i am not worrying about merits, i just this time checked that merit is just a number or something more, like bitcoin is, first it take time to confirm a transaction, and it comes to it;s destination address. (a kids thought just experimenting)
LOL, you don't need confirmation time to receive merit and send it. Maybe because the browser cache or something else can still slow down the process of accumulating in calculation. Ignore and simply ignore, done.

Now close your thread and look for something else interesting. This is not bug.  Tongue

[snip]
It could be a problem with your internet network my friend and for me it's not a bug because when you switch browsers when you send to merit, then what was originally considered an oddity turns into normal.
My guess is the browser you were using at that time was Mozilla. In my experience, Mozila is slightly heavier than Crhome.

My guess is the same as OmegaStarScream. You see a list of sending, not a list of receiving merit, the account you sent merit.

Take a look at my process of sending it to OmegaStarScream.
The process runs as usual and doesn't take more than 10 minutes.

yes, i don't think it takes 10minutes, i said i waited 10minutes means not constantly refreshing the tab for 10 minutes.

ok thanks.

Op, once you send a merit to a user just take your mind off it as long as you're sure that you sent to the right user. You shouldn't worry your self about sure things, I'm pretty sure you you have other more important things to worry about than the merit stats taking more time to update.
As long as the user recipient of the merit will receive it then it does not really matter even if takes up to a day to update.

so I don't think it's bug.
Yes it's not a bug, I think it's normal to take a while even I often notice this when checking received or sent merits.

  • The first place (profile page) usually has a lag of seconds or up to 1 minute to update. I am sure it won't take up to 10 minutes to update.
10 minutes is too long, but I never realized that, but I believe what you say it only takes a few seconds and up to 1 minute at most.

So I don't know if this is redundant since the OP said it's a bug?

but is it normal to have this type of problem or event (no word in mind)?
That's normal, it's just that you are too worried.
Actually I'm not sure this update will take more than 2 minutes, I think 10 minutes is too long. In my case it only took 1-2 minutes, no more.

But what's the point of paying attention to this one after you've send merit to someone? But to be honest I think it's another thread from you that has created 6 different thread today. I'm not sure why this thread has to, but I know you may be worrying too much.

This is strange to me, infact am hearing of it kind the first time, i will advise OP to either try send to another member and see what comes after, sometimes it may be our mobile network or something beyond explanation, but the likely common one I've seen and experienced is the one whereby you send merit to a user and left the page to go offline, i noticed when you come back online, you may get an error response to resubmit your request, if you press ok then you will be sending the merit twice.

i also checked now after waiting for ~10 minutes, and now it's showing, (and i changed my browser to from brave to chrome)
It does not take too long like 10 minutes, are you sure?

It is normal from my experience. There is a lag between your merit stat on your profile page and your merit history page (for received and sent merit history).
  • The first place (profile page) usually has a lag of seconds or up to 1 minute to update. I am sure it won't take up to 10 minutes to update.
  • The second place (merit history page) is updated nearly instantly.

If you visit their pages such as https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/cafter-3526239, updating merits requires some time. I do not know how much time, but it takes some time.
when you see the merits on the topic, the update is immediate. Nobody else noticed it, so I don't think it's bug.

You know what they say:

If it seems like a bug, flies like a bug, buzzes like a bug… then it is a bug.

I think you are onto something. (Is it a bug under your foot?)

I'm not sure I understand. Where can you see it's not being updated? You're showing the list of "Sent merits" in his profile, instead of the ones he received:

yeah, it is normal. there are times when it takes some time for the information on a profile to be updated. if you spend more time here in the forum you'll see more instances similar to this case and it is not just exclusive to profile information or merits.

Looks like you are right. I check your merit profile, there's a record that you sent some merit to LFC_Bitcoin while in LFC_Bitcoin profile doesn't have a record.

And i don't know merit sending takes a while, i always knew it as instant.

Edit: Ah, okay, i was confused for the Sent and Received merit, it's there actually.

to arrive merits and update at profile takes time.?

i sent merits to LFC_Bitcoin and after refreshing the tab the merit was not arrived.

and if takes 'time' to arrive merit then it's normal ?

my profile after sending merit    :

LFC_Bitcoin profile after sending merits. i think the number is updated at that red marked place from 8001 to 8002 :
