You can really sell your bitcoins in my opinion since you are the one who set your selling price at that site but I doubt that no one will buy the coin he/she is selling in the picture, unless the one who will buy it is someone who have zero knowledge at crypto-currency and even bitcoin at all. It will be hard to sell it at that price right now since everyone can just buy it at a normal price on some dealers.

I stand with Ukraine.
I see no point selling bitcoins at an exorbitant price and waiting endlessly for some unlucky guy to catch the bait (if there is actually a bait). Why not sell 5% above market price, make a small profit and move on?

Exactly. You can set the price as high as you want but who would buy at that price? Nobody. I like fishing so I know exactly what the bait means. That's not a bait. If no one will ever eat it, that's not a bait.

In india when demonetization hit the country very hard the  price of bitcoins was reaching 67000 rs whereas globally the price of bitcoins was 52000 . And now its the same , buying and selling price is the same.

Why would you buy that? That's ridiculously high, there's a lot of websites out there that sells Bitcoin at a normal price. It would even be better if you just buy from another user, meetup with him or simply contact him. That's not a huge opportunity at all because no one would buy at that price. You could even sell your coins for a higher price than that but you'll be just wasting your time and effort.

I asked how the coins were delivered and the seller said that a voucher for the coins on the exchange was sent.  That way the buyer didn't get hung up on the fact that the coins could not be delivered to a BTC address.  One million of these useless coins went off at $900.
I think no matter how your coins would be delivered, it should be not double the current price of it. Even if the coins are delivered with a box full of decorations, the amount of Bitcoin that you'll have would still be the same. I guess the seller is just sugar coating his deal by making use the guarantee part of using a voucher on their exchange site.

Nevertheless, I advise that you look for another seller of Bitcoin. I think you can buy Bitcoins at a fair price in almost every Bitcoin wallet out there except for crazy ones like the one you found.

did you buy bitcoin from that seller? if you are not yet buying bitcoin from that seller, then i am suggested you to find other seller that have normal rate for buying bitcoin, and i think that too high for the rate.
that rate is really big! I think you are right he should find another seller because it cost him a lot if he will buy that and the rate is really high .you should find another seller you can get a discount from it and you can save a lot Cheesy

It is possible to list bitcoins for sale with more than double the price, but

i don`t think that you can get buyers.

The higher the risk ,the higher the profit margin calculated in the market price.

In the past , you can sold your bitcoin double on the short-term . But for now , you must wait at least a year I think for double your rates.
Bitcoin's price is stable right now , maybe it takes longer time to getting profit from trading bitcoin.

you can sell your bitcoin at any price that you like there is nothing stopping you.

in fact you can sell 1 bitcoin for $2000000 but that would only be offering the sale and as long as nobody buys it from you it stays an open order (or in other words it is called an ask price) but nobody will ever buy it at that price.

I'm very agree with you. Selling your bitcoin at any price is your rights. The problem is, if you sell your bitcoin more than double of the price anyone will not buy it. Because it's overpriced.

actually you can buy bitcoin with any amount of money then you'll receive equivalent to it,buying bitcoin doesn't mean buying a whole of bitcoin or lets say 1 bitcoin or more,it's the reason that make bitcoin is flexible and if you're buying bitcoin with money and having bitcoin with equivalent value to the price when you buying it,can't say its expensive because actually your buying money with money

You can find such offers in any exchange or website where people are bedding to sell their coins, maybe they are not willing to sell but just joking or maybe they think there will be some foolish people who will buy it with that rate, but it is nothing new, you should simply ignore that and find some other place for buying, use Localbitcoins.com which is the best i guess.

there is a big difference between the orders you have in mind and the orders that OP saw on that particular site.

what you have in mind is the orders that are on popular exchanges and they mostly are to keep the funds on orderbooks and create some resistance sometimes in one direction or the other and you usually don't see big orders with big difference than market price.
for example on $590 there may be big volumes but on $450 there may be only a couple of orders from people who opened those positions and went away for awhile not watching the market.

what op sees is a not famous site that nobody ever visits so the only order is what he sees for example you can go there and open a sell order of $800 but who is there to buy it from you Cheesy
and even if they buy they will buy 0.00001BTC max!

as long as there are other places to buy bitcoin with the market price from an exchange or if you want other not so popular ways like from localbitcoins with cash, paypal,... it would be only ~10%-20% above price ($720 on localbitcoins right now) nobody will choose a super high price unless they are unaware of other places and too lazy to use google Cheesy
Yes, I agree. I think most bitcoin users now are well aware and are finding a good site to buy bitcoin at a good price. A little bit high or low price compared to the market price is okay but super high or low prices are a bit fishy. Well, most common scam is those too good to be true offers of really cheap price.

@OP you're right, the site seems to offer bitcoin at that price on purpose. Maybe just in case some people will buy from them, but don't sell at that price too (as you're thinking) because it's too high and I think it won't really work.

it is not necessarily scam or fishy.
when there is such a spread you can always check the volume or history or whatever feature these sites offer to see that those orders and no other order in the past were filled.

it is simply because these places are dead and nobody goes there to trade so you can place the only order at a very high price and there is no competition to out bid you.

Just like in trading, some people puts an offer which is much much higher than the present price. Those people are actually just going to wait for a long time. They just leave the offer like that "just in case" the price of Bitcoin really gets doubled. However, there would be some actual people who would be dumb enough to buy at that price or maybe mistakenly buy that. Sorry to burst your bubble but you're going to wait for years before somebody actually buys at that price.

eBay was also famous for people selling worthless coins.  The best I saw was someone selling some altcoin that was literally named Bitcoins or similar.

it's not possible anymroe, there because they ban your account and remove the transaction, they are against bitcoin or any other crypto, better luck is to sell in some unknown forum for a greater price than the market or on localbitcoin, i saw someone selling for 2x the value

Dude you can even sell your Bitcoins for $5000 a pop if there is anyone crazy enough to buy them. That's why it's called a free market because everyone is free to offer whatever goods they want for whatever prices they see fit. It's a whole other story if anyone would actually get tempted by these prices but I think it's nearly impossible. There are some crazy prices on Ebay too but do people bid on them? I doubt so.

5k is a little bit too optimistic.  But selling your bitcoin for at least the double of the price is certainly a possibility. The only thing needed to achieve this goal is to hold your coins for a later moment. The price was at 1200, i am positive we can achieve this mark again within max. 3 years.

When you buy with this kinda convenience it's implicit that you gonna have to pay more, because when a seller offers installments it costs a lot (~16% in some countries) or more, taking out the chargeback, etc. But look, if you're paying more than 30%, even I could sell coins to you. Take a look in localbitcoins (by paypal) or some ebAy paper wallet.

This is not the only "rare" phenomena but this is normal and very very possible, and it's not only in bitcoin but we can see also on exchanges and when you see the graph of buy and sell order you can see that people sell more than x2 and it's completely normal.

this is what everyone should do to encourage a higher price i think, because if all the bitcoin holder start to do this, buyers are forced at the end to buy at higher price, maybe not like in your example lol, but let's say $1000

The other day I was on Paxful and saw several users buying Bitcoins at an enormous price.  For those that don't know, on Paxful you trade Bitcoins back and forth for various account deposits.

I plugged in $10 and they would have deposited $150-300 in a Square Pay account.  Paxful covers the initial transaction, they do not get the Bitcoins until you tell Paxful that you got the Square Pay deposit, but I am sure that the funds would have been disputed hours later.  If I had an instant Square Pay to bank option, I might have done it, lol.

Other than that, I have seen Bitcoins go for crazy amounts on eBay.  I have looked in some time, but when the price for BTC was $250 I saw people paying $350-400 for a single Bitcoin on eBay.

Those guys were new and had no idea what price was good, but it happened over and over.

Well anyone has the right to sell his bitcoins with his own price but double the price is just too much. I don't even think someone will buy from him because there are also other sites out there who were willing to sell bitcoin and not that much high. If he can sell then lucky for him but there are other sites out there offering lower amount and even some for the current market price.

Well there are some scenarios in which people would be willing to bite on such and then do some trading.  I've seen those market listings before and it seems that it's there for a reason and because some people really takes those prices. However on a layman's perspective, it might sound and seem absurd (for once I thought it was, only to know that it was a tactic lel) but the thing is there would always be one that would take it because he can or by mistake.

Lets take an  example, you deposit Bitcoins, contact a seller and they send money to your Serve account or other kinds of accounts.  The site itself does the escrow.  Most exchanges you will lose Bitcoins doing the exchange.  For $10 in Bitcoins, you might get $8 in Walmart gift cards.  These sellers were all new, all using Square Pay as payments and promising something like 350%.

Yes it could be possible if you can find enough intrested buyers with mastercard and also you have to find a place where you can get bitcoin in market rate. But you may get competition in line who can sell in cheaper price than you, chargeback issues with creditcard payment may cause problem to you in future.

It depends upon the situation. It is still good to sell your bitcoin
To a higher marketprice now if someone will buy it. Bitcoin price is stable right now and the chance to inflate its price is on approx. end year season. So basically there still have long time to start holding bitcoins. Just saying

So the guy is selling it for double the value, ok, but the question becomes is anyone even going to bother buying it at that value? I highly doubt that unless something changes visibly the market you're going to have is basically next to nothing, and there will be next to no money actually made by you.

Also do you have a hard time with markets? I can sell a Bitcoin for a million dollars right now and it doesn't mean anyone will buy it. There is no limit to what you can advertise you're selling it at, all that matters is who is willing to buy it. And based on that image, no-one is buying it.

Who would buy at that price, $1200+ is almost the double price of the today's bitcoin's price.

I wouldn't worry more about this because people have the freedom to sell their bitcoin as much as they want but who will buy at this exchange rate?

that offer is possible and you can do too. but if you want to get profit, then you should sell bitcoin in 10%-15% from the market exchange ot before you selling your bitcoins, maybe you can make research to other seller and you know how much average selling price in that localbitcoin so you can make your own price between on the offer and you can get profit for that.

@OP you're right, the site seems to offer bitcoin at that price on purpose. Maybe just in case some people will buy from them, but don't sell at that price too (as you're thinking) because it's too high and I think it won't really work.

as long as there are other places to buy bitcoin with the market price from an exchange or if you want other not so popular ways like from localbitcoins with cash, paypal,... it would be only ~10%-20% above price ($720 on localbitcoins right now) nobody will choose a super high price unless they are unaware of other places and too lazy to use google Cheesy

Okey guys, so I wanted to buy some bitcoins (0.01 to be precise XD) with my MasterCard and I ended up in a weird place!

Look at the price per Bitcoin :

So this Is a huge opportunity for income right? can I do this too? How IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE? :O

Can you do this (offer to sell bitcoins at obscene rates) too? - Yes.
Will you find buyers at this rate? - No
So this is not a huge opportunity.

Yes it is a huge opportunity if that site really pays. Before we deposit our bitcoins on that site we must check and review that site. it could be just a scheme to get more bitcoin and in the end run away while  you re being left behind without being paid. So its better to check things out before doing any transactions with that site. The buying rate on that site is very fishy so its my suggestion to double check and look on the scam sites list. Its better to be safe than to lose our bitcoins.

Just because somebody is offering to sell bitcoins at that price, it doesn't mean anyone is willing to buy them at that price. Would you?

I wouldn't OF COURSE! but I think that I would be selling at that price too Tongue

I usually buy bitcoins to my friends as they will offer me lower than the market price since some of them badly needed the money.  So you may want to join a group and luckily you could find bitcoin for sale with low price than the original.  As what on the table that you post, yeah it is normal that people will sell their btc at higher price than its market value.  We know thst bitcoin is a really good investment and trust worthy that is why they sell it for more than its value.

You have searched in paxful try localbitcoins to search any offer for mastercard, but actually if you are from coinbase supported countries than you can directly buy with them at market rate. Check their supported countries and cards.
