Probably this is the power o scammers. Scamming people becomes their work, their efforts, and their income.
Actually, through IEO, it can really decrease the chance of scammers to deceive the investors because they should use the third party to work, that is an exchange. However, there is also still a small hole that they can take apart, that is by choosing the small exchange or not trusted one. That is why t is very important for us to be smarter when going to invest in the new project, analyze whether the exchange is trusted enough, analyze their team members, and other transactions.

The SCAMMERS in the cryptocurrency world are not giving up on defrauding the unsuspecting investors of their hard earned money.

Since the introduction of IEO, SCAMMERS have diverted their efforts towards stealing the investors exchanges passwords.

They Create a cloned website of the exchanges, Contact you through a mail and attach the cloned website's shortened url for you not to suspect that you are entering a different websites to your real exchange.

The investors should be checking the website address of their exchange before they input their passwords into any exchange.

I actually think they are running out of ideas from the usual pms they send on Telegram asking one to help them withdraw some amount of bitcoin from a scam exchange. Now they register your email on a scam site and ask you to confirm registrations. The best and easiest remedy is to ignore any pm or mail from a strange party

Projects including individuals should desist from clicking on shortened Url links most times it's virus. I don't see the reason why an IEO exchange should contact a project with shortened Url link. Thank you for pointing this out everyone should be on alarm.

The crypto saviors fight against these scammers with informing and education the crypto investors with all possible ways. The phishing sites are commonly known tactics for stealing the exchange passwords from traders with cloning the same user interface of the specialized exchange. Bookmarking the exchange site will save investors from the pitfall sites.

This is the biggest challenge for cryptocurrency. They are just killing the nice opportunities for their short term gain. Even regulatory board will have challenges to overcome this.

That's phishing if am not mistaken. In order to be safe,  I always login to exchanges via Coinmarketcap because that's where the correct website address is. Also, another way is checking the group or channel, take note of the admins and then check for the website which is mostly in the pinned message. But in all, going through Coinmarketcap is the best..

You are right, this is why its always necessary to check the https// sign to confirm if the link is secured or not and secondly you have to check the website alphabetically e.g https://www.coinbase.com can be changed to http://www.coInbase.com,if you dont check it properly you will fall victim.

Unfortunately, no one is safe from scammers, but you can take some measures:

1. Add the exchange to your favorites and access only this link
2. If you trade in ethereum then you can use the metamask, it will warn about a phishing site.
3. Try to use decentralized exchanges such as bitshares
4. Use 2 factor authentication + confirmation by mail
5. And of course, the most important thing is to pay attention to the official pages of exchanges in social networks, they write about dos attacks and changed ip

Always be careful, especially by reading strange emails or dms on telegram. Scams are everywhere and before sending your funds, please assure that the project is legit to protect your money. Otherwise you will regret not spending some time for research before investing.

I’ll add from myself that in addition to checking the website address, be sure to activate two-factor authentication. For all the actions that are possible: access to the site, withdrawal of funds, changing settings, and so on.

It is easy to fall for such phising sites if you do not take time to check the url properly. I bookmark pages i use often to avoid confusion. Some exchanges are aware of this scam and make a security provision for that- all genuine message from them must always carry your UNIQUE ID chosen and only known by you. I think Kucoin does that.

I don't know why those scammers won't rest till they defraud crypto enthusiasts.  Before signing into your exchange accounts in particular, cross check thoroughly to be sure you are not about to access a phishing site. The best is to bookmark all URL of your exchanges or use tools which detect phishing sites on your browser.
They won't, because they are criminals. That's why we really need to be careful out there. Make sure that we are in the right website before we enter our data otherwise your account is compromise. Sometimes common sense is the best weapons + educating ourselves to the dangers of phishing.
