Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?

It's depend of your target price goal if there is or if you see that you have earned enough that you are satisfied with your estimated earnings then sell it now as we don't know of how much you buy your Bitcoin. Sell high and buying it low again is the life of trading so if you sell your Bitcoin when the price is still at $10,000 before then you will be very fortunate now as you will have the opportunity to buy it again at below $8,000.

Buying for a low price is good for the traders who've learned a lot from previous trades which eventually made them skillful towards handling crucial situation. Actually it's just easy to advice great motivational words, though many people usually advice selling high and buy at low but it's not an easy thing to do. As price went cheaper now falling below $8k, selling isn't a good choice rather buying additional holdings should be made.

Lucky for you that you are able to join the group of people with 1 btc and if I am to advise you based on what you want, I would say that you should hold on to sale for now till future, keep working for more bitcoin that you can be removing to take care of yourself, but keep this one as future investment against all odds.

If you sell bitcoin now, at $8000, you actually have nothing to lose as it will be able to meet up with one or two of your needs and with the level of expenses that one undertakes every day, that $8000 is not even enough to pay 6 months' rent in my country, so you blow this and give to landlord when you could have waited for when bitcoin will turn to $100k to $1m and give you a very big financial freedom that you will never ever have gotten even if you had worked so hard for it.

I think you should wait a little longer. Actually, the right moment to sell depends on the price at the time of your purchase for example you bought $50 worth of bitcoin then you should sell it at the time where the became worth of $100. What I mean is that, just sell if you think your investment got doubled.

I think selling bitcoin right now is quiet a bad idea because if you sell your bitcoin right now you will be suffer in a hard lost because the price of the bitcoin right now is very low so if you panic sell it you will be having a loss. Better if you just wait it until it goes up or higher again the price so that if you sell it you can  have a large profit, just wait until the right time to sell your bitcoins.
I can not give you opinion that the current price is suitable for purchase or sale. Perhaps selling is a good chance to collecting from chep price after a few days or perhaps opposite. BTC's price goes around $8000 and it is hard for me to predict what is going to happen. Even it went below $8000 several times, but it came back again. I prefer to wait in this case...

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?

Hello, good day to you. This is what I want you to do, wait a little longer if you are not in a hurry let alone hold the Bitcoin you have, as it is very low now. You see, it's no wonder why most traders today in this industry take advantage of buying Bitcoin while it's at a falling price, when you think it's going to sell. That means this tendency is high again, so just be patient.
Yeah, wait for the right time as by selling it now, you'll only be at loss only. The market right now is declining and selling it just out of panic won't be a good idea. Just be patient and take it as an opportunity like most of the traders seek in the bearish market for further investment...

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?
If I were you jsut hold it and just ignore the price if you see it falling down. Holding is the only good choice that you can do if you really want to earn huge amount of money. Until now I didn't sell my bitcoin and most of them are in my ledger wallet which i keep in my safe place. You are the only one who know when is the right time to sell it so just be patient and just watch the price of bitcoin growing up in the year 2020.

I try my best to ignore the price else you sit there biting at your nails wondering what will happen next and it is just nerve-wracking and probably shaves years off of your life. I am still collecting bitcoin.
I don't have so much now I was forced to sell some but hopefully my new work I will be able to earn some dirty fiat and exchange it for the purity that is bitcoin.  Grin

Every moment you have profit feees included its always time to sell and rebuy again at lower price, dont aim for huge crazy percentage rise before you sell youll eventually lose all your money in that way.Set a threshold where youll be selling and be buying again

for beginners like you. You can easily check prices on different exchanges and think whether you are satisfied if you want to sell now. consider current market prices, initial capital, profit targets. You should look at market conditions if it is still declining the right choice is save.

You should always sell at the top and buy at the bottom, because of you buy at the top and saw the bottom, you will lose the maximum amount of money. You have to buy Bitcoin when it is low, and so when it is at the peak.

I think this is something that is very easy to digest and see with you, because the way to sell and make a profit is very easy. This is a small example, suppose you buy some Btc at a price of $ 50, you can sell it at a price of $ 100, so you have made a profit. of $ 50 from the price you bought at the time, but you have to know how the right moment is to benefit from this Btc price.

If you want to make a good profit with your Bitcoin then you have to wait for the right time, It maybe a month or more than a few months. but the price certainly will recover and go to above 10k for sure. this is a basic theme, It's my strategy to focus on the future purpose, I always follow the trend of the price of BTC and make a right-click when my mind knocks me. So listen to the rational rhythm of your heart. I think the decision should be based on the real market scenario and your need. if you need urgent money then stay focused on the market properly. Do not trade with emotion trade using your Brain.

You can follow @tonevays on twitter. He provides good advice on trading bitcoin. you may take some lessons from him though the price is over .1BTC but I think it's worth it to learn more about trading.

You know what I love about crypto? It’s always contradict with the mainstream news, I remember the time being when they called for btc to dump below 2000 when it’s around 3k, and they’re adding oil to it by naming some whales are selling atm, and it’s all over the YouTube FB Twitter IG, Reddit 4chan blah you name it, and you know what’s next?

We can guess that some whales can manipulate the information (pay for some mass media sources, for instance, to publish fake news), and doing it, they can let the market go up or down (in their interests). Thus, I also do not trust too much these "specialists' reports" as many of them are simply orders of those, who pay money to manipulate people and the crypto market as the result.

I ask first, where did you get bitcoin? buy or? if you buy, you must to sell when the price rises more than the price when you buy it. but if you get bitcoin from a bounty or are given a person, you can sell it when the price has go up very high or when you need to sell. fortunately, sell when the price of bitcoin go up and is really high.

If you need it, that is the right moment. Because bitcoin is good for long term holding, so I highly suggest that don't sell your bitcoin if you don't need cash. For me Bitcoin is a long term investment that will give you a lot of profit. Let's hold bitcoin Smiley
And also if you mean't to sell it in terms of trading then just go Smiley but you should keep at least 1 bitcoin for long term investment.

Did you buy your 1 btc? Did you earn it? Was it given to you? If you bought it at a lesser price than it's value now, then it won't hurt to sell. If it was given to you or you earned it through campaigns or tasks, i'd suggest holding on to it. 1 btc is 1 btc. It's value now may very well shoot up in the near future. Store it and forget about it.

Completely agree.

As many countries are doing it with the help of governing authorities and media.

Media especially news never focus on updates. It only used to manipulate the market by publishing news according to the situation.
But I think doing such a thing can bring huge future loss of country as well as the whole society and will impact on economics.

My honest suggestion is, give some time to understand things as now the world has come much closer. The understanding thing will enhance your knowledge, knowledge will give you the power of decision and decision will bring results.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?
To sell or not to sell bitcoins is everyone's personal business. However, we have already seen a rise in the price of bitcoin to $ 20,000, and most likely it will ever be, or maybe even more, its growth will repeat. Therefore, if you do not need money very urgently, let Bitcoin stay in the wallet for now. As they say, you should not cut a chicken that lays golden eggs.
Even with the current state of the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin brings very good income for traders thanks to daily trading.  In any case, even investors buy Bitcoin, because they know that they will receive excellent income in the future.  But in order to hope for a high profit from the cryptocurrency, you do not need to treat activities in the cryptocurrency market as the main source of income, because you need to make investments and forget about them for a certain time.

I only provide input for you, so that you will continue to hold your BTC for the next few months, because as far as I know there is an increase in prices towards October to the end of the year, if you have personal needs then it will come back to you ...

At least a lot of input from everyone on this forum to help you, so the decision is yours now to do or not ..

If you bought above 8k i don't think this is right time to sell especially if you are not in dire need of money at the moment, i would suggest you hodl your btc and don't get bothered about this current market price because btc always finds a way of going back up and surprising people, wait for a better time to sell.
Not unless you are willing to try sorting the market, you can sell with loses and buy it back when the price fall more. There's some traders who have the ability to fine time to play with the market, it's a short term strategy which accompanied by big risk of losing portions of your investment if you unable to project the right movement to follow.

If you sold your bitcoin the moment you post this post, and bought bitcoin yesterday when it started to drop again, maybe you could have made a huge profit by now, and hodl your bitcoin until the end of the year. We are hoping to get a $20,000 per bitcoin before this year end therefore panic selling would not be a good decision, you might regret it in the end so just take a sip of a coffee while you are watching the market crumbles.

When the bull comes, it means all of the time we spent of waiting would paid off finally, and we could say "Lamborghini here I come" Wink

If you really want to sell your bitcoin then consider this golden principle in trading "Buy low, Sell High". If you have purchased your bitcoin much lower compared to the value of today you can have the option to sell it now and buy more when the value goes down more. But always be wary since sometimes the value just climbed up without warning so there is also an option to sell some and leave some. But if you are looking for a big profit and is willing to take a risk then just hold on to your bitcoins and sell it after a year then you will surely have a good profit to earn.
Btw, we don't know when he buy and if we see from the date of the thread we can assume the buying is made at a price range of 9k-10k, if the OP still holds it until now then obviously selling it now will not be right because the price is falling. Holding it in for a long time is indeed a good option if indeed he has patience, but when he doesn't have patience then checking prices from time to time will be a good option to be able to sell it quickly.

You can't expect strangers that don't know a thing about your situation give you relevant advice. There is no right or wrong moment.. it's only the right or wrong moment for you. Maybe you desperately need money for something now and can't wait for long time, then maybe it's better to cash out now. Then it comes the question if you believe in Bitcoin long term or not. If you do then you have the option to take a collateralized loan for your BTC through Nexo or other similar services.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?
Well actually the right moment is when you are making profit enough to be happy about the price you are getting.
Take an example:-
A guy purchased a table for 20$ and sold it for 200$ , he made profit of 180$ , now you need to decide the selling price.
He may have saved it for the time it turns to 2000$ , but he didn't , or the table could have been rusted or something.

You should decide and at the same time keeps heads ahead of the future price prediction and the recent events regarding bitcoins which could change the price .

Well if you want to wait then you shouldn't sell 2021 is a good year , but if you wanna sell them you should do that soon since India is going to ban Bitcoins and the price can go down.

maybe its going down
but
maybe not

maybe tomorrow it will be 30k
Why not?

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?
What i advise you to do is to be rational about how you decide to sell, most of the new people who invest in bitcoin usually panic and get inpatient about selling when they see the price drop and they always end up regretting that, so first of you need to look at what price you got you bitcoin at and see how much profit you have made, at this point if you are at a loss don't sell at all just stick with it, and if the prices are still going up don't sell either just wait until they start going down a bit and than look at your profit and than you can decide whether it is a good time to sell or not, and also never sell all of what you have.

You definitely needed to sell your Bitcoins in August. Now you could have more money than at the current price. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile and it is difficult to predict a good moment to sell here. As noted above, you need to sell when you feel satisfaction from the difference in the price of buying and selling.

We all have our own "right moment" when it comes to selling bitcoin. So no one can tell you when it is. What I can only tell you is that, when you know you gain profit from investing and you're already contented with the price of bitcoin, then it is the right time for you. But right know, it's better to hodl your bitcoin and wait for the improvement of the price.

May I know how much did you buy bitcoin?
If you bought it at 3,500-7500 before and you feel you can't hold it back anymore and wanted to take a profit immediately, then sell it. As long as you have profits, go for your decision. But if you have hesitations especially when you are selling at loss-hold back.

We can't help you to decide whether you sell it now or not, as much as i wanted to say that you have to sell it now, at the end of the day it's you who will gonna experience the two things-suffer or joy because of your decisions. My technical analysis says, it will still go down at $8,000 but of course it is not 100% sure that it will really hit my TA.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?
for now I think it's better if you buy Bitcoin instead of sell because the price of Bitcoin has fallen dramatically. if you want to sell your BTC, you should look at market conditions if it still decreased the right choice is HODL, and if market conditions improve then that is your chance to sell. those are tips on trading to selling BTC for a beginner like you.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?

Pro tip: Not now.

Explanation: buy low, sell high, not the other way around. If you bought higher than today, you do nothing but wait, no matter how long the wait. Else you lose money, period.
Yes, the price will surely gets recovered. If you've bought it at a price higher than the market price at the moment don't go for it. If you've bought it at a lower price then you can go for a selling and buy back at a lower price as the price keeps falling and the predictions were to reach $6000 and even lower by the falling weeks.
Selling your btc is already your own decision. If you think you are badly needing your money, you can sell your btc anytime even if it means not making big profits from it. There are still next chances to buy another bitcoin particularly if their prices are already affordable. But if you just want to sell for no valid reason, better to hold it even more until you will reach your target selling price wherein you can already make huge profits.

I saw your post in August and congratulated you on selling your Bitcoin. If you still hold on to the present, wait for things to be more stable before deciding to sell Bitcoin. The bear market is still going on, so I'm worried that as soon as you sell the market will rebound, which will make your choice the wrong option.

Many people, including me, think that Bitcoin can reach at least 100K. So I don't think selling Bitcoin is a good idea right now. However, there are always risks.
It depends how you get btc, if you invest with it, then wait till you are satisfy with the profit. If you can keep it for long term, do not sell it immediately and invest more of it. There is no right moment because it is always a right moment when you see profit from it rather than loses.

That is if Bitcoin reach $100k.  I am not a pessimist and wanted that to happen but in setting up a price to sell, one should consider the current market price, the initial capital, the target profit and the time span.  Hitting the target price is a good enough reason to sell but too many got burned because they waited for unrealistic price target to occur in their target time span ending them back to square one.

FYI:
Short Term investing is usually 3 years or less.

For Bitcoin , you should have extreme long term investing in mind of 10 to 22 years.

It all depends when you invest if you got in at the end a previous market cycle $3,200 yours still way more than tripple your investment. Buying at ath is silly and freaking out over little dips here and there are as well. This market moves dramatically and quickly.

If anyone is able to convince you that they are able to give the correct tip, then they are lying to the core as no one knows exactly how the market will perform, we can only speculate and since you have invested already and when you are not having any emergency with money you could wait for a few years to get the maximum benefit. Long terms holding is always the best option with every investment.

If you are in need of money then you should have sold that bitcoin from days after you posted this thread

But if you can handle still then HODL as th volatility is attacking the prices these days.

Bitcoin price falls from 10$k down to 8$k and still counting .

The very best thing you must out in mind that If your not in need of fiat nor even in rush to withdraw, then always consider holding your bitcoin so the price won’t fall just like what is happening today when many investors are afraid of losing and now selling to go out of the market

What a joker, if you think like this guy you have no place in crypto investing, stick with negative bonds from the world players and stay "safe" with a losing return. These guys come around every few days, I've seen them since the crash of $300 down.

What I understand from your post is you already earn a good profit from your btc and you want to sell it but you are worried in case the price will continue to grow.

Here is my little advise for you, if your investment is for long time then it's better that you will set a target price when you are going to sell your holdings in order to have a clearer goal. But make sure that your target price is within the range of possible price before hitting the peak of price. For ex. you can set it to sell in 16k$.
You really gave very good advice to set a goal for yourself what price level to expect for all your assets.  The fact is that I divide alarmists in the cryptocurrency market into two groups.  The first group is those people who start to panic due to price fluctuations and do not know what to expect and how to react.  Based on this, they have a desire to sell coins at the prices that are available for a given period, if a further reduction in prices occurs.  But there is another group of people that does not have a specific goal to achieve which you can calm down and get an income.  I believe that it is best to adhere to the opinion that the cryptocurrency market can still return to the indicators of the end of 2017, but perhaps for this you need to wait a year or two.  In any case, long-term investments will bring good returns, but for this you need to be patient.

Do you know? You're so funny for believing bitcoin will downtrend to the price range you mentioned and I hate the part that your message will mislead some newbie cause this won't be the first time bitcoin market will experience some dump in price because it usually reaches the last opportunity level for investors and accumulators to invest which is what we're seeing now and this is the max chance to invest or buy it cheap.
I will advise newbie who's yet to be experienced to hold their previous coin while the accumulate more BTC in this current market.

The right moment to sell your bitcoin is depends on you because only you knows if you can gain profit if you will sell your btc now. Bitcoin is still higher so far ,so if you buy your bitcoin during the time that bitcoin value is cheaper then i think you ca make profit by now or still wait another bitcoin high.

I assume it is not a difficult thing if you have a target. How much do you plan to gain profits from your BTC? As long as it is reasonable, the best moment to sell is when the price of Bitcoin can meet with your target. It will be easier if you keep it for long term, then you are no need to hurry for selling it.  Wink

A simple tip from me is to buy when prices are low and sell when prices are high, so you will get profit from the difference in increase. For when will you have to buy and sell, I think the explanation is quite long but the answer is simply in my first sentence above.

To determine when to buy and sell there are various strategies and analysis that must be done, it will be quite long if explained here but I will give some references that might help you in learning to trade.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?

The right moment to sell btc is to sold it on your target price its better to hold now because we believe in the future bitcoin will reach up to 50k$.its not easy to wait for the price pump but we need to wait for the coming price increase.
It depends how you earn btc because when you do trading, you have to sell when the price is more higher than you purchase it. You can also hold the coin and set your expected price and wait to reach that point. Consider the risks and keep calm when holding it.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I find myself with about a btc and I would like to sell, but I don't know what the right moment is .. tips?

Many people, including me, think that Bitcoin can reach at least 100K. So I don't think selling Bitcoin is a good idea right now. However, there are always risks.
And I guess others are right that the answer to this depends a lot on the initial price at which you bought it. If one bought BTC for $500 per coin, then selling now means getting awesome profits, and waiting for another 10x rise might be greedy and not worth the risks of losing what you've already managed to accumulate. On the other hand, if one bought them during the recent drop at, say, $4k per coin, then waiting to make more profits seems more justified, does not it? But you are right, of course, that personal belief on what Bitcoin can reach is also important here, and selling at $10k if you're sure it will be $100k does not make much sense.

Converting bitcoin to fiat is unimportant. Goal is to stack as much you can and that's exactly what i'm doing. And if you really want, it will get easier over time. If you haven't heard, Croatia post offices are now converting coins to local fiat. It's a matter of time before it spreads to other parts of the world.

I guess the importance of converting Bitcoin to fiat depends upon the situation since we all know that not all stores accept Bitcoin especially in the local market.  If you have lots of extra money to spend for your daily lives then I will suggest to hodl your Bitcoin but if you don't have any extra money to pay for your bills and daily needs then it is a just to convert your BTC to fiat.

@Op, if you wanted to know when to sell your BTC then you alone can answer it for yourself.  If you are satisfied with the possible profit then you can sell it, if not then you have to wait for some time.  In short, have a target price when to sell your BTC and hold it tightly until then.

"The right moment" changes overtime, as historical evolution data absorbs your selling moment and then puts it into perspective further ahead. Assuming you are already in a winning position, selling now is likely fine from the ROI perspective, as you will probably have made some profit since the purchase. Nevertheless, a few months or years down the road, what seemed like a good sale at the time may result a mistake from an investment point of view. There is no way to foresee what BTC pricing may do, and especially when and during how long a reasonable "right moment" will crop up.

There’s a large psychological side to selling, as normally you’ll consider not just the selling price you settled for, but further more you’ll be performing hypothetical sales further ahead, simulating what the outcome would have been if you held back your initial sell decision a bit longer.
If you need to sell, and are making a win, then just do it and try to trim the future hypothetical fictional mental sales I mentioned. If not, holding for a while seems more exciting than selling at this point.

Having said that, BTC has gone down 500$ in just over the last hour …

This is a never ending question on bitcoin history. You know, withdrawing of bitcoin depends on its holder and this tips can help you decide.

1. Do your selling price are already above your investment capital?

2. Is selling it on that particular amount are reasonable and worth it?

3. Is it for emergency or urgent? Or you are just afraid to take risk?

Right when there are new barriers broken, such as a 13,000 or 15,00 you'll usually see it go a few hundred higher and then dip down, you want to catch this either right before the barrier if you're looking to take less risk and a few hundred after a barrier for maximum profits.

This is all just my personal experiences and could be entirely wrong, do your own research.

Decide at a certain price point and stick with it. Just make sure that your price target is reasonable and realistic enough in the timeframe you're looking at. If you really need the money though, depending on how urgently, it'd probably be a good idea to just sell it now regardless if you made profit or not.

How did you acquired your btc? did you bought it or someone just gave it to you? You can easily check the price on different exchanges and think if you are satisfied if you want to sell it right now.

But if you think that there's more to go and you are treating now bitcoin as a good long term asset, hold it and don't sell it for now. In the end of the day, you are the one that will decide whether to sell at any price you desire.
