@buckrogers. Your math is not completely correct, because you have to consider that some metal parts will be lost during the melting process
If you want a silver bar, then is more convenient for you to buy a pure silver bar directly. Silver pieces for melting are only broken pieces, not handworked/low quality pieces or lose cutlery.

So how much metal is lost? would there be LESS silver in the end?

and why do you say "Silver pieces for melting are only broken pieces" that is not true, what is your source for saying that?

thanks!

Is this an item you have on hand and if so can you provide a picture with the item and your username/date?

Thanks!

Is this an item you have on hand: yes
Can you provide a picture with the item and your username/date? I am not sure about the question. Do you want a proof that I am the owner of the piece?

Yes as simple as that, you linked to an offsite auction which sometimes means the OP doesn't own the item.

Hi,

I sow the most of you are speculative buyer. I admit that the best investments are gold or silver bars, coins, diamonds or even stocks.
However I would like to show you something different:
https://bitify.com/auctions/silver/silver-platter-marked-sterling-800-monogrammed-636736/

Let me know what you thing about. Cool

.800  (80% silver or 800/1000)

Silver spot price is : ~ $18.61 per oz currently

.800 silver or 80% silver is ~ $14.888 per oz

Your item:

Composition: massive 800 Sterling Silver
Weight: ca. 644 grams / 21.77 oz
Size: ca. 35 cm / 13,78 inch

So assuming this plate is really a solid piece of .800 or 80% silver,

The spot price of it would be:

21.77 oz  x $14.888 per oz  = $324.11176 (give or take)

Is my math correct?

Thanks!
