Well, since June a lot has happened to explain why the government blocked "searches" to popular Crypto exchanges... right. They already knew back then, that they will be banning Crypto currency mining and that they will be clamping down on Crypto currency activities.

People will ask why they banned Crypto mining and after a few months.. they will see the answer. (Hint : They are working on a GovCoin that are under full control of the Chinese government)

They know what they are doing, even though some people might not understand it at the time. The Chinese government wants 100% control over their economy and the flow of money and wealth... and Crypto currencies does not enable them to do that. Roll Eyes

This is not the first time China has had a currency-related ban. In 2017, Beijing banned domestic cryptocurrency exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs). At the time, China accounted for 90% of all global Bitcoin transactions. However, this ban does not prevent individual investors from buying currencies through foreign exchanges. On the other hand, they ban bitcoin but try to create a digital yuan for central bank issuance. They are simply unique and they want to control everything.

There's no new here everyone! China blocked crypto mining and also other stuff and eventually, they will give permits again and allow it. China was really a devastating country for us crypto followers and because of that, it is affecting the flow of the market, they actually thought that they can control the people who are really interested in the crypto and another thing is that they thought that they can control cryptocurrency that's why they are doing this.

Well, when you control the people... you control their wealth and you can misuse your power. This is exactly why Bitcoin was invented.. because Satoshi saw how Banks and Governments colluded during the previous financial crisis and how governments misused taxpayers money to bail out Banks.

China do not want their citizens to have any control, so they will censor their access to people that has freedom. The firewalls that are in place, can easily be circumvented... so it is not a big issue. Grin

China is just China. It has been totally against cryptocurrencies for a long time. It still hasn't realized that letting its people trade would help its economy a lot. It is missing a huge opportunity and this could cause China to be 1-0 behind other big countries that don't ban Bitcoin.

When it comes to China, it's always about them ^[government] having more benefits than their users. AFAICR, a couple of months back they were looking into launching their own digital currency ^{[centralized]}, so they could easily track everything and there were even talks of them limiting how much each individual could have in such form ^[ridiculous].
^{- Judging by recent events, at first it looks like they're just redirecting Chinese nationals so they could control everything and also gain a large extent of the market, but I have a feeling that their main objective extends beyond their borders.}

This censorship is for security, as they started blocking reported social media account related to crypto scams.

china is getting tougher to ban the use of crypto, now china wants to block the search for bitcoin exchanges, will their efforts be successful, because in 2017 china also did the same, it can be said that the chinese government will strictly prohibit all forms of trading which they cannot control, they had to find a way to bring him down.

Wow, that sounds pretty tough. I've heard of the mining restrictions in Inner Mongolia, but I thought that it was a local policy, and that it only had to do with mining. Is trading cryptos currently illegal in China, or are these just some blocking activities that don't actually have laws behind them? But then again, it's true that tons of things from the Internet are blocked in China, so perhaps it shouldn't be that surprising. What IS surprising is that crypto businesses continue to operate in such a hostile environment.

They don't want poor stupid people to lose all their money. Its one thing to gamble 10% of your life savings on bitcoin gamble, but its another to borrow and make debt, and spend 100% of your familys wealth on crypto habit disease gambling.

Almost all crypto traders lose 100% in the first 90 days of trading, the GOV is just trying to minimize the human misery that comes from bitcoin insanity.

The system is designed for house-win, 'coinbase', or 'binance' all require that you make 10% profit on all trades just to break even, since the house charge 5% in&out of every trade. In the real world a trader would be happy with 3% to keep on a trade, but in the crypto world, most people just churn their accounts to zero in a short time and walk away broke.

Now in the West this is seen as an opportunity for scammers to get rich quick, but in ASIA this is seen as a criminal endeavor.

Let's see India & China have a billion people, and USA has 300M, but most live in the urban gutters

There are 1,000's of sites in China, most chinese do online shopping ,ppl in China don't even use paper money anymore, its all done with mobile phones.

In the other direction, the Chinese with a market of one billion people don't even bother with ENGLISH, so there are no sites, used in say USA, that are chinese, well of course everybody in USA shops on alibaba.com for electronics & stuff. But the JackMa had originally lived in Calif, so he knew english.

Trump tried to 'ban' tik-tok the most popular photo-site in china, so it does happen in the other direction,

But like i said earlier, google has been banned in China since the 1990's, and yahoo; Gmail is banned, its all because the CCP doesn't want the NSA-CIA spying on its people.

Of course USA people don't use chinese software, because its not in english, but GOOGLE has spent billions of dollars supporting all languages on earth, because google is NSA, and they want to spy on everybody on the earth.

When users enter those words in your list on chinese serching engines, there are still results. China gov block the access when clicking the result.

But this time, no result about those exchanges would show up.

BTW: Funny thing is, when entering coinbase on baidu, there are still results and valid address returned.

This is not about whether the government is of the east or the west. Partly, this is about governments in general. Governments want control. However, there are countries which are more tolerant than others, more open-minded than others, more receptive to rising technologies, and so forth.

And it is not whether it is from the east or the west. There are many countries in the east which are not as inimical to Bitcoin as China, in the same manner that there are also countries in the west which tend to be very tight in terms of crypto regulations.

But China is more or less the extreme case. They want absolute control. They'll probably regulate farting in the coming days.

Don't over amplify any action from China. They are dictator regime so they do any full censorship they can. It is bad to recall a sad story for all of us but there are people can leak the videos of deadly situation in incinerators in China in the first few months of pandemic.

That means if people want, they can access available Internet resources with other tools. If they want, they can learn and do it successfully.

China is similar to Russia. Do you notice Putin signed a new law to keep up his power. Putin signs law banning 'extremists' from running in elections, on Navalny's birthday. China and Russia break basics of human rights.

This is very normal for China, non-bitcoin or bitcoin-related.
Most of the platforms that they are blocked are really good or helpful for other countries, their government is extremely strict.

Additionally, the more they censor, the people become more curious, it's like Bitcoin. People always making their ways.

There are a lot of websites that is blocked or censored in China, so I'm not surprised that they are going to censor crypto exchanges as well. They have been curtailing their people's freedom, as we all know that Internet = freedom of speech.

And since we have heard that China has started it's war on bitcoin, specifically mining, they definitely have to start somewhere else, so the country first target is censorship.
