That's an informative post. The new Ethereum token standard protocol has been declared based on security token. It is known as ERC-1400 we should be compliant of both ERC-777 and ERC-20. It will be different from utility token with interactions of both off chain and on chain actors.

I think it is a step in the right direction, this way wallets can make themselve kyc verified and then purchase as many security tokens as they want, i hope these new token class will also provide more features related to this class.

I have already seen two ICOs that are currently undergoing, which will already be releasing security tokens. I'm still foggy about what it is, but it's interesting in appearance. Let's see how they show themselves in practice. I, in principle, are happy that the tokens continue to improve. I believe that the future of crypto-currencies is precisely behind the tokens. This is not just virtual money, but money, which has various practical functions useful for people.

Blockchain developer Stephane Gosselin, together with Adam Dossa, Pablo Ruiz, and Fabian Vogelsteller proposed on Monday a new security token standard based on the Ethereum network. The standard, called ERC-1400, is meant to help entities organize security token offerings (STOs) and better comply with regulations.

What's our opinion on this?
A new standard of security token base on Ethereum sounds odd but very interesting anyway since most of the startups is using Ethereum Blockchain on there ICO campaigns I think its quite promising since regulatory issues still hurting cryptos nowadays we better watch the next development of this proposal.

I think that they have a chance to be a better token security. But of course, I'm sure that their system may be still progressing. We cannot predict how the future will accept this or not. But, I think it is a good movement and development of the blockchain technology especially for the Ethereum standard system. But then the question is can it compete and be better than the previous model?

Whoah! That's a great news. A new Ethereum network ERC-1400 is being built for the security tokens. ERC-20 and ERC-777 standards will both be compliant with the new token. Moreover, the new tokens will be different from the utility token as the new tokens would be backed by real-world assets.

Doesn't matter if it is ERC 20 or even ERC 14000, in the end the people will go for BTC. But for the time being the previous tokens did have a lot of lacking. hopefully ERC 1400 will be the better token.

STOs will definitely change this market. I've heard podcast with IAN balina, he also believe in security tokens, but claims that market isn't ready yet, so probably in 2-3 years STOs will be on demand.
ETF adoption should affect STOs as well.

So. STOs are the next big thing it would seem. Saw an STO idea last month, thought this was some hype but looks like it could be the one thing to save Ether, or at least bring it back up to 1k by the end of the year. Think it would work? Or will STOs just be bought over by all the whales? I don't see how they can pick up in volume if they truly will be securities. KYC is the one thing guys like me can't get past, not so much for privacy concerns but simply the fact that our genetic lotteries didn't come up good. Any of you guys think it's actually going to gain traction?

Like, will the crypto currency used to buy that STO token will be back once the company is bankrupt?

Like refund, for now, I don't have any idea of this STO automation.  Better give it some more time.

I don't even know the difference between ERC20 and ERC23, that's why I stick mostly with BTC Grin
now there is a new type of token, ERC1400? what exactly the difference on them?
and what makes this new ERC1400 should be the new standard?

Agreed. Me too I didn't bother to know what the difference it. But based on what I know, based on news, STOs is the new way securities tokens made to comply with the law. So I bet this new ERC-1400 is to standardize and automate the process?

Correct it might be the new way to avoid scams since they will need to comply with the law by now.
If I understand it correctly it is like an automatic KYC so that they cannot run away even if they didnt hit the soft ot other kind of scams.

That way investors will be protected.
I have so many questions about this now.

The fact that developers continue to work on improving Blockchain is good.

But the ERC-1400 protocol is not the most promising. I think that soon a safer and more universal standard will appear
