The account is not "legit" if you are fraudulently applying to Amazon because you have found a source of .edu email accounts. The .edu domain extension is used by Amazon to verify you are in the education sector, but you have to be a student to have full rights to use the promotion. Anybody buying these will probably lose access to the account long term.
You can't convert Amazon Seller funds to Amazon balance though so you must mean your Amazon account or trade in value balance.
