Hey everyone, I am right now working on a new version of the
BlockMit Jig, but rebuilt the design from scratch to fit larger washers.

In my experience, the larger ones are thicker (more durable) so I opted for 30mm large stainless steel disks that have a 10.5mm inner diameter.
My file is fully parametric though, so I can quickly change the model to your own choice of washer!

In case you're confused what this is: the idea of the jig is to help create offline metal backups using off-the-shelf, cheap items. A whole seed backup will cost less than 5 bucks in material, if you already have the stamps.

I would match their price, but in €, so 10€ for 2 pieces, I think.

I have a prototype but am still working to perfect it & will post pictures of the print and of the stamping results when I'm done Cheesy

PS: I haven't had the time to contact BlockMit yet, but it's released under CC license so it should be good Grin
If you like the original idea (since it's not mine), you can tip them here: https://tippin.me/@blockmit_com

Here's a preview on how it will look like. The printed version now fits well (inner and outer parts) but I am working on the friction fit for the stamping bit holder. It's tricky and takes a few tries to make it fit in the hole but still not wobbly so that it holds the bit well when stamping.

As you are able to 3D printing you may get a good earning from here. But to get good clients you should provide details of your work, skill, experience and also portfolio. If you do so, you can get good view and hopefully think you would be able to get good numbers of projects.
Hey shasan, thanks for the advice, but I'm not looking to 'get a good earning'. Just having fun working on 3D printers and having them run once in a while + want to support the Bitcoin community by printing them Bitcoin related items at low cost. Raspberry Pi node enclosures and the like.
I will make sure to get some pictures up once I get around to doing that, of course. But I won't disclose my identity ('portfolio etc.') to sell more stuff Wink

One of my hobbies is 3D printing with various FDM printers.
On the side, sometimes I have the capacity to print stuff for affordable prices and take payments in Bitcoin.
Lightning accepted!

Also do note that depending on license I might not be allowed to print some of the files ('non-commercial' licenses etc.)
I totally forgot about that part [my bad]... Looks like I have to learn how to design those myself, so I did some digging and found "Tinkercad [I didn't find anything against commercial usage, so it should be fine]".
Tinkercad is great, esp. when beginning, and since it'll be your own design, I'm absolutely allowed to print it for you!

- I did a test (screenshot [I'm just a beginner]) and it appeared to be a lot easier than I thought it would be [I'll be messing around for now, but I'll contact you next week for a quote].
Cool, have fun with Tinkercad! Looks like a keychain?

BTW, whenever you decide to upload those pictures, kindly follow the format from "this [e.g. your name and the date on a piece of paper]" thread Smiley
Sure, will do! I've got to say that most of my printed stuff I don't have with me right now, so it'll take a week or to till I get around to taking those pics, unfortunately. Maybe I can find pictures on my phone but then those don't have name + time.  Undecided

I made myself a Excel chart where I plug in the time & material weight + pre- (digital, if needed) and post-processing (physical, if needed) times & it spits out something. Then I round it up for my 3D printer piggybank Wink
I'm impressed Wink

Prices depend really a lot on the model itself, that's why I can't give fixed numbers. It's not just size or weight, also geometry and potential work I might need to do on the files to make them print well for example.
All of those are valid points, but how about having an hourly rate [just for the printing part], apart from the expenses in regards to the filament types and everything else that you mentioned?

So I'm not sure what the hourly rate for printing is right now, it's mostly just the electricity cost per hour * time * 0,15kW since the printer pulls on average 150W if I remember correctly.

potential work I might need to do on the files to make them print well for example.
Assuming that the STL files came from "Thingiverse", does it still require some sort of adjustment from your end?
Usually they are fine, but Thingiverse files can have issues as well. It's all community content, after all. I'd let you know before charging you anything though! Smiley Also do note that depending on license I might not be allowed to print some of the files ('non-commercial' licenses etc.)

For Bitcoin related items, I also charge less than for other items,
That's interesting Smiley Is there a percentage?

As I said, it's just something I do in my spare time so I don't need to make a lot of money off it. Just for material and electricity mostly.
I believe there's no post-processing, am I right?
When it's for Bitcoin stuff and paid in Bitcoin, I mostly just charge material and a little for machine wear & tear so I can continue to do this without subsidizing with own money. Post-processing is something I can do sure, but if it's too much I can't sit there for hours finishing up something for free Grin

If you are offering service like this better post some image examples of 3d printed stuff you made, Bitcoin related stuff would be great, and maybe add prices with contact details.
Thanks for the advice! I'll post pictures soon, sure Smiley FWIW, my main printer is a Prusa MK3 which delivers very great results and the other one I built myself from scratch and is more of a backup, since it's mostly noisier and slower.
