Ignorance is one disease that can lead any individual astray. Well in the case of scam it's not necessarily ignorance alone that the major features scammers prey on but vulnerability when one loses there guard they leave them self exposed to all sort of menace

I would like to add that Scammers prey on ignorance and greed, in addition to ignorance, greed is also an important reason for being cheated.
I have seen some veterans in crypto still being deceived, not because of ignorance, but because of greed, they lost more money in order to obtain negligible benefits.
This is not only in crypto, almost all scams are like this.

Don't forget that fear is another emotion that can leave people open to scams.
I don't get it, jet cash please can you explain your statement. I thought the fear (an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm) itself should save you from the scam not lead you into it. Or am i missing something?

When a person is innocent, they tend to have their defences low, barely built at all, and they tend to ask around and therefore show in broad day light their lack of knowledge
I beg to disagree a little bit, aren't there enough tools, probably on the internet,in this forum and elsewhere to get a noob in trading get started, without having to seek for knowledge from the wrong or illicit source..
When one comes on board in an unfamiliar territory, the right thing to do will be read about the mistakes of others in the past(the internet provides us this)and learn not to make such mistakes..
And in this modern world there are many tools at our disposal for us to learn even without a tutor per se

Also groups have an orientation message stating some type of safety rule(no member of the admin would privately want to do business, every link must be from an admin) and so many other rules but individuals ignorantly still evade and most time fall prey.

I think in addition to ignorance this can also be caused by greed and curiosity. Some individuals might have a good orientation or knowledge about scam but still has a high level of greed and curiosity and feels they can gain from every possible means leaving them self vulnerable to catfish scammers

Likely, the main factor is innocence, although this may lead to ignorance:

When a person is innocent, they tend to have their defences low, barely built at all, and they tend to ask around and therefore show in broad day light their lack of knowledge. On the other hand, the ignorance factor can also beseen as a haughty high horse stand, where the ignorant believes he has knowledge on a matter, and may even argue ferociously with you because of this believe.
Of course, both terms can be either related in a linear manner (one is innocent, and therefore may be ignorant on a matter in a humble way) or antagonize each other (one is an ignorant pompous prick, in no way innocent, and therefore ignorance is a personal quality and to a temporary status).

Really, it’s just semantics, but I do favour the innocence factor over the ignorant factor.

I think scammers prey more on greed than ignorance, most times members on this network try to earn more than they actually can, from links or projects that are not really feasible, thus they end up losing much..
One could be less greedy without much knowledge(ignorant)and end up not getting scammed

Ignorance and greed, are the common pratfalls that makes one to fall for basic scams.
Adopt the idea, that, if it's to good to be true, it most likely is not.

But scams are sometimes more advanced and harder to spot. And you'd need to have advanced knowledge or seek expert advise before investing.
And if you are unsure, or have reservation always act on it.

The dictionary can explain Ignorance as the lack or poor knowledge, understanding and information about something.

There has been various precautionary measures against scam that has been put forth both here on the forum and outside the forum. Articles, posts, thread and even applications has been recommended to secure oneself against the menace but still the main vital feature scammers prey on is ignorance.

Individuals are sometimes fond of engaging into something(business, investment, trade e.t.c) with only basic knowledge most especially how to make profit with out first also understand the importance and ways of protecting themselves from invaders.

Almost every sites, social media platforms, blogs, exchanges, wallet, even your devices  or anything on the internet try as much as possible to protect it users. Social media platforms has setting that protects you from receiving messages from a suspious individual some even have an option to report spam and block but some users are not aware or ignorant about the use.

Also groups have an orientation message stating some type of safety rule(no member of the admin would privately want to do business, every link must be from an admin) and so many other rules but individuals ignorantly still evade and most time fall prey.

First thing to do when you engage in anything Always reading and understand rules and precautions frist to ensure your safety this should be your primary form of safety even before any other advance way of protecting yourself.
