"Funny fact: I was not at this meeting, it was organized without my permission or even participation, and I honestly have no idea what happened there," Buterin wrote on Twitter.

They key aspect of blockchain technology is permission-less, you don't need anyone permission to make decisions, this will reduce centralized form of governance in the blockchain space. To me this is not a scandal but how cryptospace works.
