Btw, if a new sgminer version would come out, it would be presented in the official sgminer thread, and would also be available as source on github.

So you would be a dumbass to trust this..

I accidentally posted in Altcoin mining section the first time.
you are right, you should avoid posting your virus in the part of the forum where actual dev post

(also you did accidentally made 3 threads about it...)

https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer

It's easy to check that sgminer github is still at version 5.1, last update made at January 13th..

While this "SGMiner V5.2" might not be malware, it's very suspicious that someone has decided to name it "5.2".. That gives the impression that it is the next version of "official" sgminer, but obviously it is not.

I would never install mining software without checking the source first.. It is so easy to plant bad code. Virus checkers will not find anything "malware" there, if the malicious code is already in the source.

That's all legit.. trust me. I'm surprised people are still mining with old .bin files.. :/

about this topic, posted it in his other thread he made too:

This is the second post you do about this..

Why is that?
You want people to download it, use it, get ripped off?

You should be very careful when using this software!!! There are no references to sources, no explanation who made those builds, etc.

This is most probably malware! I'd keep away from this software, it might even be some Bitcoin-stealing malware inside or at least some hidden pool mining inside.

I don't think there is malware in it... I mean, I did a scan myself and whatnot. It seems safe to me, I've been mining for about an hour on it.
I shall update you guys on further mining with it.
Do not use it on a machine where you store bitcoins !
Malware in "optimized" miner or new wallet are the most common tactics to steal your bitcoins! New malware are not always detected by antivirus

I'm not, got it on an old PC.

Yeah, it needs a deep scan and search for any malicious code inside it.

Yeah, I think thats it just updating. I'm just waiting to see how much faster it is with my AMD R9 290.

Good to see they finally added an automatic updater to it.
