May I suggest a safer alternative, xCoins.io. Users receive money with PayPal as usual, but they give bitcoin as a secured loan, instead of selling it. If something goes wrong (chargeback), the lender is protected by the loan agreement. Disclaimer: I work for xCoins.io

Pretty sure PayPal is planning towards integrating Bitcoin in the near future.

For now it's being incorporated as a payment option for merchants:

Interestingly there have been some cases where PayPal actually sided with the seller as soon as they provided the respective transaction on the Blockchain! It's definitely an interesting development, considering they have been siding with the buyer in effectively 100% of the cases!

I heard that PayPal is interested in using bitcoin and was looking at reputable partners to work with...

Yeah in a nutshell, *uck paypal. Had over $2000 stolen from me due to chargebacks so I'd avoid using them if possible. If they so much as sniff anything bitcoin related, they'll limit your paypal account without any warning.

although it is risky but you can always use paypal ONLY with someone trustworthy maybe someone in forum who has a good reputation otherwise it is better you choose some other way

It is true but sometimes PayPal just is on the guard and the person whom you exchange with may have their account just limited and the money is reversed in your account as well. It has happened with me once when my sender's account was limited and I lost my cash too.

paypal reversable payment  Huh

If you deal with untrusted websites or users, the transaction can be reversed as well. That is why PayPal transactions take place less here  due to the charge backs.

I'd never use paypal, they can say the btc were never delivered and reverse the transaction.
Can't you get a Neteller or Skrill card? There are many people buying through them on local bitcoins, some using escrows.

PayPal limits your account if you are having any bitcoin transactions and hence it is better to go through a trusted exchanger rather than a website which can be risky and your account will be frozen.

try using localbitcoins. Since paypal no longer bans people's accounts for using it with bitcoin I thought I would "necro" this thread. People should not be afraid of using paypal with bitcoin anymore. Also checkout a more detailed tutorial on how to convert paypal to bitcoin here: http://www.btcfeed.net/tutorials/how-to-convert-paypal-to-bitcoin/

I dont recomend Paypal for BTC adventures, lots of scammers.

True, but you can sell it to only trusted people in the currency exchange section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0.
It is still not 100% safe though.

Straight BTC for paypal is VERY VERY risky.

If I was to sell it i would send paper wallet in mail.  Sounds stupid but then you have a shot at scammers having a little harder time.  Still I would not go that route.

great place to sell bitcoin .  Got paid real fast . Exchange rate is good too .

I would not recommend a random website like this one.
You should go with more trusted sites in my opinion.

this website allow you to sell bitcoin and receive payment through paypal.  Their exchange rate and fee are a lot better than btc-e.com
http://www.vnbitcoin.org/sellbitcoinforusd.php

But with BTC to paypal most important is trust the transaction wont be charged back

http://www.vnbitcoin.org/sellbitcoinforusd.php   is very realiable so far . with no complain from anyone .  They are paying within 24 hours with their debit card.
Bitcoin is a system base on trust . If seller just base on risk only , NO one should sale bitcoin at all .  Just believing and trusting the big name like mtgox and inputs.io . We can see the outcome .

Selling bitcoins for paypal is very risky. Deal only with very trusted person or website. Paypal can be charged back within 45 days.

Crypto-trade,btc-e and emebtc has paypal withdrawal option. I think they are sending this using random paypal account and without any comments so that paypal woudn't know.

Just a word of advice for all newbies, PayPal has a habit of FREEZING your paypal account for an "investigation" if they have "reason to believe" that your conducting bitcoin transactions.

+1 Note that this includes (but is not limited to) non-bitcoins transactions as well:

- Accepting donations when you are not a pre-registered (with Paypal!) charity
- anyone from the blacklisted countries sending you money
- random things that nobody knows and PayPal can just take your account as they are not a bank...

Beware of PP

Is it possible to sell Bitcoins on an exchange which then transfers your money to a PayPal account? I'd like to avoid using a bank account for this. MtGox doesn't seem to support paypal...

I'm going to avoid selling without an exchange website so I don't get scammed.

All I want to do is convert BTC to dollars in a paypal account, not the other way. Will PayPal block my account if I am doing this?

This probably isn't exactly what you had in mind, but i've not found an easy to convert BTC to paypal. I've taken to selling coins instead, which isn't that much effort.

What I do is advertise on noticeboards around colleges, business parks and anywhere else I think there might be people interested. I link them to this ad i've posted

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/chatswood/other-stuff-for-sale/bitcoins-for-aud-sydney-chatswood-/1001215988

and ask them to do the following

1. After selecting send funds enter in [email protected] in the "to" field
2. Enter in [SALE AMOUNT] in the amount [[SALE AMOUNT] X [BTC RATE]]
3. Select AUD for the currency
4. Select Person and "gift"
5. Press continue
6. Ensure "I will pay the fee" is ticket
7. Enter in your bitcoin deposit address in the subject field at the bottom of the screen [where it says "you've got funds"]
8. ignore the message field, it's not relevant to my automated process.
9. Press "send money"
10. Usually the bitcoin network will process your confirmations within 20 minutes to 2 hours

It's obviously a leap of faith, but so is using an exchange or any of the other services. Usually most people like to conduct a face to face trade, or give me a call to chat before going through the transaction. From this i've built up a small base of customers who trust me, which gives me a better way of converting BTC to cash rather than withdrawing through an exchange.

I've not had any problems with paypal, though it is in the back of my mind. I withdraw all funds as soon as they hit paypal for that reason. At least then if they freeze my account for whatever reason [not sure what that would be] i'll only lose a small amount.

Easiest I've come across is Spendbitcoins.com to amazon payments. Gets the highest mtgox rate when you cash out. Takes a week to clear but it's quick and convenient. I've put 150 coins through. So far so good.

Amazon payments doesn't charge fees even on credit cards to personal accounts. ( for the first $1,000 a months ). It's awesome.

PayPal is crap.

I would assume it is OK as long as it is bitcoin to Paypal. And not the other way around.

It looks like Eclipse mining pool is letting you get money for your mining work in Paypal.

But Paypal has high fees and everything. Losing a lot of money just to have money go through Paypal is a bit bad.

https://www.spendbitcoins.com/convert/paypal/ seem to offer converting Bitcoin to PayPal.

Because PayPal charges a fee (the normal $0.30 + 2.9%) that amount gets passed along and subtracted before the withdrawal payment is sent.

Bicoin Nordic does withdrawal to PayPal as well, with a 10% haircut on the exchange rate:

Works, but for larger amounts it gets expensive.

There are usually traders on #bitcoin-otc willing to do 1:1 or close to it.  You're the one extending trust but the trust ratings will help you know how to avoid risk:

They could. As well as the account of the other party.

You would be hard-pressed to find such an exchange, for the reason stated above.

https://www.spendbitcoins.com/convert/paypal/ seem to offer converting Bitcoin to PayPal.

If you can use Amazon Payments instead of PayPal, you can try CoinCard which is highly recommended.

I'm going to avoid selling without an exchange website so I don't get scammed.
If you do the trade with a reputable member of this forum or bitcoin-otc there is close to 0 chance of being scammed, and it's also not very likely PayPal would find out.
