amazon can remove the balance anytime within months while escrow won't hold fund for that much time
What if i use them instantly and release escrow then
If you have orders with GC balance and the GC balance is fraudulent then they will charge your credit card.
You cannot (As far as I know) order using a GC balance unless you also have a CC linked to your Amazon account.

I was scammed just like that. Codes were removed 2 months after purchase. So escrow won't help. Only if you redeem on alternative account, then order items and pay after items are delivered.
