Alex Jones is not a trustable news source at all. He tries to seek as much attention as possible to earn money. It is similar to fearmongering politicians. More fear they can spread, more popular they can get. I would not see Alex Jones as a credible source for news, especially about BTC.
Alex Jones is a two-edged sword (maybe more like a broken clock being right twice a day?) to be fair. He sounds batshit crazy most of the time but there are some points where he is right about some conspiracy theory that he was talking about, even if in a more abstract way. But I have never heard him talk accurately about Bitcoin (or supposed events happening around Bitcoin) in the time I have heard snippets of what he's said, from other people.

After watching 2 minutes I can assure you this is some sort of joke or if it's not a joke it's a bunch of random hillbilly Americans that somehow found a camera and learned to work it. My god that's some unprofessional reporting.
What at all does the senators know about bitcoins, they are just afraid and that's the whole issue, this must be some fake reportage by CNN.

This is an idea proposed by 4 senators. There are 100 of them in the Senate, so it doesn't really mean anything at the moment.
Bills are proposed every day and most of them are discarded after first hearing. Let's wait until it gets serious and discuss then.
