Is there an option to search within a particular thread?

Sometimes I need to go to a thread and if it has a number of pages, I am lost in which page I posted  Roll Eyes

How do I search for my post(s) within a thread?
you can check your post history  and  see the last post you want to go back. just go to profile show the last post of this person then check the post you mkde and cllick the last topic you want to return.

It doesn't work even though there is a search option. I guess there have been changes made to the search feature as earlier when I used to try finding my posts in a particular thread, I used to get all the results unlike now. The advanced search option too doesn't work. Google works better.

Searching your own posts under your Profile page is very helpful I find for keeping an eye on a few threads, but once you've posted a bit and you then have pages of last posts to trawl through it becomes tricky. Thing I would do if you're looking at a thread many pages long and know you're in there somewhere but not sure where, is set the thread to show ALL pages and then use CTL + F to bring up the search page box and enter your username (or whatever it is you're looking for on the thread) - if you're listed on the page it'll show up. Hope this has been of some help!

I often do that by checking the history of my own posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=showPosts
As long as there are not too many posts in short time, it does the job.

This is also what I do. You should do this instead because it is much better and faster rather than using the search box and searching within a whole forum section. By checking your post history you can easily see the post that you want to find, and by clicking the topic in which you've posted that reply, it will automatically redirect to that thread showing the post that you have made. But yes, this is not much applicable for those members who post a lot, particularly to those that are a member of a campaign.

My bad I haven't tried searching when I am in a thread, I was looking for a "search within thread" box.

That works, the search displays the last post which I made in a thread.

True, but for users who post a lot and want to look for his older post google is the solution.

The search bar helps too when you search for your name in the thread the results will show once a user quotes your post.

Just go into the thread and use the search bar. Or you can use google to do it which is often more accurate.
