Don't those tokens display all info about an account (including ID# and username)? Seems like a very easy way to have a DT member come and tag your account as being offered for sale.

No only if they do it with the merchant token and it is done properly.
You have to know what you are doing to use it's valuable resource to display the right information to the public without exposing the account's personal information.

you can hide the UID and username by click the merchant type so it will display just about all info without the UID and username

I would be very careful buying at any price. No signed message = free money for the account seller. There is no proof that he owns the account, and no proof you can provide admins if he tries to recover the account from you by claiming it was hacked. Granted -- there is no guarantee that he could recover the accounts (only Theymos can see to that). But it seems like an unnecessary risk.
