I would use bit-pay but I think I might whore the bitcoin for a while and make some extra cash when it goes up  Cool

We'll probably try to go the bitcoin-only route and if it doesn't work out I'll suck it up and do paypal too.

Cool idea, but as Exo said having the ability to pay with either seems like a solid plan.

We were hoping we could cash the bitcoins in to pay for the shirts, i guess we're kinda doing it to get around the legal junk of selling stuff.

while I do find bitcoin interesting and I do like it... isn't the goal of selling shirts to make money?
If so you should setup their site to take COLD HARD CASH... adding the ability to buy with bitcoin in later.

Oh yea good call... I kinda forgot about that lol

The problem is, I think bitcoin will scare away most of the buyers, I was thinking I could have a button that says "Buy Bitcoins!" that links to least sketchy bitcoin exchange (probably tradehill) but they might not want to sign up, oh well  Roll Eyes

It looks like the buyers pay with bitcoin, is there a solution like that where the buyer can use paypal or something then send it to me (as bitcoin)?

Who would take the chargeback risk in that case? Paypal can be reversed.

Yea I'm a web designer, but I do a lot of programming in general. I'm using google app engine for the hosting so the backend is with python. I've been lurking on this forum for a bit and it looks like there are a lot of scams and I want this web store to keep a good rep, so I guess I'm asking what the best practices for setting this up are, how should the transaction work?

Are you a web designer? What skill are you bringing to the table?

I read a posts just earlier about someone asking for a way to get their store accepting bitcoins... I guess you need to get your store designed first though.

Several friends of mine own a web comic and asked me to design a site for them. One thing they asked me to do was to build a shop where they could sell shirts, they asked me to use a site like zazzle but I convinced them to let me make one using bitcoin.

So now I'm building the web store to sell shirts for bitcoins, but I'm not quite sure how it should work or how I should do it. Does anyone have any idea how to do this without making it look too sketchy?
