The transaction was already confirmed and I got a lot of confirmations but of course it didn't show up in my Gate.io account. The address that appears in the transaction is not my exchange BEP20 address (I guess because the format is wrong), this is the transaction link:

https://bscscan.com/tx/0x479bef0a9bdb0df07212c2dbb8b8010e50ab9ecebfad67afbf84d8696d0bed12

I contacted the exchange's support team but they haven't answered my message yet, I hope they can fix the problem and if so I will post an update here.
Thank you
Unfortunately that's all you can do at this point. sometimes people always warn to really check their address before they actually ship their assets. there have been so many incidents like this. this can be a lesson for future asset delivery.
I can only hope that the support team from the exchange will immediately respond to you and provide you with the solution you want.

Which exchange did you contact with support? If you have contacted Binance support, they will no longer solve your problem, since your transfer has already been confirmed by the network. You need to contact support Gate.io , since your coins are on the wallet of this exchange.

how is your transaction status in withdrawal? did you get the correct transaction link? sending bsc to the bnb address seems to still go to the BNB wallet at gate io . best way contact their customer support and explain what happened . hopefully they solve your problem .

BSC/BEP20 token sent by mistake to BEP2/BNB

Hello friends,
I made a stupid speed mistake as I wanted to send some BNB from BSC wallet to Gate.io but unfortunately I chose BEP2 deposit instead of BSC/BEP20, I didn't realize my mistake until it was too late and my money was lost.
Usually I pay close attention to these things and double check the address before sending, but this time I did it quickly and didn't pay attention.
Is there a way to get it back or should I forget it?

I don't know much about this. But I could remember couple of days back I made similar mistake while transacting from my TW to Binance. I contacted the support team and got my BNB reversed to my TW after 48hours or so.

As said earlier, I don't know if I'm lucky because TW and Binance are of the same parent organization. That's just my own experience.

The error is my fault in the first place but the Binance smart wallet should be developed so that it gives an error signal if a wrong address is provided.
I agreed somehow its on the eyes of the user cause the format is really different. Maybe you are too sleepy when you are doing the transactions. Im not saying its binance fault but of course your suggestion to have them a feature that warn users regarding this could be useful. Not sure if they don't have never tried to have a mistake about sending funds, cause users must be careful about this.

Are you sure you totally missed that out. Cause bep2 start with bep- etc and the bep20 is like an erc20 wallet format. Exchange usually prompt the format if its wrong, example you pick bep2, you will always remember to send the correct format so if you mistakenly send that to bep2 the exchange will definitely won't count it or pursue the transaction.

Unfortunately, this is what actually happened as a result of rushing. I know that there is a big difference between the BEP2 and BEP20 address. They are completely different and they are not the same at all, but I copied and pasted the address without looking at it. Some wallets give an error signal if an address with a wrong format is placed, but the Binance smart wallet does not give this Error Unfortunately, it was sent directly without any indication of error and I did not notice until it was too late.

BEP2/BNB token sent by mistake to BSC/BEP20

Hello friends,
I made a stupid speed mistake as I wanted to send some BNB from BSC wallet to Gat.io but unfortunately I chose BEP2 deposit instead of BSC/BEP20, I didn't realize my mistake until it was too late and my money was lost.
Usually I pay close attention to these things and double check the address before sending, but this time I did it quickly and didn't pay attention.

I am so sorry about this. I think you know that if you send tokens to platforms or blockchains that are not supported them or confuse standard, your tokens will be lost on the address where you send them. Actually, Gat.io is a centralised exchange, so you can try to connect with support, but I am afraid that you have to forget about them.
