7btc for both 5btc and 1btc coins.

Escrow now an option providing the Escrow is UK based and a transaction can be completed in person with the Escrow.

Are you so stupid or what? Do you know how escrow works on this forum? (uk based escrow LOL) Tongue wtf??

The escrow does not have to be in the UK to be safe. We have some good escrow services here to chose from.

Considering I have already been contacted by a non-UK member willing to use a UK Escrow that they know and trust to meet me and complete the transaction on their behalf and then ship the coins - clearly you are the idiot.

Just be careful and make sure that escrow is well known to the community. If you want me to verify that he/she is legit you can msg me the escrows name.

Will do, thanks.

if you want a UK based Escrow I would recommend Zepher buddy

Ok, for a reasonably intelligent person I feel pretty dumb right now.

Firstly I get my main BTC stash stolen from an encrypted wallet.  Still to this day can’t figure out how it was done.  BTW, I’m a very security conscious individual having previously worked in the IT industry.

So then I mine more BTC and almost 2 BTC worth of altcoins.  Multiple wallets were becoming unmanageable and with the recent theft from my Armory wallet the smart move was to transfer it all to an exchange (Cryptsy) and just leave it to appreciate in value.  Yup, that was smart.

Then, on a public forum I offer Casascius coins for less than peel value.  In my defence I had no idea they held more than just BTC!

cptdome1, vizique - thank you.

I need to understand the escrow process in more detail as it sounds like a possible option.  Any offers to assist with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all that messaged me.  With respect I need to withdraw the 6.6btc offer.  As mentioned above I wasn’t aware of the additional BCH value these coins held.

I am willing to let them go for 6.6 BTC for a face to face transaction if that helps with transportation costs.

FYI you are better off just peeling them if you are going to sell for 6.6BTC

6BTC + 6 BCH (Currently ~0.136 BTC for 1 BCH) = 6.816 BTC

didnt bother with BTG, but you get the idea

I know very little about escrow but I get the impression it is far from completely safe.  I had most of my BTC stolen from an Armory wallet at the end of 2013.  Then had BTC and huge amounts of altcoins that I mined lost through Cryptsy.  I didn't find out until well after it has closed and 1 month after the lawsuit deadline  Cry

A few physical coins is all I have left and for my own sanity I cannot afford to lose them through a failure in the escrow process.

There's no need to lose thousands of pounds because of your uncertainty on who to trust. There are some well established and very trustworthy people that can help you and a network of people that can ensure any trade to the USA would be water tight.

Monkeynuts for sure can help as he has dealt in Casascius coins for many years. You would be safe with his services. And I know he has the same trusted network that would make sure your coins would receive a safe journey. I use many of these people myself as a coin dealer at PhysiBit.

So, dont rush to lose money, check a few people out, you could gain Smiley

That is an incredibly good deal for someone in the UK.

That would be under peel value!  Too bad I'm not in the UK Sad

I can't believe I actually looked up plane tickets to the UK for this  Cheesy

I agree that these are becoming such a large risk to ship. Even on the buyer side, with escrow, it makes me nervous.

Some good deals on plane tickets, but it's the time I don't think I could spare at the moment.

I have been offered 7btc from a USA buyer.  However, I am nervous about something going wrong along the way.  Therefore, I will consider a little less for a face-to-trace transaction.

So, what is the amount you are looking for these coins??

Just saying both the links for the Casascius coins that you put in the thread state that both of them have a combined value of 6BTC. How are you planning to sell them for 7BTC? Shocked I don't know much about physical coins but 1 Bitcoin for two coins seems a bit ripped off to me.   Roll Eyes
If you don't know the collectibles market, it's better not to reply at all. Casascius coins have always demanded a premium and will most likely continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Would a mod be able to move the thread to the collectables section?
andyandyuk, I've moved your thread to the appropriate section. Next time you should use the "Report to moderator"-button, since that creates a report which is actually seen by the staff. Wink

Much appreciated.

Thank you.  I was thinking the same.  I have already been offered 7 btc for both within minutes of me putting them up for sale.  However, they cost me 7.2 btc when I purchased them new from a Casascius reseller.  They are also in excellent condition.

Would a mod be able to move the thread to the collectables section?

Thanks

7 BTC for the 2 is actually a steal. I think OP would up the price once he reads this.
Both coins also contain BCH (5 BCH + 1BCH) for a combined value of $7158 which is about 0.867BTC alone above face value.
Cas coins also demand a premium for their collectible aspect and rarity. In this case I think OP has undervalued his coins.
@OP, move your thread to the collectibles section and someone will snatch these up immediately. I’d also advise charging slightly higher premiums as these coins are undervalued at that price.
Good luck! Smiley

I have 1 x 5BTC and 1 x 1BTC 2012 loaded Casascius coins  originally purchased from official reseller David Bailey at www.hardbtc.org  4.5 years ago.  I also have the original receipt from David.  I haven’t had them graded but they are in great, unhandled condition.
