The spending of second stimulus coming from the government would depend on the recipient himself for we differ on socio economic status in the community which means we do have different needs and that will vary on how we will spend the second stimulus check. For the people that belong on the lower classes or the poorest of the poor, surely they would spend it to provide their necessities. For those in the middle up to upper class, it depends if they will use it for investment or purchase other things that concerns their necessities.

Here in our country where I currently reside, we do also have same program which is giving financial aid to support the directly affected individuals mostly for the sector of the poorest of the poor and what I can see, most of them used it for the sake of survival on which they primarily used it to purchase their necessities to survive the pandemic due to lack of source if income amid with the existence of pandemic. Here states that the expenditure of the stimulus or the financial aid depends on the individual based on the needs they needed to fulfill.

what more can i say? lucky for those who don't really need this money to survive. and more then likely they will just spend it to unnecessary things. but $1200 is actually not big amount, in reality, this amount will just be spent unnoticed. food and basic things alone with the added bills - that money is actually not enough to cover all those expenditures but will just lessen some financial troubles.

The sad thing about this is the fact that if you get 600 dollars a month you are getting 2.4k dollars a month and that means 28.8k per year, that is over the amount some people make with their work, can you even imagine that? We are talking about government hand out being so low and so bad that it is just to help you survive and you do nothing to get it, you are just a citizen, whereas some bosses around the country pay you even less than that!

Look at amazon, some workers are making basically less than that or work more to get more but around the same level and these people are working non-stop constantly moving and doing work for over 8 hours a day, its not a office sitting down job, it is 8+ hours per day constantly working, hell they pee on bottles to not miss out profits!! And their boss? Jeff Bezos nearly worths 200 billion dollars. The problem is not the stimulus check, the problem is the wealthy ones.

Sometimes people only see success without ever wanting to see the process of achieving success. The boss is the one who owns and creates the system. Job seekers are people who hope to enter into a meaningful system that consciously, whether forced or not, we accept all the rules of the system. We will not be able to argue anything, because in fact, it started as an office in an Amazon garage which is now the leading company in the world. His boss succeeded in building and making Amazon an economic giant. As a matter of fact, we have not been able to equal or even surpass their achievements, so that our arguments will be very easily debunked.

I don't live in the US. But in my country we also receive a little help and what little we receive we spend on food.

Do a search and I found a census conducted of Americans and published on June 24, 2020.

In order what the majority of respondents answered.
Food
Rent payment
Payment of basic services (gas, electricity, cable, internet and cellphone).
Personal care and clothing.
Purchase of TVs, and other electronics

How Are Americans Using Their Stimulus Payments?

Crypto is not a religion but i like it
Too subtle a question. It depends on the recipient of the payment - how well they are doing at the moment. Someone can really spend these payments on a PC or on a new xbox / ps and someone will just buy products for another month and be happy about it because yesterday he eat last piece of bread. I am not from the United States but if I were, I would divide these funds into a couple of parts and put something aside for the future and spend something on current needs if there are any.

Feds charge Florida man with fraud for buying Lamborghini with COVID relief funds

"Federal prosecutors said in a statement "that within days of receiving the PPP funds, Hines purchased a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan sports car for approximately $318,000, which he registered jointly in his name and the name of one of his companies.""

He didn't think too long about buying lamborghini, probably he had a plan from the beginning! I agree with you, people never stop surprising me with their actions, it's just crazy what some people are ready to do! Did he really thought that he can get away with this?

I got 100 euros from my government. I bought some meat and drinks, and invited friends! That was a nice day! You can't do many things with 100 euros, so I decided to spend them on fun. There will be no second check in my country, but if it happens (chances for that are very low) I will probably do the same thing!

Honestly there are so many companies who are getting tens of millions of dollars in help that people talking and focusing on the mere 1.200 others are getting is silly and makes no sense at all. I get that if you want to defend any politician or any ideology you can, but the total amount spent to help people out is around 400 billion dollars so far, and to help the companies there has been about 3 trillion dollars, so as you can see companies are getting 6 times more.

Companies may "need" more because companies have bigger expenses than the people but this is stimulus check, not loan to help you out or anything. If USA didn't helped companies this much and just gave half of that to people we would not have companies in trouble since people would buy stuff from those companies.

The stimulus given by the government is certainly our own responsibility and we are free to use it for what.

halving stimulus funds will certainly be better. used as an investment and some others are used to pay bills and to survive.
You got the full responsibility to your money once the government have given them to you, they won't interfere with whatever you do to the money unless you get involve in illegal activities like illegal drugs or something. Buying crypto with stimulus checks is possible, in fact the first time that the stimulus checks have been given, there are deposits in coinbase in exactly $1200 buying crypto not only bitcoins, we can't assume that these are the real stimulus check that they got or just the whales trying to play around. If I were given the stimulus I'd probably split it in investment ( for the future ) and necessaries ( present ) so I'll still be able to have a funds, and to be honest I'm not getting it completely with crypto.

Investing in crypto or other sectors gives little hope to be able to get more benefits from some stimulus funds.
crypto is really risky, and if they do that they are risking more than the others.

Financial Management must be really done well so that all needs are fulfilled and can get some benefits.
Proper management of money will give them a longer time to survive until the next cash aid arrives. (possibly)

In most cases people will settle all the debt that's been got during the time of pandemic.

This is very important in order to build back their credits, people will think of settling it after receiving their stimulus check.

If I'll be receiving a stimulus, I'm not from the US. The things that I'll buy will be divided into many things. I won't be buying a new computer but I'll be upgrading so that's the first one.
The next will be investing in bitcoin and a lower portion for the stocks if it's essential. And the remaining balance, I'll save it for an emergency fund so that if I don't have a budget anymore it will be for essentials.

You should also put your shoes in the situation of the Americans who will be receiving these stimulus checks. Right now they will be receiving another one because a lot of them lost their jobs as well as the price of basic needs have risen that's why they will be receiving a financial aid from the US government. If you put yourself in their position you won't really have any room for upgrades in your pc or think about investment. Because if you want to survive in these pandemic without any money you'll also be starting think about liquidating all your assets.
I don't have to, it's just a situation if ever I'll be in their place so that's what I'll do and I think which is enough for me to spend the amount that will be distributed through the stimulus.
But if I'll be in their situation, I'm not upgrading my PC just for nothing. It's another investment that I can also use to produce income through working at home so that should be a good place to put that stimulus because it will generate income.

I don't request loans~
I doubt most of those that can get stimulus checks are those that are able to invest tbh. Personal supplies and the like are much better alternatives right now. Yes, pretty much investing in stocks, upgrading your personal equipment, etc., are good ideas for the long term. Sadly, most are already having a hard time for the present, so I doubt they'd actually have the leisure to even think about what their expenses could do for their long term whether it be for personal enjoyment or for just the reason of wanting to live.

list are mostly gadgets and personal gratification . you forgot to add gambling  . gambling is mostly people will spend thier stimulus  . i dont have mine and i dont know how to avail of those  . maybe because im just new here on the place where i currently reside but i saw my neighbors got rice and some groceries instead of cash.  thats way more better if i were to ask because we saw above on where would people spend their stimulus, they only spend it on useless things
Giving out money and giving out supplies, which seems better when looking from the sides? I for sure think giving out money is better, in terms of you being given the attention that is. They're mostly doing it so that they can show the world they are doing something, even though it isn't the best choice, it is a choice that can appeal better though.

Depend on how much the money, there's no need to buy BTC as a whole.

Yes, I know there are anticipations that there might be a pullback but in terms of putting money on crypto, it's way better to pull that trigger right away if the purpose is continuous accumulation providing the current price behavior doesn't seem to show sign of any big pullbacks***.

But take note that there's no need to push or force for it if there's a difficulty handling the financial management. Focus instead on the investment wherein good results can be seen in the short-term.

I would assume that if you are getting stimulus check and you do not need money as of right now (as in paid all your debts and bills and so forth) do not look at bitcoin right away. It is at a high right now and buying at high is not a good decision.

I would say look at something else for now, people are overreacting what happened to bitcoin and how it is up 67% since the last stimulus check but if you bought Tesla stock at the right price and sold at the right price you could have made about 5x return from it and that is not a stock that is a little known thing, it is one of the best known stocks in the market right now. So, just make sure that you have enough money first and when you are sure that all your debt is paid, just check what is down before you invest into anything.

I think we had this discussion once and only two guys from the WOT spent their check on coins if we go through all the forum the percentage might drop a lot, and if here people aren't that keen on doing so I doubt the overall numbers are something to even bother considering as a market mover.

Fortunately for me, my work was not affected, I didn't get any pay cut yet so I will not benefit for the compensation plan in my country but hypothetically I doubt I would have spent it on anything other than necessities if the amount was mandatory to be spent like food vouchers in the welfare program we have here, and if not probably I would have just sent the amount to my bank account. If you're in a though situation probably the last thing you want to do with that money is take a gamble, especially if there is an uncertainty in the economy and that might be your last check for awhile.

Stimulus checks are supposed to be used to pay expenses for the many people who became unemployed and have no salary to fall back on to pay their living expenses.

This.

Stimulus checks are supposed to be used to pay expenses for the many people who became unemployed and have no salary to fall back on to pay their living expenses.

Unemployment benefits are for the unemployed.

The main purpose of direct stimulus payments is getting people to spend money, to "stimulate" the economy, with the goal of preventing deflation. The social safety net aspect is secondary, if that, especially when you consider these payments are tiny when compared to the cost of living in the US.

Someone making $70K a year gets the same $1,200 payment as someone who is homeless. Obviously some people need the money more than others.

The United States government provides stimulus checks to be used to help buy daily necessities so as not to starve those who are not working.
If there is still left over, it must be used for important things, namely paying various bills. But if you don't have a bill, it's certainly better used
for investment so that the money does not run out quickly and can generate profits. The best investment choice is to buy cryptocurrency.

I already got a good amount in cryptocurrencies and I think I will stop with that for now until we go back to our normal daily living.
If ever that will happen again. I hope.
Buying the computer is meant for my wife to get back on her job. That way, we can start experiencing how working from home is and also to help cover other things that needs to be paid.

Dude not only the Americans can relate with this scenario because we are also experiencing the haed effects of pandemic and stimulus package is also one of the ways of our government to ease the pain of everyone Cheesy. Here in our country, we already accepted the first tranche of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) and the second one is already processing. What I don't know is if we are still included on it since the situation here in our province is not as severe from the urban areas.

Anyway, if ever we received again, we will use it mostly to pay our debts and bills then the rest would be our savings. No room for leisure things at this moment because there's no vaccine yet.

Unfortunately, I am not from the US. In my country, there is such a kind of stimulus but only for certain societies. They are the ones that is lack of income, have no job, and also have not enough money even for food. Normally if someone gets the stimulus, what they will spend during this pandemic:
1. For food
2. For daily needs
3. For bills
Normally, they will not pay attention to investment because they can only earn for food and they have relieved to accept the stimulus.

However, if it is about ourself, the stimulus that is more than it, for nonpremier needs, here are my choices:
Video card(s)?: big no, don't need such kind of this.
New Computer?: Probably because sometimes my device is error
Stocks?: thinking of buying gold, but let's see the market chart of Gold
Pay off credit cards?: do not have any credit cards, so no.
Buy Crypto?: yes if there is still any funds, crypto investment in top coins moreover BTC and ETH
Bills, bills, bills?: If there is still any bills, of course, it must be

Second Stimulus check - What are you going to do with it?

How sure are you it will happen?  Do you have any links where it is planed to happen?

I believe most will spend it for similar as in first case. Rent, and repay loans.

Agree, not everyone are capable to invest at the moment, government are giving Stimulus checks so it will ease the burden people are carrying now due to the pandemic. For most of us, this is not the time to invest, but the time to save up and minimize spending as we don't know if there's worst than the current situation. When the government is giving money instead of jobs, that's not a good sign of the economy's future.

For me, I'll only invest it in some of my "wants" after I already bought my "needs", such like paying bills, buying foods and primary nececesities on my family before buying some of my personal "wants" or even investing it in cryptocurrency or stocks. Althought, buying stocks or cryptocurrency are kinda good investment for that money came from government, but buying those needs of the family is priority which is that is also one of the reason why stimules checks are distributed.

I think Bernie Sanders said that a 1,200$ payment for each household "won't cut it" for the bills that piled up and the jobs that are lost and he even said 2,000$ monthly should at least be the amount. With that being said depending on the situation of the family I think majority will see that 1,200$ per household is something that they need to be thrifty about and they can't think about investments nor anything about unnecessary expenses since if their jobless they won't have any source of income and the money they are getting is just from the this aid.

It's like if you give $10 to a homeless begging in the street and instead to buy food you see him buying the latest iPhone (ok iPhone doesn't cost 10 bucks but you get the point).

It should be mandatory that it should only be used in certain places, such as supermarkets.
The same people who complain because they don't have enough money, living paycheck to paycheck, but when they get free money, see what they do with it...

Then they will also complain because the country's deficit increased. Free money that will be paid by paying higher taxes...from people who weren't eligible to the stimulus by the way.

Along those lines...

There was/is talk of a $4000 vacation "credit" that could be used (spent) over the next 3 years - the only stipulation is that you had to vacation in the United States.

So for example; you go to Disney land next year, you spend $5000; you can get a Tax Credit of $4000 (not a tax deduction).

Strange stimulus I guess, but all things considered; I would be booking my trip to Disney !

I think however that some people will be using their checks for entertainment expenses, and if they're giving checks to people who don't need it, then their rules aren't stringent enough and this is basically injecting more money into the economy which is an outcome we don't want, since this is virtually creating more money and will cause a deprecation of the dollar eventually.
Of course people are going to spend free cash on entertainment and other non-necessities.  I think the majority of US citizens aren't in danger of starvation if they don't get a second stimulus check.

But the question is, what am I going to do with it.  My bills are paid at the moment, so I'll probably just save it or invest it in the stock market in case I need it later.  I'm not quite sure what bitcoin is going to be doing, and since its price has increased a lot over the last week or so, I don't think I'll be buying any.  I love bitcoin, but it's looking pretty risky right now.

if buying crypto is allowed , why not, since we know crypto is on fire from 2 weeks ago.
Yeah, it's allowed.  The government just sends you a check or deposits funds directly into your bank account, and you're free to do whatever you want with it.  As to your second statement, since bitcoin is on fire, that's the reason I'm reluctant to buy any.  I don't think it's near the top for the year, but bitcoin is so unpredictable that I wouldn't chance it.

It's an aid from the government but I would invest it rather in crypto than just save it in the bank waiting for inflation to hit its value. I have a job and business and I am earning well, so I guess that's just a bonus for me now, I know we have different answer as that is based on the individuals current situation, so if anyone lacks on their basic needs, they should use it according to its purpose.

Since you're in the Bitcoin forum, you'll be expecting a lot of answer that investing in cryptocurrency is the best option.
Though the real purpose of stimulus checks is for the taxpayers to spend  to push the economy forward during the economic recession, but I guess it is the wisest decision to invest this check anywhere your comfortable with (Btc or stocks for example) than spending it to something unnecessary. Btc somehow rise a bit during the 1st stimulus check release, and people are speculating some investors from the US used these checks to buy Btc.

I'm not from the US, but we too have financial assistance during calamities. In my case I haven't prioritize investment rather spending it to basic/household necessities as the amount I have recieved isn't that much as the stimulus checks, plus I haven't been able to go to work for a month due to pandemic. So, that sure depends on the financial status of an individual.

But as what I've noticed, people in the US are fond of using gadgets for entertainment. Take Apple company as an example, they have grown their earnings amidst the pandemic on May, I guess that also because of the 1st stimulus checks. So, most probably people their would do the same in the second round of distribution.

Well, I'm not able to become a US citizen. However, If I were, I would use the money to invest some on technology projects, stocks, including bitcoin and ethereum. Since the world is facing a dangerous pandemic, holding a digital asset has more chances to give you a large profit in the near future. As you know, nothing can stop the development of new technology and research. Moreover, cryptocurrencies are told to be higher and stronger. People are aware of the situation where governments and companies take control of everything, especially their life. Buying cryptocurrency is way more than making an investment for your financial plan but also for your future traits and your own privacy

However, as I saw by myself, not everyone is capable of buying stuff like that. They have to struggle for food, living, and many other things. Being a US citizen is kinda tough and if you can't deal with that, you can fall to the bottom of the society. Making an investment may be the only way to escape the situation like that

I'm not from the U.S, but I would assume it would depend on the financial status of the recipient. Investment and entertainment would only be an option if the person was pretty comfortable without the stimulus and didn't have any outstanding bills to offset.
If I was getting one, I would want to convert the funds out of my local first currency as quickly as possible as its value is dwindling. My preferred options would be cryptocurrency (especially Bitcoin) and an SME (there are a couple of businesses I think would thrive this period)

The banks would be hoping some of the funds gets recirculated within the country as that's the purpose of of these packages; stimulating spending.

If I get stimulus money from the government, I divide it into two. Investing in the crypto market and investing in the real sector through equity crowdfunding. Investment in the crypto market does not require a large amount, so the results can be used to increase daily expenses while investing in the real sector can help the economy in my country spin with the hope that many people can survive. With equity crowdfunding, investing in the real sector is easy and does not require fantastic funds.

I think is thread is USA focused as we (many, not everyone) are about to get another stimulus check. What are you going to spend it on ?

Video card(s)?

New Computer?

Stocks?

Pay off credit cards?

Buy Crypto?

Bills, bills, bills?
