I guess it will be tough, rather spend your time on the bitcoin pools, I guess you will earn more.

230gh/s

Throwing 230Ghs at a bitcoin client may not work so well.

I have heard of others having to setup pool software so that they could solo mine with one 60Ghs Avalon because the Bitcoin-qt couldn't handle that hashrate.

230gh/s plus some more whwn cooler Smiley bren on gild for a week tomorrow and it sayd in my stats I found 2 blocks.... so thought I would try for a week or so while I still stand a chancr

Thanks for the quick reply, I'd only just found the answer in your post history (hence my edit above). Reminder to self: always check posters history before firing off a quick reply  Undecided

But yes, I am interested in whether you need any specific configuration to reduce the orphan rate. Anyone know?

producing around 230GH/s just now on btcguild

I'd be interested in how many of your found blocks are orphaned as I understand that solo mining requires careful configuration of your peers to maximise your network connectivity.

SO i was thinking about giving htis a go for a week or 2 but what i have read online is limited and scattered...... can anyone point me in the direction of a easy to follow guide on setting up solo mining with bitcoin client and bfgminer

thanks in advance

Bitcoin-qt.exe -rpcuser=userid -rpcpassword=password -server

Point your mining software to your localhost address (127.0.0.1:8332) with the userid and password you selected in the bitcoin-qt command line.

Done.

Good Luck,
Sam
