The dangers are, can you hold it? Pirates and governments don't want it for itself. They want it for the valuables you just brought to it. If you form a nation (or take over the old one), can you hold it?

Your better bet is getting to the USA, and forming a PMA (Private Membership Association) for starting your own nation right on your own land. DONE PROPERLY (using the 70+ SCOTUS decisions, plus the 1st and 4th Amendments) this can be done legally.

Once you have strength with the USA, then move on to greater things.

Cool

Yes, trying to hold a small platform might be difficult, not impossible but tough.Where in the US, show we set up (i'll get some land)

Years ago, I remember Sealand (a micronation that claims HM Fort Roughs, an offshore platform in the North Sea approximately 12 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk, (thanks wikipedia)) went up for sale for £27 million.

Whilst bitcoin is borderless, wouldn't it be great if we could own and share a nation that safely stores bitcoin forevermore.

Therefore, we could band together and try and buy Sealand - add a generator, some solar panels, a tent, a server and a satellite connection to download the chain. Might need a coffee machine too.

Who's willing to chip in?
