I will turn over all my miners I have on site here (1ghs) for half of what this guy wants. Even will go down to 2 week increments.

So

1ghsx3 Months = $500
1ghsx2 Months = $333
1ghsx1 Month  = $166
1ghsx0.5 Month= $83

Btc perfered and accepted. Most hashing power can be accomodated.

I think that the mining contract notion is brilliant, but either it's not worth while, or this calculator is wrong.

You sell a 200Mhash/s contract for 3 months, at $270.

If I put those numbers into http://bitcoinx.com/profit/index.php with no power costs (as that's what you'd be paying), at 15BTC to USD, I'd be in the hole $107.05.

It could be that mining simply isn't profitable or viable these days, but you'd really have to run around 350Mhash/s for it to be viable, according to that calculator. At your gigahash rates, I see losses of $535 after three months.

I doubt those numbers are precise, and I don't understand the mathematics behind hashing nor the forces involved. Does seem like it's not the best deal to partake in, however. Feel free to debate my calculated numbers, but I think the community could use some solid evidence of what profit numbers they'd be likely to receive running your service.

You ask $1350 for 3 months at 1 GHash/sec, that with current difficulty gives 0.54 BTC/day = 48.6 BTC for 90 days. With current price 13.6 BTC/USD revenue will be $660.

Expected LOSS = $690!

To Add on

The price of bitcoins would have to be 30$ per BTC just to make a few dollars for the buyer of the contract.

Looking at the 1gh/sec offering. You offer the service for 3 months which equates about 750 dollar income. This calculation of income doesn't consider difficulty increase every 2 weeks or so. Now looking at that alone how do you expect the leaser to make anything? While your charging 1350? Unless there's more to this and that I'm missing something here.

You aren't missing anything.  For that price you could build your own machine that's capable of getting more mh/sec.  Not that I'd ever buy a mining contract, but at 1gh/sec for 3 months I couldn't see anyone paying over $500.  Maybe I'm missing something.   Roll Eyes

Exactly.

If you lower your price down by atleast 60% then your offering would make economically viable.

^ That.

What do you consider to be a fair price for the contracts?  I priced them cheaper than most others I could find.  I am willing to reconsider the prices, but keep in mind that I need to profit a little from the contracts to make it even worth it.

Just lowered my prices on rigs and contracts and doubled the MHash/sec rate on them to make the machines worth it now that difficulty is higher.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Happy to workout discounts if you order more than one.  Glad to accept bitcoin as well.
