seems i get better google results than you..
.. might explain many things about your research compared to mine

Your point is?

My point was do the search, take a screenshot of what appears on the top screen, share it, and laugh.

On the serious side, it might be a cause for concern because that is what newbies see when they search for "Bitcoin Core developers" in Google. It also says "according to Wikipedia". Haha.

seems wind fury is now ignoring googles search results of bitcoin core devs, and now only wants to discuss WIKI

Do I? I said do, "Bitcoin Core developers" search, and look at the images at the top. I posted a screenshot of where to look.

probably we will never know who the developers really are because it is all encrypted in detail

its actually very transparent who the developers are. if you know how to research properly.
P..S
satoshi was NEVER a "bitcoin core developer" so his identity is not a question for this topic. and his involvement is not a current even. he has not done anything since late 2010 so not important or relevant to todays code concerns

Yes, "if". But newbies search Google and accept what they see in the first line, in the first page as fact.

maybe what windfury needs to do is check wiki and realise people edited wiki to include those names. and should maybe get a wiki mod to edit the wiki.
(usually anyone can edit wiki, but as with everything.. even core. you find getting an edit actually published is easier if you kiss  a moderators ass) im sure he knows how to proceed with this

The name was correct but the photo is not Cheesy someone needs to create a wiki photo with an anonymous profile pic and label it Satoshi. And make a not that he is no longer developing the code

Those guys don't appear in my searh results, when a search for "Bitcoin Core Developers".
When is search in google images for that keyword, people like Greg Maxwell and Corey Fields appear on the top of the list.Nothing about Satoshi(with a picture of some random japanese old man),Nick Tsabo or Rojer Ver.

Not in "Google Images". Try doing the regular web search, and look at the images on the top. Sometimes I also get Mark Karpeles, and Gavin Andresen. Hahaha.

i done the same search and i got names like greg maxwell luke dashir chrisdecker

Can you show us a screenshot?

funny part is
google takes a search key word and searches for results based on user preferences.

EG as a true bitcoiner if i search for "miners" my results come up with ASICS
a gold merchant or a coal worker would result in things related to excavators, sluice machines and quarries

we all know windfury loves his roger ver drama. so ofcourse FOR WINDFURY thats the results windfury would get

Then does that mean you love your Bitcoin Core developers drama? Cool

Quote

so it seems that windfury has the wrong results because windfury has in the past been told stories to only look at and discuss social drama of non-important people, and built up HIS OWN search preference thats not the truth.

I have done the search in different browsers, different OS, deleted cookies, deleted internet data history, and did the search on TOR. I have almost the same results with small changes, and those changes were not Core developers.

windfury basically has been led down the wrong path.

Have I?

I did the search again. It includes Charlie Shrem! Hahahahaha.

I think its returning results on a popularity basis - not certain results.

But google uses Dorian Nakamoto image and Satoshi left before when Bitcoin Core was named bitcoin-qt, so it's inaccurate.

It looks like poor Dorian will forever remain "satoshi nakamoto" in the eyes of newbies. And the cringe of seeing Roger Rer as the face of Bitcoin is real. He was working so hard to make people confuse bcash with Bitcoin it had to work. There was no other way.

Bitcoin development is so decentralized that Google's algorithms can't figure out who they are. Wink

Google does not figure out, it rather adds up popular searches by people and use it to provide suggestions when that particular search word is used by someone.

I am relatively new so I do not see the irony in most of the names, Satoshi of course is an example everyone can relate with.

This is a lack of Google search engine.

I think they are always obliged to produce results for the given parameters, but they do not always show the correct results.

also satoshi's actual client was on sourceforge.. it was gavin that used github and everything continued from that.
the version gavin had on github in 2010 was different than satoshi's

but hey, if you ask trump  he will say russia and china had something to do with it because google told him

Same here. It's funny to even think about a random crypto get rich quick noob to seriously search for who the developers are of a certain coin. They don't care, neither do the people who are above the get rich quick category. Most noobs stick to youtubers feeding them rehashed content, and based on the content they either get bullish or bearish.

I didn't expect that just reading articles on youtube would be something allowing you as "content creator" to reach 50-100,000 subscribers.

In the end, I think it's better for people to not fully know who develops what, because the more of a public figure they become, the more of a target they become. The only thing I care about is that the software they work on is working as I expect it to work, and in case of Bitcoin Core, it does. It's by far the best in every way, which clearly shows if we look at the adoption numbers.

In fact Google just cited the names (+photos) according to Wikipedia...it took too much effort hehe Wink
Don't want to mix this topic with politics but Trump once accused Google for showing bad articles on top, well, it appears that the white house search preferences are broke  Tongue

they are
if trump is obsessed with mentioning russia and china. then search results will point to what russia and china re doing.
there are hundreds of countries.
i search for things like hawaii.
so when i search "national emergency". i DONT get results about russia / china. my top result was the text alert thing that happened in hawaii awhile ago that was alerting people to a missile alert.

but i can guarantee trump gets stuff about mexico russia and china. and probably never gets anything about germany, italy or other countries he doesnt think about

Well I have seen that and also the image of satoshi nakamoto but I am in the opinion that it's not original picture of the bitcoin creator. Google always has an answer to any questions regardless of if it's correct it not

The wikipedia article on Bitcoin Core has a Bitcoin footer, inside which there's a people section which has all the mentioned people as well as others, like Mark Karpeles or Andreas Antonopoulos. So, google just pulled this list from that article, trying to be smart. It's a very well known problem with google when it shows wrong photos and unrelated people, thinking that they are relevant to the search.
Just recently I've been reading an article about woman who shares a name with a dead woman, and Google mixed up their photos in the search results, so now people think that she is dead.

but i do laugh whenever i mention a real bitcoin dev.. him and his buddies come running into a topic to meander the topic to attempt get me not to talk about the real devs and real issues. and instead to meander it into social drama about non dev stuff

so in short. google is proving to windfury that he is in an echo chamber of dont mention real devs and try to make people think about non-dev social drama.
windfury google is showing you your falling for your own buddies trick by leading YOU down the wrong path based on your own wrong path search history/preferences

How do we know these guys don't have secret Batman-esque lives as the hottest developers on the planet?

It's possible they all run an as yet undeclared DeepStateCoin that's been underpinning the world for decades. That's why the CIA had to replace Gavin Andresen's mind with a Nokia 6110 when he refused to contribute.
