Running a full node is still possible even with a sucky internet. It just sends out blocks to people who need it. Much easier then downloading the whole Blockchain from multiple sources at once.

Last time I checked to be a full node you had to have the ability to verify transactions/blocks and to do that you needed a copy of the whole blockchain (minus some if it was purged). I really doubt that at the moment you can act as a full node without having a copy of the blockchain and be running the Core client.
I know it does other stuff, just to lazy to type it out. And I know that a full node requires the whole blockchain, that is why I endorse this project. People with a sucky internet can still be a full node, just downloading the whole blockchain would take forever.

Or you could just use a client that doesn't need you to download the whole blockchain? Honestly, if it's such a pain (ie if you have slow internet) you're really better off unless you're committed to being a full node. Just out of curiosity is international shipping included in that price?

This is nice, Alternate clients are good but they don't provide blockchain data, so If someone is working on bitcoin related project that requires blockchain data and but they have shitty net, dvd thingy is best for them. (Pendrive/Micro SD card is more better actually)

You can make multiple copies and sell them to your friends or give them as gift.  Cheesy

Ps: Goodluck

I think it is a good idea to buy the blockchain on DVD because it takes weeks to download the blockchain on a slow computer. It is better if you can offer monthly update DVDs at a minimal fee too.

Well, I think that t's a great idea. Not everybody has a great internet connection, so this would be great for those people. I am guessing that the $44 also includes shipment. If not, well, then it's a steep price.

But what good is a full node if you inetconn sucks? That is a mystery to me. Then use electrum/multibit...

Yes International shipping is included.  If your internet connection sucks like mine, you can download the blockchain over  weeks or months and then offer to help others who don't want to go through the same trouble; or you can ask me to save you the trouble.

Because torrenting still takes time. It might come in handy if you want to run a full node.

but shipping takes time too Wink

So instead of ordering, just start torrenting, if you want to run a full node, then you have a good connection, so after 2hours you have the file. Also the torrent is pretty uptodate all the time.

Neat Idea, but why not just torrent it? Or using a lightweight client?

Also 44$ is very steep price Wink

Maybe I am just stupid but why would this be useful to folks?

So they can just open the wallet via the dvd and only need to sync for a small amount of time instead of 4 year 15gb space?

Tired of waiting for the block chain.  I will send you the block-chain on 3 double layer-DVDs.  The price I'll do this for is 0.1 BTC.  You can bribe someone to buy it for you.  I am sending from Argentina.
