steal from your own users nowadays than it is to build something and contribute meaningfully to the crypto industry. A real crypto project will have a regular, frequent commits.

Very true, there is a surge in the creation of altcoins and meme coins everywhere and almost everyday now because they understand the urgency and rush in the crypto atmosphere this period especially with the media and blowing things out of proportion in how easy it is to make money trading crypto however there steps to avoiding the scam for newbies especially

1  Durabilty: make sure that the company, exchange or person you want to trade with has been in the game long enough, don't just jump in and start buying or selling make sure you make your findings before trading

2  Track record: even if the system or individual has a good rating or  positive track record over time because sometimes durability is not enough, find out people they have had transactions with in the past if possible

3  Proper knowledge: make sure you know what you are doing, don't just jump in because someone asked you to, crypto curr3ncy as usually long term investments so no need for a rush take your time and do the proper research

4 patience: have at the back of your mind crypto trading is not a get rich quick scheme even though the market has the capacity to give you a substantial amount of wealth within just a short period of time if you put money in the right coin at the right time but often times it won't happen as quick as you think or want so learn patience
