I figured it out. Essentially all these PSUs which *claim* to be able to put out 504w on the 12v rail are not even capable of putting out 300w, wow.

Returned them all and picked up some higher quality ones.
Also they lose power in time! gradually lose.

Download GPUz, run it prior to starting the mining, see if the VRM temps are listed (you'll see GPU1, GPU2, GPU3 for example on a single GPU card).  If they are check the temps.

I've had cards that had the VRMs go bad and the VRMs idle in the 70C range while the GPU is only 35C and when you start mining they shoot up to 100C+ and of course crash.

By mining with Intensity 11 you're basically throttling the card which should keep temps low enough to avoid crashes.

Does the shut down happen instantly as soon as you start the miner?

So, I'm completely at a loss here. I have 18 GPUs mining away here with no problems at all, except this damn special one.

I set him at intensity of "11" and all is well, except a garbage mining rate of like 110khs on a 7950.

I set him at intensity of "12" and BAM, the card shuts down, the PSU powers off, and must be unplugged before it will power on again. I've never seen anything like it.

This is a 650w PSU with 512w on the 12v rail, I have tried FIVE different power supplies and TWO different motherboards, and yet this problem persists. Has anyone heard of this?

For reference, I *am* doing scrypt mining, however, this issues happens just the same if I switch to bitcoin mining, therefore what I am mining/profitability is irrelevant.
