https://x.com/sandyzkp/status/1861987868920676594"Some founders are pre-launch engagement farming so hard and throwing shades so wild that I felt the need to address a few things: 🧵
1/ We’ve been quiet, but for good reason. We’ve been reflecting on community feedback. Acknowledging where we’ve fallen short, like communicating our airdrop design principles better. Some in the community feel hurt, and we’re working on addressing this with Session 2, aiming to make things right. 🙏
2/ Our community means everything to us. There’s no denying we could’ve done a better job in certain areas. We’re learning and improving. ❤️
3/ Scroll has been at the forefront of research and technology for years. Some teams might do well to spend less time gaslighting the community and more time creating meaningful value. Protocols can (and should) entertain and deliver real utility. We’re here to do both. 🚀
4/ On team wallets: We’ve addressed this before, but here’s the summary:
• Treasury was used to seed core DeFi liquidity on Scroll.
• Marks in these wallets weren’t claimed and are negligible (~0.00001% impact on incentives).
• In hindsight, removing Marks for clarity would’ve been better. Lesson learned. ✅
5/ On OTC: We’ve taken a relaxed approach to pre-TGE OTC for early investors. This promotes organic price discovery and reduces selling pressure later. You may have a different opinion, but this was our rationale. 🌱
6/ On making team members buy tokens at the last round valuation:
• Anyone who’s operated a protocol knows this is impossible.
• More broadly, if you know how to make others buy things against their will, why build a protocol at all? 🤷♀️
7/ On Tog: He’ll always be part of the Scroll family. Tog’s clarity and dedication to education have taught me so much. As he moves on to his next adventure, I wish him nothing but success. 💛
8/ We’re restructuring to align with our next phase of development. Some team members are moving on. We’re deeply grateful for their contributions and know they’ll thrive in new roles. If you’re hiring, reach out to me—most have already landed exciting projects. 💼
9/ To the 3-5 subtweets saying: “Scroll is great at tech, X is great at marketing, they should merge”—I get it. I used to take this as criticism, but I’ve realized Scroll is always part of the equation. That says a lot. 🧠
10/ Our core team is aligned and stronger than ever. We’re taking ownership of what happened, improving communication (hold me accountable), and moving forward with resilience. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. 💪
11/ Finally, I’m incredibly touched by the builders and community members standing by Scroll amidst the noise. Your support reminds us that we’re doing some things right. Thank you. 🌟
Let’s keep building. Onwards. 🙌"
