It will be the other way around. If Scotland becomes independent, then the North Sea petroleum and gas deposits will fall within the Scottish Maritime border. It will ruin (what is left of the) UK financially.

I don't understand this. The Labour party is on a constant decline in Scotland. And SNP got around 45% of the votes during the last elections.

I'm not fully informed on this, but it seems like it would be better for both countries if they split. England might be able to finally shed the Labour party and Scotland might stop rallying around it. The only downside that I see would be Scotland succumbing to the Euro. Smaller, more homogeneous countries are better able to resist corruption of all sorts.

Anyway... White British came down from 87.0% in 2001 to 79.8% in 2011.

They may be left wing. Bit the last time I checked, 98% of the Scottish population was European, and only 79% of England's population was so. Also, I have chatted with a few Scots on a political forum. Those who were opposed to immigration were voting YES, while the others were voting NO.

Thats right - the "English" (whoever they are, by the way) it will be still.
