I thought seed phrase is for you and the wallet. Seed phrase is just like a house key that is with you for 24 hours. Seed phrase is the digital security key to your wallet. How can you give your house key to a visitor to hold? That is equivalent to your seed phrase. How can you give your seed phrase to someone you met online? It does not make sense. That is suicide mission.
A genuine Bitcoin Trading site will not and never ask you for the seed phrase. What do they have to do your wallet if not to steal. If they want to deposit money, they only have to ask the wallet deposit link.

And any site form that are filling and they asked you to fill your seed phrase, that means, the site is fake and to Scam people. So be warned, don't feel that form. Even legit websites, it is not save. The URL also speaks a lot about the genuineness of a website.

Besides checking the url make sure you bookmark the right site, so the bookmarked star will always show up whenever you are landing on the right site, whenever a site asks you to enter your seed phrase doubt first and check if you are landing on the right site or check with the support if they have this kind of giveaway, they always announce it in their social media account.
No legitimate site would ask you for your seed phrase, they have no business with your wallet access. Do not disclose your seed phrase beyond your eyes

Entering your seed phrase to any website included real websites not safe at all. It's pretty easy for hackers to hack a website and steal seed phrases. When it comes to the wallet, then I prefer to use a Hardware wallet. If you can't afford a Hardware wallet then use at least an open-source non-custodial wallet to store your assets. So you are almost out of danger if your device does not become compromised. So be careful before using any seed phrase on the website. At least try apps so that you don't need to type a website every time. Thanks, OP for sharing with us, hope newbies would take a lesson from here.

What happened::
This is a clone Trust wallet sites running a 500BTC giveaway scam, there are so many of you out there still looking for a quick way to grab every chance of getting a token in your wallets without knowing the risk, and sometimes you may be smart enough to give them seed phrase of an empty wallet. One thing you need to know is that these scammers will keep the seed phrase and keep monitoring your wallet, and there is this popular phrase "no wallet is useless." You may find the same wallet handy one day, forgetting that the seed is already out there with someone; this is where we keep getting complaints about how their wallet was wiped out; your wallet is your responsibility, and you are the only one who can get it wiped.

Always verify your URL before accessing any crypto sites; it's critical to ensure you're on a legitimate site because our own security begins with ourselves.
