I am using Electrum wallet. I have bought these bitcoins several years ago. They were laying there. So If I want to claim the bitcoin cash is there any noob friendly way to do that without messing with my coins and put them at risk?

If you don't know what you're doing then both sets of coins could be at risk. I would suggest you do your own research before attempting anything because you really don't want to screw up so be careful when exposing your private keys.

I'll just post this that I posted in another thread earlier:

I believe you can only claim bitcoin gold by getting your bitcoin private key and importing it into a bitcoin gold wallet, but be careful. If you have malware once your private key is exposed it can instantly steal your coins, but if your computer is safe be careful about what bitcoin gold wallet you download as if it's a dodgy one it can steal your gold and your bitcoin. I would make sure you've got a legit wallet first and then just test it out with a small amount to start with. If it goes ok then you're probably safe but please make sure you know what you're doing as you can easily lose both sets of coins so just ask yourself is it all worth it.

These also might be of help
