This is the way Bitcoin works...actually there are no "accounts" in Bitcoin, only transactions.

When you send someone money you take a transaction output, or several, you control (from previous transactions) and make it the input of a new transaction. You have to use all of the previous transaction output. As the transaction output becoming the new input is often larger than the amount you want to send, the rest will be sent back to your addresss!

If you want the nitty-gritty details: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transactions

Hi all,
there's a behaviour in my client I don't understand.

When I make an outgoing transaction I see two output addresses: one of them is the address I'm sending BTC to, the other is mine.

Example: http://blockchain.info/tx-index/b56a12d0f48a5e2ad7d62fc447f56dfbe2e541a26e41426f06d00b60ca112a2d (1Q5g6maD5f5bjJeZ1kiY7pEeKsxmZeW9FW is my address)

Why this?
