I would stick with digitalocean. They are cheap and servers can be up/downgraded as you wish. Cheapest server comes with 20gb ssd, 1vCPU, 512mb for 5$.
2CPU and 2GB ram for 20$.
The best thing is that you pay the server on an hourly rate and not for a full month. If you need more you simply "clone" one of your droplets and create a new one.

Hi, i am thinking on creating an altcoin for fun, it needs one or two Ubuntu-based dedicated servers (at least 2Gb of RAM) for seed nodes. What should be the best place to host these?
Also, should i choose my hosts extremely carefully due to the fact that these will generate seeds for my coin, or does that not matter?
If that's the case i guess i should stick with Amazon AWS.
