Another difficult reasoning here's "does everyone who holds bitcoin knows the right bitcoin crypto exchange email address they're trading with"? This is just one crucial something we also have to take note about because failure to identify the right mail address would be assumed that similar addresses as the original address would feel the same by your inability to sense the difference which was supposed to let you know when you're being on track by scammers by mails.

Some of us too are fond of only caring about protecting our wallet seed phrases with all technical dimensions but less does some of us knows that our wallets can also be cracked and invaded through anti links such as one of the malicious email links the Op has just elaborated and brought to our attention.
It's actually trending that scammers are also operating by mails by so doing, let's be careful, stay tuned and alert Incase they may also come with different ideologies to ruin us with our assets.

If only scammers knew mercy, then there would have been no scam at all. Expect it, be aware of it, and prepare against it. You are totally correct on this. Scammers these days don't have human perception anymore. I believe that many scammers have hardened their minds so that they can't feel for people anymore, whether you are poor or rich, they won't care. I watched a video some days ago when a woman was crying and begging a scammer to return her money that she borrowed from the bank. Now just imagine what that woman will be passing through this period, mostly now that the economy is hard.
Any scammer that will tell someone to get a loan from somewhere and do anything doesn't have human feelings anymore. The scammer will be happy and the defrauder will be crying (very bad).
If someone doesn't have money, the scammer will still tell the person to get a loan.
It has happened to me, but now I have learnt my lessons and I don't believe that it's gonna happen again because I already know their tricks.

Scammers never consider who you are - in fact they are more likely to attack hogs than regular users. I mean - scammers can attack anyone for the same reason, so it is our responsibility to equip ourselves with a strong fortress where the knowledge and bad experiences of other users should be a valuable lesson to consider.

There is no way to eradicate scammers in this world - they will always be there and come in different ways. Just avoid suspicious things, ignore them and don't be greedy and be careful.

Really, scammers use any small opportunity to over do and scam people. They always have a new way to scam people. I also received a message in my mobile phone today that I have been given a job in a company so I should go to the place take the appointment letter, as op said the worse part was I didn't apply for the company job. So in this new technological revelation, we should be careful because they are out there to make you cry and not to make laugh.

And really if this message was received by the former victim email address, he or she would have fall for it because all his or her mind is now to get out funds back and unknown to them that they want to enter another scam again. We should not rush things and calm down to know the real source of the information.

 Scammers have no mercy when it comes to making money, they don't care if they take your money and you die. What matters to them is to scam you and take your money to live a luxurious lifestyle.

Yes, if this email landed on the old victim of the FTX exchange users, most of them would open it and follow the instructions written in the email without taking proper measures to know if the email was legit because they were already at a loss and needed a way to recover their money. This is why the scammers initiated the move of sending this message to random emails because they knew they we fall for it.

Who I pity is those who don’t know how this scammers operates and the kind of things that they are made up off, just imagine some one who is financially depressed you are still going to them with some form of investment recovery option which you don’t mean rather you want to take away which ever money that is left with them and run away again, this set of scammers really don’t have conscience and they don’t care what the next person is passion through.

Let everyone just be vigilant and prepare their mind on things like this as scammers will never be able to recover lost funds for someone if they have their ways they will also take more from you and add to the figure the person has already recorded as lost funds.. The fraudsters always seem to develop themselves to create methods that support their success. They have many ways to do it, and what the scammers think about is the opportunity to get victims regardless of the condition of the potential victims.
we can only better prepare ourselves for this. because of course, it can increase our awareness of fraudulent plans against anyone. even when we don't have an account on a certain platform, we can also be targeted as happened to the OP.
not only in crypto, I also received scam messages from banks,  and I don't have an account there. fraud mode is always around us, we must always be more vigilant.

This is very common, unfortunately not all new beginners will know about the cruel ways scammers use to hunt their victims, this is why we need warnings like this on Bitcointalk forum here and there, every time bad things happened, like attacks or hacks, scammers will pretend to care and use that against people.

For example Stake online casino was hacked and immediately on Twitter some scammers are pretending to be from Stake, promising to pay all those who are affected back, they drop links to click and follow some procedure, thing is that procedure is a way to make people lose more money.

The quicker people realize this the better, it's something that every crypto investors should be expecting, be careful on social media, and before you do anything always be curious if you are doing the right thing.

This a just a matter of common sense. We all know that when someone has been scammed,he would loom for every means to catch the scammer or look for a way how he can get back his funds. This new scammers will take advantage of the scammed victim weakness of getting back what was scammed from him,to claim that he can help the scammed victim recover all that he lost. If you are not smart enough to sense that it is another scam,unknowingly to you,you will fall for them again. It's not a bad idea to change your e-mail, but I can personally say that at least 99% of such e-mails go to junk mail, which is automatically deleted after 30 days with most providers anyway. Of course, everything depends on what kind of spam filters someone's e-mail has, but also on how those who are among the first to receive an e-mail with such content react, because I always report such e-mails as spam and in this way help others recipients to not receive it in their inbox.

Well, scammers in general try to target the most vulnerable people who can't think clearly and recognize a scam. Elderly people, people in dire financial situation, victims of some disaster and so on. Shouldn't really be that surprising that they target the FTX victims.

Well this kind of email now are never a new thing for me again as I have seen so many times users have complained and maybe naive ones fell for this scam and that's why I won't ever fall and moreover why would you even show interest if you know fully you haven't got any account with the acclaimed site?. I saw something similar like this in the altcoin board where a used was claimed to be gifted 480$ in an air drop he didn't even participated and now was asked to pay some fee inorder to withdraw the funds.

There was a pathetic story of a boy who was scammed in the US. These scammers collected all he had and they were still asking him to send more money or they would expose his nude pictures and post them on different social media. This young boy pleaded with these criminals and told them that he had spent all he had and that he was becoming depressed and contemplating suicide. One of the scammers told the teenager to "Do that fast, or I’ll make you do it," and this young boy committed suicide. I was happy when they were arrested and extradited to the US.

All these criminals need is the money. They don't care if it was your last saving or borrowed money. If you are going through emotional trauma, health problems, or even death, they don't care. This is why it is very important to give proper attention to our security because these criminals won't have feelings. It is cheaper and easier to apply security measures than to trace scammers.

This scam is quite clever for taking advantage over someone else lost and this will make them feel there's a hope to get back all of their coins. I quite remember with scam Queen Elizabeth coin that's was written it's used for donation for Queen Elizabeth's families, now the coin is disappeared.

I believe there are some greedy people that think this is real and they will try to contact them.

It won't matter even if people would be educated on how to deal with suspicious emails. Especially elder people, they're really vulnerable to these kinds of stuff. It's not just the scammers attempting to phish these people from doing stuffs like this.

Some are even outgoing that would attempt to call you like "cold calling" even though they would claim that you're in their records making purchases. Refund scams does these kinds of method.

Yes, that's how it goes with these scammers. Every trend that comes and every market that changes the setting, there will be victims that will complain about how they've been scammed but before reporting that, they have never questioned the emails or messages that came from these scammers.

This must be a phishing mail sent to thousands of persons, they must have harvested your email address from a website you once registered that is now in control of the scammer. Aside exploiting the fact that FTX is moving some of its assets to launch this attack, the scam is weak. I believe it's just few persons that will fall for the click bait, especially persons that are new to the space. The sender email is really weird as you said and it's not really convincing, that alone is a good reason to draw suspicion. The scammer again messed up with the token ticker "USD-C", I think he wanted to write "USDC".

Each bull run of Bitcoin, cryptocurrency market is heated up and attract new investors who bring new cash flow. They are new victims of many new trending scam altcoins.

They are new and unexperienced to understand altcoins can be creates easily and they mostly die after each big bull run. After one or two bearish year, their developers abandon those projects, and wait for a new trend with a new bull run to launch new projects.

Then the cycle repeats, new bull run, new trends, new cash flows, new victims. The market will never be lack of victims.

There is this system where one get scammed by scammers and while the person that was scammed is grieving he gets a write up about how to recover his scammed fund, if he/she is unsuspecting he/she can fall victim to this,  further scams and still the scammers can come back again to attempt scamming the victim.

These days scammers are finding it hard to find victim thanks to the spread of the awareness of scam activities so they really aim to hold on tight to any victim they find.

One funny thing about scammers is that they don't get tired of reaping people off even though they understand what people have gone through with what has happened to them already and to be honest this trick of paying back the lost money to customers is the easiest way to scam most people who lost their money because most people will be excited to hear that there is a way of getting their lost money back not minding if the emails they received came from FTX. Their mind is not always at rest to create means to scam individuals who are less ignorant to stay updated on the latest happening in the crypto space. The scammers keep developing strategies of any sort to make sure people fall for them.

To scammers, every little announcement or latest happening in the crypto space serves as an opportunity given to them to dope people of their funds. They created their own type of scammer email because of the announcement the FXT exchange made concerning returning people's funds. You are absolutely right, these are not compassionate people who choose their targets and they don't care if their victim is someone who has only $100 or someone who has $1 million. However, those who send such e-mails are nothing more than ordinary vultures who hope to pick up the remains of what is left behind by the Kwon-Bankman scam pandemic, and you should not be surprised at all that you receive such e-mails, because I also often receive e-mails from various CEXs, although I only registered on one once upon a time.

The best advice that everyone should apply is to never click on links in e-mails until they are sure that they come from a legitimate source - and we can easily find this out by checking the sender's address and comparing it with the e-mail address that is always on to a legitimate website.

Scammers taking advantage of other scammers debacle. This is not new on this space as anything that they can take advantage of, they will.

It's always best to be curious with the emails that you receive and if you can't remember if you signed up for it and then receiving is suspicious, much better not to attend to that email and put it in the trash can.

While, these attempts can get some newbies thinking that they are for real because when I was still new, I've got this type of attempt and almost fell for it.

I always feel bad when I see these scammers taking people's hard earned money from them without any mercy and from my observations, these scammers aren't bothered about what happens next to their victims as long as they achieve  their  goal and mission which is to steal and take away money from  their victims.

This is why I always remind other people about email headers, some people get scam just by simply reading the emails saw it like [email protected] and they will click  the email, then from there everything starts to get weird asking to change the password, since its been compromised without knowing that its a fake email, I have work in a company where an email received a fake Sales invoice asking for payment, they will actually going to fall from that tricked but when i have check the email header, its a different email address pretending to be a real one, although there are lots of tricks, being use by this hacker being curious and checking it to make sure will save the day from a person or company, in a big way.

The fear should be that these people have OP's mail on their database. We must consider how we accept cookies or submit our personal mails on any website. There are many risk factors attached to the way random people's mails fly around the web. It gets leaked or sold most often. Thereby, increasing scam rate, just like the example OP shared.

This is not new at all, as this has been one of the scammers most recently used strategies, and victims who have lost enough easily fall victim to this kind of scam because they are always looking to grab whatever is necessary to regain their already supposed lost funds.
 
Do these scammers have a conscience? No they don't, they don't care about how much you have lost, if you are in a sick bed because of the one that has recently happened, if you are to borrow to survive, or whatever bad situation you are in, they don't care. What they care about is how to convince you to invest and give out any fund that you can get your hands on and offer you a recovering proposer, which won't even happen. They try every possible way that they can, come up with ideas that the real companies have never even had in mind just to convince their victims and take their hard earned money from them.
 
If everyone can be guided and disregard every email that comes from an unknown sender, then we can all be safe, and secondly, any company that has just recently mismanaged customers funds and is still requesting any form of payment in order for the customer to get back their funds is not real and has never had the intention of paying back.

No, they don't care at all, and what is even worse, on the contrary, they exploit to their advantage the fact that the victim has been defrauded and that has the hope of being able to recover their money and for this reason they are more inclined to cling to any opportunity that, in their eyes, can make them recover falling for another scam.

You can compare those scammers to criminals. Well, scammers are criminals as well, but the point is that, they don't care about yourself, your feelings whatsoever. As long as you're their target, they will do what they can just to get money from you.

That's why we as investors need to remain vigilant at all times. Don't fall out with these shitty emails. Always be observant, always look at the website that you're visiting. When I was starting to know which are scams, and which are not, I often watch some Youtube videos, and that helped me a lot. Not only 1 video , but many videos. As for this FTX comeback, maybe those who lost their money in that FTX drama a few months ago are the ones who might fall to this trap. I just hope that they will not fall into this one again, or it will just add to their burden.

The best way to go when sensitive mails like this is received is to look at the sender address and then go back to the exchange and check their support for there official email address and once even a letter differs, one should avoid the link. Also check their social media handle to actually check if there is an announcement of such instructions. Check the link of that comes with the mail and see if it is to their official page

I am pretty sure that almost everyone in the crypto space knows that FTX and the CEO shit over their customers, there is no coming back from this hurtful experience but days back I read somewhere online that FTX has started moving their assets on the blockchain, maybe that's what prompts this attack.

The reason for this move could be

1. They want to start paying back their customers.

2. To start running their shitty FTX 2.0 comeback.

Scammers are now sending out new scam emails to all available email accounts, I got this a few days ago and the funny thing is I never used FTX exchange once, I don't have an account with the exchange, and this is where they messed up, but let's pretend I was also FTX customer?



I know this is not from FTX because...

1. I don't have an account with FTX exchange.

2. The sender's email is weird ( something spcuid@ opulet.com)
