Loose lips sink sigs!
Where you have to redeem it for 10 BTC?

There's a lot of information about this if you google "Casascius coins" or read a bit more about how Bitcoin works.

Here's one resource for you -> http://www.spotcoins.com/bitcoin/casascius

I'm not giving you, personally, flack for the price of this coin -- but damn, why is it worth such a high collector's premium?

You're literally paying 18$k for 6$k in BTC (which, who the fuck is going to unload that?) and 12$k for the coin itself. Kudos to you for selling now, before the rally. We'll see how well the coin holds its worth.

Maybe 10 years from now when 1 BTC = 1 BTC, it will still be worth 30 BTC!

Wild.

When you say "very rare"...?
How many non- gold plated silver 10 btc coins were made?
How many gold plated silver btc coins were made?

There are (I guess, source: http://casascius.uberbills.com/), a total of 441 ten BTC silver coins active. I guess that about 300 of them are these full silver ones. The thing that makes this non- gold plated coin more rare (thought there propably was more of these made than the gold plated ones,) that people don't sell these. By checking e-bay, I couldn't find a single one of this type of coin to be for sale. But I saw gold plateds...

I would be interested to see if anyone actually does know exact figures. I was under the impression it was roughly 50/50
It seems to me that if collectors are paying $20,000+ premiums for these coins that someone needs to ask Mike Caldwell just how many of each were made.

I think there are two different markets, both for the 10s and the 1s. I believe that in both cases, the all-silvers came first, and some collectors prefer an earlier funding date. Other collectors prefer the aesthetics of the gold plating and are less concerned with the funding date.

I'll agree, though, that you see gold-plated 1s and 10s for sale much more frequently. Seems like most people with all-silvers are sitting on them.

Thanks for the information.
So the gold-plated coins are fewer, but the silver coins are harder to buy...
I personally think the silver coins look better.

the silver one may be more rare, but the one with the gold b is more desirable. most people would choose the gold b version simply because it looks better.

I disagree.  I think the all silver one is more rare, more desirable, & better looking.  I own both and would part with my gold b version long before the all silver.  Wink

This is indeed the rarest Casascius round that you can buy in public. Check the strike numbers here: http://casascius.uberbills.com

That being said, there's only so much of a premium you can add to 1 Ag oz before it gets absurd.

*cough*

The rarest Casascius round that you can buy in public is a 2013 0.5 silver with a series 2 hologram; there are only 45.

That said, Anduck is correct in that you can't really find these coins for sale, so it's a seller's market. Time will tell whether the market feels his asking price is appropriate, but go ahead and try to find a better price on this coin, and let us know what you find Smiley

lol Smiley

not greedy at all. I rather not write down what's on my mind.

Please feel free to write what's on your mind. If it's inappropriate, it will get deleted by the mods anyway.
If you are meaning that the price is too much, please tell me where can I buy one of these for less?

You can buy these with the Gold B from a number of sellers for 25 BTC. So yes, very greedy.

Please point me to a seller selling this kind of coin (the coin without golden B is what I am selling) for less than 30 BTC. I am aware that there are some 10BTC silvers _with golden B_ in the market but that's got nothing to do with this coin I am selling.
