I run 2 FPGAs and 2 GPUs. So I have pointed my free loading CPU cores towards this task and as the difficulty rises, my high $ per kWhr costs, is placing my GPUs at the tiping point of economoicsally viable so they will soon join the search too.
Let me get this straight:
When difficulty rises and your GPUs start operating at a loss for a good cause (which is secure and free money) you will no longer support this good cause,
but instead support another good cause which makes an even bigger loss (due to the same high $ per kWhr costs, but without anything in return at all)?
So, instead of paying let's say $20 a month to get $10 worth of bitcoins back, you decide to pay $20 a month and get nothing back?

Is it just me, or does that seem weird?

All miners

Please give consideration to redirecting your non-mining processors (i.e. CPUs) to furthering humanity. I have created a  SETI group called "Bitcoin miners" for a pooled contribution in the search for intelligent life outside of our solar system - some might argue we need to find intelligent life on earth first  Grin .

Shortly I will also be forming a FOLD@home group which is searchnig for cellular level solutions to combat diseases such as cancer and AIDS.
